Great pizza! Was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza tasted. It was fresh crispy and flavourful. The waffle fries were also fresh and super crispy. We ordered 2 30cm pizzas and 2 servings of fries for a group of 5 and were all full by the end and only paid around $15 each. Great value!!

We ordered 4 pizzas which were very nice (although rocket was substituted for lettuce). But the service was very average. They obviously had a very large order to fill and we were treated like an absolute inconvenience. No napkins, cutlery side plates etc and when we asked for a takeaway box it was basically chucked at us. We walked out without our dessert pizza as we were starting to feel pretty unwelcome.

I believe that in order to be a great pizza restaurant you should be able to make the simplest of pizzas. The original, Margarita. First time here and it lived up to the hype. Great pizza! I will be back to try other pizzas next time!

Black truffle is my favourite, the cheesy truffle flavor with the crunch of the pine nuts and the crispy sesame seed crust is just so delish. My partner liked the white chicken flavor. All pizzas are good and will fill you up, absolutely love the sesame seed crusts! 🤯😍

Lovely pizza, delicious flavours and super accommodating staff. I used a coupon for 60cm pizza. We chose half and half- blue vein chicken and meaty macho but the guy had the courtesy to omit blue cheese on 1/4 of the pizza as we weren’t sure how'd it taste. The pizza was enormously large but we surprisingly downed the whole pizza between two people. The pizza is thin with a crispy sesame crust which gave it an extra crunch. The highlight for me was the meaty macho.

Initially didn't realise 24" is 5.5x the area of a standard 10". 24" is 4.0x the area of a 12" .

This place has helped me out on multiple occasions when a late night dinner was in order after a long hospo shift. I love their pizzas and they deliver to Birkenhead from the city, much appreciated. Beautiful ingredients, bases, cheese and especially love the ghost pepper oil on the pepperoni pizza - yum!

As they were busy on a Saturday, the owner was the one who even delivered to our place. Thanks, much appreciated!😊 Just a few suggestions on your details from GrabOne: - it may be worth noting to place our order atleast a day before to avoid surprises. Whilst our experience with ordering from Ange was a bit stressful, would be great if she could offer alternative solutions (which there was other available times) rather than saying a flat out No and “fully booked today. Until i had to ask her if there are other available times and i needed to explain that the reason we bought the voucher is mainly for the party otherwise we cant use the voucher on other days and consume 2 big pizzas just for me and my husband. In the end, we felt relieved that she can accommodate our order at 5pm as opposed to 5:30pm which could have been a breeze if it was communicated straight away.😅 - would be nice to categorise which are the classic ones from gourmet - the 800 number doesnt work. It would be worth mentioning the correct numbers of your outlets. Overall, Good pizza over Sal’s/Dominos/Pizza Hut and we are happy!

Bought a GrabOne voucher for Proper Pizza and very dissapointing unless you like topping-less pizza. I bought the voucher from GrabOne for $34 and was very dissapointed let alone if I had to pay for the full price. I ordered the Meaty Macho. Was neither very Meaty or Macho. Pizza was very big but it had hardly any topping, some slices had no topping on it. Was just eating dough with pizza sauce. On the positive though the very little meatballs that were on pizza was quite tasty. Was tasty enough (some slices) but for the price def wasn’t worth it. ===Updated=== I took Stuart’s offer and got a replacement pizza, this time round the pizza is packed with topping, so much better than the last. The blue cheese pizza wasn’t too over powering, was really nice, the pepperoni could’ve been hotter but still good.

Very delicious pizza, they have their own spin on it with flavors I haven't seen before. Crust is also a little unique and flavorful. Waffle fries are crunchy but a tad too salty. While it's a high quality pizza, at full price it's on the expensive side.

Proper pizzas are yummy and set a different benchmark (literally lives up to its name) in gourmet pizzas that are made in style. The 40" ones are the more preferred size for a group of 4, with the waffle fries and focaccia to add to the appetizer list. Grab One offers are the icing on the cake. 😊

The pizzas here are amazing. The waldorf salad was incredible. I really feel however that for the price of the pizza I would prefer more options on condiments. The option of cream balsamic on the side would be great. Other sauces beside just siracha would have been nice. Regardless, the pizzas weren’t oily, the flavour profiles were fantastic. Just a few more additions and it would be perfect! Paper plates would be helpful, but if they’re being environmentally conscious then that’s fine. Just more condiments! Please.

One of the best pizza places I’ve tried in Auckland! Love the thin crust, the cheesy goodness, and fresh flavours. We ordered the Truffle Pizza and Crucio di Parma and both were SO good, it was so hard to choose which one is better. Will definitely be back! Ordered from them again via Menulog and they upgraded our pizzas! So nice of them to do that! Thank you 🤗

What can I say? The largest pizza I ever had lol. Blue cheese chicken pizza as attached, every inch cooked properly like the business name haha 4 stars as I suggest the shop owner can pay attention to hygiene a bit more, tables need to be wiped down after every service. Otherwise I do recommend for giving it a try and also small party would be great there.

There was a huge order right before us and the manager kindly offered us another round of drinks on the house to make up for the wait time! Recommend going in before 7 pm as we left around that time and the place really started filling up.

Delicious pizzas and most friendly, personal service. We ordered a black truffle pizza upon recommendations and it did not disappoint. Knowing that our 2 year old might not enjoy black truffle as much as we do, Proper Pizza even throw in a little treat for the little boy just so that everyone can enjoy the meal! How thoughtful of them and we are most grateful for that. Our little boy ended up finishing 4 slices of the 20cm Margarita pizza all by himself! That's the most we've seen him eat and that speaks a lot about how good the pizzas are at this place. Will be back!

Finally a pizza that tastes as good as it smells! Just finished having some of the huge 60cm pepperoni with four children and there's so much left. Forget about domino's, pay the extra and indulge in real flavours. I really wanted to give 5 stars but the location was a hassle for me. I hope other stores open in areas outside of the CBD so that parking is no longer an issue. I'm looking forward to trying different pizza from here.

Taste great with some unique blend of ingredients, speacialy cheese and seasome seeds. Crust was baked to perfection. Only drawback is small size, I can eat giant size pizza with that great quality and 3am hunger pangs. I gave a ride to manager Mr Trimothi back home and got a donut, as I was his last customer🐢🐱. Absolute shambles on a Friday night. Waited too long for our orders. Forgot the order, they then got it wrong. Positives: They owned up to their mistakes, and gave us free pizzas and beers. The pizzas were good and flavorful.

Pizzas are flavourful and they have a great variety and the pie is super thin and crispy which makes it very nice. The only downside is you will most probably not feel full by eating one pizza so it's a great place for a treat but it becomes expensive if you come being really hungry.

Wow. I've experienced Pizza all over the World and Proper Pizza is absolutely the real deal. The perfect combination of tasty quality ingredients from the light European-grade flour forming the perfect crust slightly charred to enhance flavour to the selection of toppings and Cheeses that won't overload with grease. I especially recommend the black truffle and the seafood pizzas. I can sense a real addiction coming on. No other pizza for me from now on if I can possibly have it. Myself and my Partner decided on this pizza joint for dinner. Great pizza selection and sizes. We went with the chicken, blue cheese and tomato and I have to say the favour and base texture was great! The reason this place did not get 5 stars was due to the attitude of the female who was serving at the counter. As soon as we walked in we instantly felt as though we were an inconvenience to her even though we were one of two couples in the place at the time. We ordered the 60cm pizza, we couldn't finish it so i asked if we cod have it in a box to take home, at this point I was given a box and dismissed as she sat down to her own meal, so I awkwardly had to try and wrestle the pizza in to a small box with the help of the delivery driver which was quite embarrassing. Its a shame as we would have definatley come back but service is a large part of the experience for me and it was seriously lacking this time. Update: spoke with Stuart who is a complete gentleman, he has followed up quickly and professionally. I have been offered a free meal which I refused due to business struggling enough, Stuart has offered to pay this forward to someone in need which is amazing. I have changed the review to 5 stars based on this and the quality of the food being great!

Ordered through Delivereasy, at the Whangaparaoa store. Pizza was so yummy! The reason why I haven't given it 5 stars is because both my pizza and waffle fries were extremely cold and soggy upon arrival and the base was incredibly doughy. But after a few minutes in the air fryer all was good again!

UPDATE: Was shouted a free meal by the owner. This time around the service and the food was good so I've changed the rating to 4 stars as I'm now more convinced my original experience was a one-off. Thanks First time trying Proper Pizza and was quite disappointed with the service. After about 30 minutes of waiting for our pizza we asked at the counter to see how far off it was and we were bluntly told "it's being made now", with no apology or anything. It was another 30 or so minutes before we actually received our pizza. There were other customers that entered the store after us and got their food before us. A couple even managed to finish theirs and leave! We received a fairly insincere apology as they put it on our table but nothing more. It was obvious that they weren't making the pizza when they said they were and it just seemed like they didn't care. A bit of honesty and communication would have gone a long way here. We left feeling pretty bitter about the whole thing even though the pizza did turn out to be quite nice! Not sure if I'll be recommending to others.

Great service, and variations of pizza. The only place in Auckland that makes thin crust and makes the food feel authentic. Delivery was fast and dinning in was even better being placed on a small street near chancery square. Thank You so much! Try the seafood pizza when you go there! UPDATE: After a minor issue with out last experience, Stuart the owner promptly responded and remedied our issue free of charge. The customer service is beyond anything I’ve experienced before and it is very clear that Stuart takes a lot of pride in his business and cares a lot about his clients. The replacement pizzas were absolutely perfect and to die for. We will DEFINITELY be returning customers.Would recommend this place to everyone.

The pizza was delicious however we had rung in advance and made a booking only to turn up and nothing in the way of a table had been set up - nothing had been organised so very poor. Seriously the best pizza I’ve ever tasted, so unique. Never tried it before in other places but I have to admit: BEST PIZZA EVER! The staff was amazing and the place friendly, I was a tourist and my friend in the city suggested this new place in Auckland, so I had to go there and try it. It’s nothing like other pizzas around, it’s like a specific taste your body asks from time to time. I wish I had one right now keep it up guys, definitely will come again.

Fist time I had a pizza here it took a long time to arrive. When it did, first thing I thought was 'why on Earth would anyone put sesame seeds on a pizza crust?' Well it turns out it's because it's quite delicious and a nice point of difference to other pizzas. Having come back a few times, they do really good work. The base sauce they use is wonderfully fresh, bright and tasty. Well worth a look if you're after a good pizza in the city.

Took one star off because the garden salad contains walnuts but it doesn’t say on the menu. My son is severely allergic to walnuts. Staff was nice and friendly and offered to remake the salad (which we decided not to anyway).

This is definitely the best pizza I have ever had. Has a very different crust from the others, thin and those sesame seeds, what a great touch! Tried for first time "The Proper Pizza" and genuinely, it is proper pizza I visited on saturday lunch, The twist they have in their pizzas is amazing creation. Had black truffle and macho one, both was perfectly cooked and full of flavours as it says. Staffs were so proffesional and the guy on cash recommended this pizzas to me and I can say that, this was the best pizzas I have ever had.

Such an awesome restaurant! Modern, airy interior, central city location, wonderful customer service. The 'Black Truffle' pizza was THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! The one and only : Proper Pizza Fell in love with this pizza from the first day I tried it and still in love every time I have it. Favourite flavour: Crudo di Parma- it taste like you are in Italy, cooked in the oven for 3 min on 450’C and finished outside with raw wild rocket, shaved Parmesan and parma ham of the greatest quality. With a Sprinkle of balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil on top of it. Absolutely a gem!

Black Truffle Pizza. Sweet baby jesus! That is the most amazing pizza I have ever had. Whoever came up with that should be pleasured beyond what's humanly possible. It even puts Sal's Pepperoni pizza to shame. I still love both. Actually I love pizza's. It is a tad on the expensive side. I don't know if they use real black truffle, as I've never seen the raw ingredients for making the pizza. The pine nuts are real though. Think about possibly opening up another branch somewhere outside the CBD. I don't want to have to eat warm pizza constantly because I have to drive back out West to enjoy it while watching a movie at home.

Staff provided some chilli flakes (good) but also marmite (confusing) and strawberry jam (downright weird). Save yourself $5 and get a bigger, better quality pizza from Sal's.
