B.Amazing food. We had pulled noodles with pork. The lamb burger was also delicious. Definitely can highly recommend and will go back. The staff was very friendly.
J.Went to the place first time to try typical Xi An cuisine. I ordered lamb soup with glass noodle and a stuffed lamb bao bun. The food was delicious and I enjoyed it. The place is very simple decorated and if you are looking for typical Xi An street food, this is the place to go. The restaurant is a chain and you can find the food bar all over Auckland and Hamilton. The staff were friendly and helpful.
D.How did I end up here when I was looking forward to going to Amano for our Friday date night, Haha 😂 My partner needed to do some work after our meal, so we need something quick. Standing near the ANZAC Ave traffic light, we noticed this little gem. It turns out to be a memorable night - the food was rustic and authentic & we both couldn’t stop talking about the thick hand pulled noodles afterwards. They are sooo fresh, chewy and silky - it’s out-of-this-world!! 👍👍Did you know you pay $4 extra you can add their delicious braised pork to any noodle - we did and it was simply amazing😋. There isn’t your Hip Group style immaculate service, but you really just need to place your order and wait for your food to arrive before stuffing your face with all the deliciousness, get your own water; plus the lady who works there is loveable too!!
So in conclusion - if you are after some yummy Chinese food, you must try this place & you will love it ! 🎊🎊 If you are after some romantic ambience, this is unfortunately not the place...
K.Definitely delicious and worth the price. The noodles had a spicy broth at the bottom that got all mixed together and was really good and was quite filling. Wasn't much of a selection with the drinks fridge though

J.Phenomenal food, cheap - every meal has been outstanding. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something different as it all is fantastic. Noodles are phenomenal and it's cheap for the quality and portion sizes. Don't be afraid to get wild with the vinegar and soy to add that extra depth of flavour. Must try.

O.The noodles here are super tasty, and the portions are super generous. Amazing cheap eat in Auckland city. Approx $12 for a huge bowl of noodles. I highly recommend the hand pulled noodles with Xian style braised pork. Friendly service too! Can’t go wrong here if you’re hungry, or looking for a great meal on a shoestring budget.

T.the food is more like home made, nothing fancy, but tasty. I really enjoyed it. But the room is shabby, needs a good clean and some decoration. Everything is too basic.
A.Get a cumin lamb burger to snack on if you’re ever feeling like something between a meal or a snack. Otherwise their hand pulled noodles are so chewy and doused generously in sauce. The price is just ridiculously justifiable and they’ve done some renovation so it’s a lot nicer than what it was before if you’re thinking of dining in. I’ve been to Xi’an and the food from this place is as authentic as it gets!
J.My wife and I get cravings for this place once a couple of weeks. Something about the texture of the hand-pulled noodles, that just go so well with the braised pork with a tinge of spice. Really nothing like it.
Don't let the outward appearances fool you. It looks really shabby and run down, but the food is always dependably good and the customer service is excellent compared to other Chinese places. Prices are also very good on a student budget.

F.This message comes from a place of love as Xi'an has, over the years, given me and my friend group so much joy, it truly does pain me to write such a review. Recently, Xi'an made the decision to leave the tables naked of condiments and rid its beloved #37 dish bare of bok choy. The decision to replace bok choy with cabbage has left many baffled and upon months on continuation, it is clear that this was not a seasonal change. To top off these decision made by the Xi'an executives, four of the last five times I have visited they have been out of stock of hand pulled noodles, a mistake like this can be forgiven once, maybe twice - but 4 times is, to be frank, utterly inept. The situation of out of stock hand pulled noodles is something that is the tip of the iceberg for the wider systemic issues of the Xi'an supply chain and logistics operations. My final point to raise, the proverbial grind of salt in the wound (salt that is now not placed on the tables but left for customers to serve their own), is that I arrived at Xi'an Dominion Road for a romantic date with my Main One at 8:50pm and they turned us away - despite the advertised closing time of 9:30pm. Xi'an, please, please, sort out your ways. I love you and I have sent countless people through your doors - if the service doesn't lift, my recommendations will become a reflection of myself and may adversely affect my tender confidence and esteem amongst my peers.

K.We are regulars - the food for years is in consistent good taste. We normally order a Rou Jia Mo and beef noodle. My son loves cucumber. We also love Liang Pi. The prices are reasonable. Only down side is parking can be tricky in CBD area.
I.This is probably the most unique Chinese restaurant I've visited. Most of the dishes were lamb based and it was super spicy. I tried their lamb burger (just $5 ). It was better than most traditional burgers and instead of buns they had some sort of flat bread which made the dish taste even better. My wife tried their lamb noodle soup which was good, but nothing to rave about. Overall this place has good food for cheap prices.

G.For takeaways at least, wow that #21 lamb broth and homemade noodles tasted good 🤤. The second pork one not as much, but loving the thick noodles. It's definitely older feeling inside and a bit unsightly, but for the food and price, it's worth coming back.

r.The best thing to try here is the pulled pork with hand pulled noodles. This dish is flavorful and the noodles has a rich texture and the chilli oil with garlic adds an sumptuous taste.

Couple that with their chilli sauce and OMG! I could eat that for days! It's also my wife's favourite dish. Also try their Chinese Burger with Braised Pork, Xi'an style Clear Jelly with Sauce, and their Sliced Beef with Ox Tongue in Chilli Sauce. Actually try them all!
All of their branches are the same in terms of quality and quantity of food.
K.Best Xi'an Restaurant outside of Shaanxi !!! ... My Chinese husband and I (a blonde aussie) dined at this restaurant for the first time two nights ago. It was so good we decided to go back the next night. ... The lamb cumin burger filling was the best Ive ever had (although I prefer a steamed bao, not a fried case) . The braised meat in noodle was incredibly flavoursome, and the cold noodle was just so good. The fresh hand pulled biang biang noodle was amazingly authentic. .... Yes, it doesnt look like much, and foreigners arent going to feel comfortable here. It pays if you are actually Chinese, because it seems the staff dont like foreigners. I absolutely loved the rawness and authenticity of a bare kitchen out in the open that you just dont get in the western world. Id get fat and happy on a daily diet of their noodles :) :)
