Great choices of liquor. Haven't tried their food as went there to grab some drinks. Not too noisy place and has a really relaxing atmosphere. You'll also see the riverside which you will enjoy the view. Staff are friendly and nice. Will recommend to friends and family, and will also come back to try their food.

I had the stickiest delicious double cooked pork belly with crackle crumb. A small but decadent serving, the fat melts in your mouth. Yum. I also asked the waitress for a spicy dry red wine and was served a delicious glass of Syrah. Nice for a catch up after work on a sunny afternoon by the river.

Dinner and brilliant cocktails, beautiful experience, great food and drinks, a large variety of cocktails that you don't try in every location. The food was abundant and really tasty, staff were friendly and eventing came in minutes. Love the place the atmosphere is warm and inviting, comfortable and green 😀

The service, food, cocktails and decor were all fab and the prices very reasonable. All our meals were delicious and we'll definitely be back! Only slight down side was the musician's speaker volume was really loud, making it really hard to hear the others sitting at our table.

This was our second experience here. Our first time we enjoyed the Amazonita Board with lunch so much we just had to have it again with dinner on our next visit. We were delighted to find the dinner menu was as fantastic as the lunch menu. The staff were kind and helpful, and even offered to bag our food for takeaway when we couldn’t finish the generous portions.

Had a great time coming here over the weekend for dinner. Highly recommend making sure you have a booking as it can get busy quick! Decent selection of food and very nice cocktail list! Went for brunch with a large group. The staff were approachable and professional. The food came out at the same time. They were hot and great value for money. There was an extensive drinks menu and we all enjoyed the morning at Amazonita. Will be going back again soon.

Eclectic Christchurch restaurant Amazonita is the place to be on Friday night. Flamboyant art deco interior compliments modern kiwi fusion cuisine which found inspiration from many ethnic cultures. #Salmon with Brazilian herbs was the favourite for me. While other guests praised perfect crackling on #pork loin with charred pineapple and pumpkin puree. All polished with champagne of course.

Amazonita is a lively restaurant on the banks of the Avon River. Beautiful walk ways along the river. My waitress Rachel, (who obligingly stood outside of the window... (Window dressing if you like!) was very fresh and friendly. I ordered the lamb rump, beautifully rare and cauliflower and eggplant veg in yummy matching sauces. Great back ground music and nice atmosphere.

Fantastic looking restaurant & I will be back to try drinks menu. Food looked amazing but fish if the day tasted dry & my crispy squid had some very chewy bits. Fries on the side come with no sauce available & super pet hate of mine is the bowl of salt that every other person has potentially been putting their sticky fingers into so I couldn't salt my fries as no way with so much sickness around I was going to dip into that so could only add pepper. But you gotta go here to check out the decor, love it! Tea is only a teabag in very small pot. Appeared to be steps only either side that go into dining room so those with accessibility/wheelchair need to use the far left door not the main entrance door if wanting to get to dining area as only high tables in bar area. Toilets are in that area so guessing if you are dining in wheelchair you need to go outside to get to other door to go toilets? I may have they wrong but it's what it looked like.

Kia ora, we've visited a few times since our first visit and always a great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. Last visit was Covid Level 2. Well organised with tracing and social distancing. Stopped in for a late night drink, great atmosphere. Sat down by the warm fire. Would go here again.

The steak was pretty overpriced, and was good but for the cost wasnt great. The deserts were decent however. The atmosphere was wonderful, albeit a tad noisy, understandable as this seems to be a go to place.

Wow!!! Just absolute wow!!! We ordered the twice cooked pork belly to share, followed by the lamb and chicken salads. All options were absolutely delicious. I also had a lost paradise cocktail. Devine. I do suggest making a booking in advance as it is usually busy.

My friend and I were looking for a place that could cater for her very limited dietary needs. The staff couldn’t have done more. Both Tane and the other waitress, whose name I didn’t get unfortunately were amazing. They made sure my friends needs were met, and really looked after both of us. All staff were very obliging, and the food was fabulous. Thank you for making my friends birthday a special day. And the background music was great too.

Delicious meal, in brooding surrounds with excellent service. Decor is jungley, on the darker side and intimate. Meals taste great and a wide variety on offer. Busy Tuesday night and staff were accomodating of our large group and extended sitting (who wants to stop mid-yarn?). Interesting range of beers, cocktails (non-alcohol options), wines and other drinks.

Delicious cocktails and wonderful vibe...before 10pm is a great menu for dining and cocktails. After 10ish outside a riverside table is perfect for conversation, nihht caps and people watching. Later than 10pm you may need to wait but the queue moves quickly and is worth the wait.

Went for brunch, and was pleased to see that while the dishes sounded like standards, each had a novel twist which made them much more interesting. Maybe the baked French toast was very slightly overcooked. In a world in which brunch is almost uniformly boring, this stands out. Excellent service, lovely décor, great coffee.

Eating here was an adventure. The interior is colourful and mysterious, the staff super friendly and helpful, the chef was a joy to watch in the open kitchen. Great place to have a quiet beer and awesome burger. The best time is Sunday arvo when Jerry is on music. He has a seriously great repertoire and he tailors the music to the crowd. Doesn’t take breaks when the crowd is enjoying the songs. He’s a good guy.

While the setting is amazing, the food is just standard, not outstanding. The service was just a bit casual for my liking. Delicious and beautiful. Met a friend here on Sunday afternoon and loved it. Sat outside and was immediately greeted by a friendly waitress. She let us take our time and understood that we wanted a catch up as we browsed the menu. It was warm so I had the frozen rose and it was just fantastic. Loved the food, we shared starters. The inside looks great too and I would love to go back for cocktails on a cold evening. I really rate this place. I also thought the toilets were perfectly clean and great styling.

I had two appetizers this afternoon as the supper menu hadn't started yet, the calamari was really nice I'd recommend for sure 😊 however the pork belly was not. . I've not eaten pork belly much but the serving I got was nearly all fat and guess i just didn't care for it. Otherwise, i found the service to be competitive, no complaints.

I needed to book a quiet restaurant for lunch for a large group including international guest. I was looking for a diverse menu that could cater for everyone. The menu was perfect and the food didn't disappoint. Everyone had something different and were impressed with the quality and and size of the dishes. Being on the terrace overlooking the Avon river is another plus. The service was excellent and it was great to have smiling staff.

We had our Christmas function here and they were more interested in moving us on than looking after us. We were there 20mins early for our 5pm booking and they didn’t seem to want to make an effort. The restaurant was nearly empty at this stage but seating us for drinks while we waited seemed to be an effort. We were told we would be collected when the table was ready and they took their time, in fact it was after 5pm when the Floor Manager did take us to our table. The meals and drinks were lovely but we waited a while for both the orders to be taken and the meals to arrive. One of our party had a baby and before she even sat down was told “you are in the way”! It took us to suggest a high chair to get their attitude the change. The floor manager was rude and effectively told us off for not being seated on time!!! We new from the start there was another booking at 7pm but the manner and rudeness was not great. We had to move to a bar out the back at 6:50pm for desserts and even then when we had finished they were quite keen to move us on! NOT customer focussed and very disappointed with the service.

This was my first time here, hadn't spent much time down the new strip since it opened post quake rebuild. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Amazonita is different from the rest. Has plenty of outdoor seating and is heated, and staff inside served us quickly. Came here for a drink, not a dance, and when we told this to the security, we were lead straight past the line of people waiting to dance inside. Thanks! Will be back

Having seen Mary Poppins mid week (BRILLIANT BLUNT, BRILLIANT MOVIE) four of us decided that a coffee was in order. Having wandered around aimlessly, because we weren't up to date with the New Vibrant Inner City (Must Go exploring again, OUR NEW PUBLIC LIBRARY IS THE BEES KNEES AND CATS WHISKERS), We finally went down to the River where there was a Busy Cheerful atmosphere. We asked if it would be OK to have only a Coffee and The Young Woman that Greeted us was Great, as where all of the Young People that Served us or interacted with us. You got the Great Vibe from Bar Staff, To Waiters, That NOTHING Was To Much and they would Do their Upmost to Be Helpful. Great Decor, we Sat outside and Were Warm, Guests chatted With each other amiable. As for the Bathroom.... To Die for.... I know A BIT CREEPY, But having Waxed Lyrical About the Decor in the Loos, My Friends all went and had a Geezer.... They were Impressed. Great first impressions and will be Back. Happy New year everyone.

Not very welcoming. Confronted by the doorman saying it was dress shirt only. Finally let in to find 98 percent of people were not wearing dress shirts. Apart from that good atmosphere and barmen supplied me with free cokes being the sober driver
