When Italian meets Korean, you have an exceptional culinary experience like a marriage in heaven. Humble garlic bread for entrée is buttery and the garlic itself was super crispy. Bulgogi marinated beef on top of campanelle con salsa di pomodoro (Bell pasta with tomato sauce) is an example of well-executed Eurasian fusion food. Highly recommended this humble but eclectic eatery.

We had a lovely meal - all of our pasta was really flavourful! Service was wonderful and atmosphere was great! Only downside is that they're closed for lunch :( otherwise I would have pasta for lunch and dinner!!

Was pleasantly surprised! The Korean influence complements the Italian well, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Would recommend the spicy mushroom. Also had the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was one of the best I’ve ever head!

Food is always great. This is more directed at the experience. We’ve been here three times, two of those times the order was wrong and I’ve had to watch my partner eat dinner and on top of that we were given the wrong wine. Nothing was done by the staff to amend these issues. We also sat in the new area which was quite cold and all you can hear is the loud refrigerators in the corner. Not the setting or experience we were hoping for on a date night.

This is probably the best tasting Italian I have had. Amazing food. Very friendly staff. It's a small place but great ambience. They have some tomato based pasta. Cream based pasta and oil pasta garlic bread. We tried spicy tomato mushrooms pasta and basil pesto ravioli. Loved it. Just wish the Parking situation was better.

In a word…Delicious! We had a birthday celebration last night at Chichi Kitchen and everyone had a delicious individually cooked fresh meal. My meal was vegan (prearranged via email- not a problem) and it was Amazing! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere perfect! I can’t wait to eat there again!

Wow! Everything we had was fantastic. Started off with the best best garlic bread I've ever had, and then with the delicious and flavorful chicken rose and the green curry risotto. The risotto stole the show for sure. Every bite, from beginning to end, was so delicious that I couldn't help from smiling. Certainly one of my favorite dishes ever.

Amazing feed with homely fresh pastas made right in front of you! The mushroom ravioli was the highlight with the creaminess complimented by a lovely nuttiness. Eugene was lovely and made us feel comfortable. Will definitely be back when we return to Christchurch! Thank you!

Amazing pasta and fantastic service, we really felt at home at ChiChi Kitchen. The Gorgonzola ChiChidelle was fantastic, the Creme Brulee for dessert wasn't quite at the same standard but still nice. Would recommend for a cosy Italian meal

I was a little sceptical about the other reviewers saying this was the best pasta they have tasted in their lifetime, thinking it might be a little exexerated. The moment I sunk my teeth into the garlic bread, followed by the mushroom fettuccine in cream sauce, I knew exactly what the other reviewers were talking about! The garlic bread is superb and topped with crunchy garlic bits to give it an extra oomph! The mushroom fettuccine in cream sauce... OMG! The mushroom flavour is deeply infused in the sauce - I'll have to agree, this is one of the best mushroom fettuccine in cream sauce I have ever tasted! We also liked the other two pasta ordered, chicken rose fettuccine and spicy tomato mushroom penne, but my favorite would have to be the mushroom fettuccine in cream sauce! Simply out of this world delicious! 👍👍👍 Owner invited my son to make his own pasta and it was quite an experience for him. Thank you chef!

Wow! Visited ChiChi last night for my wife's birthday and it’s undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Christchurch - certainly the best Italian food we have had anywhere in New Zealand. Food was superb, portion size was perfect and service was excellent. I have complicated food allergies and the chef took extra care to ensure I got an appropriate meal – which was delicious. They have lots of gluten free & vegetarian options. Very highly recommend this restaurant – we will certainly be returning.

First things first... nothing has ever entered my mouth that was this good. The food was exquisite, so much flavour that was captured perfectly within a dish of pasta. I had ordered the Chicken Rose Pasta for $20... a delicious dish. I also two scoops of gelato (two scoops for $7). Both flavours were very delicious, creamy, and natural. Customer service was also very good. A nice, personal conversation was often tossed around. But the fact that this restaurant is relatively new and has the most delicious pasta I have ever had, shows that this restaurant deserves five stars.

Fantastic pasta and gelato for a really good price. The price is perfect for a lunch meal ($13-$15) and the quality is just outstanding. I wish I discovered this place earlier! I work around here and this is a great place for lunch. The pasta is exactly as pasta should be. Elegantly simple yet so flavourful. The food comes out quick and the portions are a good size. The location is great, and the shop has ample inside and outside seats.

Incredible food. I live in Auck now, but I cannot find a better fettuccine place like this. The pasta here is hands down the best in the country. I used to travel all the way from rangiora after work just to have food here. Now, I'm craving for it a lot after my friend sent me a pic of this food, hence this review. Ho-ly sh*t. Before coming, I read a few reviews for this place and they were all really positive- you know, just to scout it out. But in going tonight, those reviews are all justified- the dishes were exceptional; just the garlic bread alone warrants a 5 star review. Friendly and talkative wait staff and overall an absolutely stunning atmosphere- hands down one of the best restaurants in Christchurch- potentially all of the south island. Will definitely return🙃

Great place for a tasty economical lunch. I went for a quick lunch on a cool day. The Chef was outside cooking the meat on a charcoal broiler to ensure a better flavour. The service was very friendly and prompt which was important as I was on a lunch break. I had the Beef Pizza wrap which was generous in size and very tasty. A good mix of vegetables and generous charcoal broiled meat content. The meal was an economical $10.00 Highly recommended and if you want some of the best coffee in town Engine Coffee Brewers is right next door in their new larger premises.

Wow! Beautifully presented dishes, incredible flavour profiles and some of the best service I’ve had anywhere. Chichi Kitchen is a cute little space that draws on the aesthetics of the classic neighbourhood Italian restaurant and infuses it with modern ideas and a kick of Korean flavour (and it works!). We had the garlic bread (so good we ordered another), the squid ink fettuccine (fresh and bright but also deep salty-ocean) and the Korean beef penne (blew my socks off). If you haven’t been, go!

Four of us had a wonderful meal there last night. My green curry risotto was unbelievably good, as was the leek and bacon penne pasta, had by Penny and David. James had chicken rose sauce fettuccini, highly praised. All followed by crême brulée. We were taken by Penny and James. What a find! This is no run-of-the-mill pasta place, but seriously good food. We can't wait to visit again

It's ok. Let's just say there is not much authentic italian generosity. For $25.00 it feels like you get about $6.00 worth of ingredients (surprisingly even a small amount of pasta). The takeaway containers are about half full and although the pasta was fine it wasn't anything particularly delicious. It's like, guys it's not hard to make pasta. Either give us something delicious or make the portion worth $25.00. I wouldn't have minded the $25.00 price per meal if it was rich or decent quantity. Now is this a great place to go on a first date? Yes, the portions are small, the food is romantically themed, and they include two dinner mints in the to-go bag. Perfect for a first date. Would I ever come back here? Probably never lol. I doubt this place gets repeat customers.

Highly highly recommended! The pasta were awesome and authentic. We tried 6 different pastas, garlic bread & salad and all were really really good. We will recommend the cream mushroom pasta and the spicy tomato pasta but really all are good and depends on personal preference. The owner/staff were really accommodative and hospitable as well. We came without booking but they allowed us to sit outside initially. As it was chilly, they offered us blanket and warm water. When there are seats inside, they immediately let us in. Really appreciative of their thoughtful services!! It's a pity we only get to try once. We will definitely crave for the pasta even back in Singapore.

Soooo good. Had the Gorgonzola Chichidelli, though thankful for the addition of extra chorizo as it was incredibly rich. Friends had others: Mushroom ravioli was well received. The pesto pasta was light and summery, the kim chi penne was an interesting take on fusion, the 1 to 10 scale of heat was appreciated. Garlic bread definitely recommended. The cremé brulee was a stellar winner, icecream was... Simple. Cremé brulee all the way next time. Lovely touch for the head chef/owner to come out for our Parmigiano-reggiano finishing. Great intimate venue, as we had a larger group we were off to the side in a private room away from the rest. Was a little exposed to some thumping bass from the club next door, but didn't bother us too much. Verdict: superb! Luscious food, at a great price point with an intimate venue, stellar service and no "ugh I feel heavy" feeling after. 8/10!

My favorite place in Christchurch. Pasta and Service are perfect. The perfect mix of traditional pasta with a twist. Have been there mostly for lunch but also one time for dinner. ChiChi has the most amazing food and ambience. The owner and chef is Korean which adds a wonderful zing to his pasta dishes. We've been there twice and both times he's come out to chat with us so it's been a fantastic experience for our taste buds and our brains. They offer meals on Uber eats so you can enjoy their wonderful dishes at home, but you would miss out on the extraordinary service.

We visited Chi Chi’s based on recommendation from a local while in Christchurch in Feb 2019. Cannot express how welcome the owners made us feel and the FOOD is amazing. He makes the pasta fresh for each dish, not just for the day. You can taste the freshness in all ingredients. We had the black squid ink pasta, and the pesto, both delicious. A highlight of our NZ holiday.

Amazing hidden gem! Cute tiny place hidden away but well worth visiting! Only a few tables but we were somehow the only ones there.
