A.So far, the best souvlaki place I've been to. Single sized platter + small pita is a good portion if you're hungry, but want a little room for desert. Lots of fresh salad and sauce. Very tasty meat (I had beef mince and my wife had chicken). Olives are a tad too salty for my taste, but it's not a big deal. Overall, very healthy meal.
M.Consistently delicious 😋 I have been going to Dimitris since 2000 and I've never had a bad meal. It is always fresh and tasty. GF or Vegetarian available. The service is always beautiful. If you haven't tried Dimitris You need to. 5 Stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
L.Absolutely delicious lamb souvlaki. The meat was tender, sauce was yum and price reasonable for the amount of food you get. Only critique was the dough was a bit too thick.
J.Really delicious food. The salads are nice and fresh and you get a decent amount of meat. My favourite place to eat at Riverside, so far. A shame that they close at 6pm during the week, because it'd be the perfect quick dinner before a movie.

The queue can get pretty long sometimes, especially on the weekend, however the staff are very onto it. Despite there being so many people in line in front and behind me, I received my order within about 5 minutes of payment - pretty awesome !!!
Sometimes it is difficult to get through to the counter to collect your food, however it is understandable considering the chaotic, space constrained and stressful lunch rushes.
And please try Dmitri's falafel!! It is absolutely delicious, as are their homemade sauces. Definitely a vegetarian must-go in the city.

J.Some of the best Greek food I’ve had in a long time. I tried the combination triple meat platter which was delicious accompanied by the fresh salad. Chicken and lamb were so flavourful but the falafel stole the show! Great value too at $18.50 for a huge portion.

All is home made, from the dough for the wrap to their delicious tzatziki and tomato based dressing made from fresh tomatoes, the spice they season the best quality meat of your choice...
I hardly give 5*, as it is reserved for the exceptional services and experiences. And this is one of them you should not miss whilst you are in ChCh.

A.I've enjoyed Dimitris Falafel for almost 2 decades now - at the racecourse market, in the old food court in ballantines, even in the halswell community hall carpark, but i had yet to try out the riverside location. Yesterday our work ordered Dimitris for pickup (thanks to lockdown). Maybe it was nostalgia, maybe it was lockdown talking, but this was hands down the best souvlaki i've ever had. It was positively overflowing with hummus and ridiculously generous with olives. (I love olives!) I'll definitely be hiking back to riverside for more!
D.Souvlaki for team lunch and Dimitris was such a fabulous choice.
Was initially annoyed that the Riccarton branch was closed (didn't know until I saw the door sign) but the Riverside Market outlet totally redeemed themselves.
10 souvlakis were cooked in only 8 minutes, they wrote individual names on each packet and the taste was simply wonderful.
We had all sorts and everyone in the team enjoyed a wonderfully filling meal for lunch.
Would most certainly be willing to do this again and it was totally worth the trip into town.

The food is amazing and I can see why there is always a long line at this place. I ordered a double chicken souvlaki with hot chilli and hummus and it was so delicious I almost went back for another one (the portion sizing is huge though so I was already full) The white sauce was tangy and delicious and the tomato sauce was sweet and complimented everything perfectly. I am not a big fan of the tomato chunks so I skipped those but I imagine if I liked tomato, they would be equally delicious too
I also had the pleasure of being served by a young girl whos name I didn't catch (she was a young maori girl I believe from the greenstone and maori earring she was wearing) so if you know who I'm referring to, please send her my thanks
She patiently explained the menu to me as I had never eaten there before and answered all of the questions that I had, even wishing me a happy birthday as she noticed that it was when she checked my vaccine pass.
If I could rate more than 5 stars, I definitely would! Reccomend!
