j.Ordered the box of wings for $13.50, they weren’t that busy but still took over 15mins to arrive. The food was fresh however a little underwhelming and not that flavoursome. I did notice 450ml beers for $10 which is great value, however all craft/hoppy beers which is not for me. Staff pleasant although one member had face mask around her neck, rather than on.
P.The best chicken in town. Burgers are 10/10 plus both the tenders and the cauli bites are legit. The default aiolis are already perfect for it but the maple+chicken tenders are where it's at (and I wasn't even feeling sweet food tonight)

You'll never eat any other chicken again. I've been here several times and always been greeted and served by wonderfully friendly staff. The food is insanely delicious. I've never had a bad feed... I'm slowly working through the whole menu. Sit outside or inside, or take your food to the nearby river and sit in the sun.
S.My kids love this place... They like eating their chicken with the sweet sauce they have. I, don't really find it great but I can't say anything against their food. Staff is very friendly also so one more point for them.

Today's visit was yet again a great experience. We were greeted very nicely, asked for our covid passes in a respectful way. We really loved the meal and will be back again and again....

E.It was really good. Taste bordering with Monster chicken and KFC. However the meat was more tender. Their fries is good. The Salad was just great fully packed with nutrition.

Spicy chicken burger - Hot as hell!!
This burger should have a disclaimer. A lot of tears were shed eating this and my cheeks are still numb. My only critique is that the ratio of chicken to burger was a bit small.

I ordered the blue, fresh fired chicken burger, which worked very well with the blue cheese sauce. The brioche bun was super soft, if they warm the bun before serving, it would have been perfect.
F.I enjoyed it , but the bread felt a bit old and not as fluffy as a brioche bread should be! I did love the pineapple in it!
S.Yussss!! My favourite chicken burgers in Christchurch are most definitely at Empire Chicken. I generally order on Bread delivery, but can't wait for them to open up in the new Riverside Markets!! Their spiced maple syrup is delicious with the crispy potatoes, and my fav is the chicken burger with cheese. Keep up the great work!!!

A.My husband and I had the most delicious chicken burger's from here the other night. We were on the fence between here and another burger joint but we are so happy we gave Empire Chicken a try. All of the ingredients on our burgers were so fresh and flavorful, and the chicken was cooked to perfection, too. We will definitely be back for more (:
Y.Was on the main road while in town for a night and saw a billboard ad for this place so thought we would try it. We got the Feed 2 Dinner Box and requested for half Hot and half Buffalo sauce. The chicken pieces itself were good as they were all thighs and drumsticks. The Buffalo chicken was spicy and tangy, and Hot was actually hot - spicier than KFC wicked wings and maybe about same level as Texas Chicken's new recipe spicy chicken. We also liked the sides - crispy potatoes and slaw. Meal also came with 2 little pots of aioli. Next time we will try the burgers as they seemed popular too.

S.Very tasty and perfectly cooked. A little greasy but that is fried chicken. Slaw was a little on the small side but very nice. I'll try the potatoes next time.

A.Had a great meal there today, I just wish that the restaurant was a wee bit larger! I hope they keep up the awesome business so they can have an even bigger building when I’m back in Christchurch, will be coming back!
J.Five bits of chicken, salad so so, 25—30min wait when we didn't see any one else order or get served. Chips not bad. Chicken OK. Salad OK. Nothing to write home about. $34 dollars probably better spent at the Korean Chicken place (Soul Tiger) 30m down the lane where we were blown away by the value and the taste with a 3 min wait.
O.The chicken from this place is top notch. Loved the spicy maple glazing.
L.Quiet night I saw them still open and decided to have a go. Brilliant fried chicken. Crisp and nicely spiced (not hot). Beautifully cooked. Made all other stuff in the meal mundane while chips were also quite nice and so was salad slurry.
Friendly staff and I loved eating quiet at the bench on a weekday night. Can't wait to see them in The market building.

J.All our food was amazing, kids loved the milkshakes, were soooo busy but didn't have to wait too long. Only thing is maybe a warning on the spicy burger. Hotness seemed to have increased so my partner had to get his own milkshake!

H.Been wanting to try Empire chicken for a long time to see what all the hype was about, we ordered the tenders for my son which he enjoyed, chicken wasn't dry and coating was nice just a bit tasteless, I ordered the single burger and my partner the spicey burger both were nice and chicken was tender, coleslaw was nice but just way over priced for what you get. $16 for a burger with chicken coleslaw and a few jalapenos is a bit of a rip plus if you want fries & a drink it's extra on top of that, overall I won't rush back in a hurry but had to try it once to know and see for myself.

D.I finally fulfilled my Americanised dream of eating chicken and waffles. I suddenly understand the obsession. Seriously, chicken and waffles is a great choice from the menu. It's sweet, it's savory. Note to self: If I keep eating these I may need a triple bypass.

B.DO NOT TRY COMPARE THIS FRIED CHICKEN TO KFC as everyone knows what KFC tastes like anyway. Other Fried Chicken places have their own recipes and places like this would cook it all from scratch.
Anyway the fried chicken was delicious, juicy and fresh! It's filling too as we ordered a 3 piece and the potatoes, even the potatoes are really nice. Got the Single Burger as well it was nice but didn't wow my taste buds but it was good. Friendly service, clean and very hygienic. You can eat in but is quite small inside but lots of seating outside and in Riverside Market. We will definitely be back for another meal😊
E.Quick service and fantastic fried chicken. Their menu is fun as well. Great place for a quick snack. Service is average. I ordered to eat in but they gave me a takeaway bag instead... But other than that all good.
R.Pretty good chicken place in Christchurch. The fried chicken portion was small but crispy and tasty. The chicken burger was also a little small but very juicy and tasty. The crispy potatoes were a very large portion and delicious. If you like chicken and want a change from normal burgers it's worth giving this place a try.
J.Not too bad but a little overrated. Coleslaw was good, but felt like if you are gonna do fried chicken you need to beat KFC on quality and it doesn't. The batter was extremely salty and hard like it has just been in a normal deep fryer. Pressure frying is perhaps needed. Also fries would be much better than roast potatoes. I suspect that potatoes are used to be more convenient for the restaurant.
a.I have tried both the tenders and burgers and they were the best I have ever eaten in my life. The single burger is very filling. The sauce, bun, slaw and tender were so juicy and yummy. Best burger I have ever eaten in my life and I can’t stop thinking about the next time I will be able to get one. 11/10
J.If you want a feed of some fried chicken this is the place. The buttermilk tenders are bloody magnificent, and if you haven't tried the spiced maple dipping sauce then well, you haven't really lived. Sweet little spot on the extreme right hand corner of the front of Riverside Market. Staff are friendly and prices are so reasonable compared to similar places.

N.Good. Chicken good. Added chillie to a cheese burger. Cane out with reaper written on the burger box, was afraid... wasn't siracha hot. You'll be fine. Or don't bother. Or ask them to amp it up if they can. He had the hazy ipa jungle juice tap beer that was delightful.
M.Surprisingly average for the price you pay, customer service also very average , weird how talked up this place is considering the quality of both service and food- perhaps they were once really good but maybe now a little to complacent. The fridge needs to be colder too as the drink I had was very warm.
P.Nothing really special. I had “The Mo”. Slice of chicken was really thin. Won’t go there again. Fergburger in Queenstown is much more better and tastier than this.

A.Amazing is the word that comes to mind when I think about Empire chicken. They have good option to choose from and the meals are not pricey. All of the chicken has been locally sourced and is cage free. The food is delicious and the staff is lovely. Please don't waste your money on KFC and give them a try, I bet you will never go anywhere else for fried chicken. I absolutely loved their double burger, it was huge and super delicious.
L.Yum yum.. that chilly maple sauce!!! Got wings and tenders! Super good!! Flavours were spot on. Totally reccomend if you're out and about in town and love chicken! Not as crispy as I would have hoped but the chilly maple made up for that.. wet wipes and napkins a must!!!! (Or even an add on)
P.The food here is fantastic nevertheless the unfortunate thing is that the customer service was not. The girl at the counter seemed disinterested in doing her job and wears a frown on her face most of the time. Handed the food to us quite angrily with the same frown and it really put us off.
a.Food is fantastic however the service was some of the worst I have experienced. The girls behind the counter ignored me on arrival until she had no other option but to serve me. Then knowing I was waiting in store for my food they didn't bother to let me know my order was ready, instead intent to stand and talk to one another until I went to find out what the delay was.

B.The best fried chicken in town. Tops KFC and any other fried chicken options in christchurch. The quality of their food is amazingly always the same. Their fried chicken is always crunchy with minimal bones, the chunky chips and spiced maple sauce is also exceptional.
It is priced slightly more expsensive than other options but well worth it. Highly recommend if you are in christchurch.

S.we saw the billboard in the city and just had to try it. absolutely delicious. burger is perfect and the deep fried cauliflower was just divine. worth the money you pay for it.
G.Good quality food, make sure to allow a good 10-15min after ordering to get your food but it is some of the best chicken around, the chicken strips are great value and the chipotle mayo is super tasty.

J.Easily some of the best chicken in Christchurch. The food truck is located second along in the row on oxford terrace in front of the ruined 98 building and along from the ridge of remembrance. Food is excellent, a small selection of colas and ice cream is in addition to their world class fried chicken and chicken burgers. You can also find them on uber eats if it is a little cold to eat outside.

c.100% the best friend chicken in Chch. Jayden and the team are super friendly and make a point to get to know your name and order. The crispy potatoes are delicious and the chipotle aioli is just the best.
Be warned though, there can be a wait because it is that good, however it's always worth the wait. They also sell the Karma cola range of drinks and Appleby farm icecream. Another plus is that their packaging is all compostable and they are available for home delivery currently on two services. Looking forward to seeing them in the new Farmers Market when it opens.
