Came here for dinner on a Sunday night during our trip and the food was delicious! Prices are a little high but on par with everything else in the area. It came out in good time and tasted very fresh. The staff were all very friendly and the service was exceptional. Definitely recommend and would return!

This place is definitely worth a stop. The tonkotsu ramen broth was flavourful and the pork was incredible (I added some extra chili power and oil to taste). Better than a lot of other ramen I have had in NZ. The staff were very friendly and greet you on arrival. Contrary to what other reviewers have said, I thought $20 for the huge bowl of ramen is really reasonable. I also got the Yuzu cocktail for $10 which was refreshing.

Wonderful little gem in Tekapo! The Thai is surprisingly very good! Fast, Fresh and great tasting food! Red / Masamman Curry were fantastic. Possibly skip the Prawn Tempura. Good selection and last orders at 8.15! Highly recommended!

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They serve the food right on time. The ramen was okay for me, I was looking for a richer broth but it was fine, we love the desserts: fried ice crean with cotton candy. Better get here early and/or with bookings as they get packed at dinner time on weekends.

Amazing food! The pork was so good. Miso Ramen was great and so were the other dishes. Even though they were meant to close at 2030hrs they still welcomed us with open arms to come in for dinner at 2015hrs. Great customer service and food rated best!! We ate laksa, fried rice and Thai noodles

Some of the best Ramen I've had outside of Japan. I found most of the Japanese food on the menu was excellent. Staff was friendly and didn't feel rushed out after meal was finished (even though it was after closing)

Had dinner here for two. The staff were super friendly from start to finish. Ordered and food was on the table in 10-15 minutes. So delicious and had some leftover after polishing off the Mrs food. And the beer was cold

Overall, this is a great asian restaurant that sells yummy and affordable dishes. It's not difficult yo find the place as it is located alongside the souvenir shops. My favorite dish of course was the spicy miso ramen that was served in a big dish good for 2 people. The staff were nice and the place was clean. Be mindful that sometimes it gets crowded but no need for reservation.

Too expensive for a medium portion of simple ramen. It's weird how it's called a "Ramen" restaurant but they serve Thai food as well, super weird. Very good customer service though and the food came fast.

Finally gave this quaint little cafe a try and the ramen isn't as bad as I expected from a western country! It's fronted by Japanese and I think the chef is Japanese too. The broth of the tonkotsu ramen is quite flavourful and thick, but a little more flavour would be good. The salmon sashimi is normal, but the takoyaki is really good. Though for the price I paid for a bowl of ramen, I'd expect more than one slice of charsiu. Overall, I'd be back to try their Thai menu.

Pros: Friendly staff, Tasty food. Good seating. Cons: Not happy with the soup. Bit expensive. If you are a Asian food lover try Chicken Fried Rice. That's absolutely tasty.

Pleasantly surprised to find good ramen in Tekapo! The chashu and egg were really well done, delicious! The staff were very friendly. Service was excellent - both times, the chef cooked our ramen noodles once we arrived so that they wouldn't get too soft. A bit pricey but that's to be expected in Tekapo.

We ordered a shoyu and a spicy miso ramen and they were pretty average, considering the price. The gyoza was also a bit cold. Overall it wasn't a bad experience as the staff was very friendly, and since this is one of the few asian options available in Lake Tekapo, you probably won't be able to find a much better option.

Friendly staff and some very tasty Thai & Japanese food. Was there for dinner. This place is open till about 9PM which is a bonus as most other places close kitchens much earlier. There is a Thai as well as a Japanese Chef, so the cooking is pretty authentic. We had Sushi and Takoyaki for starters. Both of which is strongly recommended. The Tom Kha Soup was absolutely delightful. We also had Pad Se Keow and Gra Paow which were both nice. Portions are OK for the price. You get to add rice and/or noodles for some extra dollars to go with the soup or your mains.

Had the Tonkatsu and Chashu ramen. Good presentation but feel that it’s a bit overpriced for the portion (comparing to what we can get similarly in Sydney). Great portions for the chashu in the chashu ramen, soup broth could be more flavourful. I wouldn’t mind returning here for a ramen fix.

Came here out of the cold and wet, staff were very friendly and informed us of the 20 minute wait time. We got our table quicker than expected and the food was served promptly. The flavours of the ramen were rich and authentic, I would highly recommend the Tonkatsu broth along with the Takoyaki. After being coldly chased away by Kohan down the road, this establishment was a great find. Had a great dining experience here!

We suspect the owners rebranded the place from Thai Tekapo to Ramen Tekapo. My partner recalls the Thai being really average 6 years ago. We can now say the ramen here is good - flavoursome and salty Tonkotsu ramen. However, $20 for any ramen is crazy. There is no table service here, no atmosphere (unless Lady Gaga for music and Ramen is your thing), and expensive even if this restaurant had both these things. If they were appropriately priced at $13-$15 for this experience, I would give them 5 stars. But $20 is unjustified. Would rather make my own meal with groceries from Four Square!

Fantastic ramen! Definitely so of the best i have had in New Zealand. Really reminds me of the authentic, delicious ramen i've had in Japan. Tonkotsu Ramen was perfect, creamy and FULL of flavour.

This place was very good and clean. Although it looked Japanese but it had options of quite a variety of Asian dishes including thai. We ordered padthai , cashew saute curry and tomyum soup which were quite nice. The spice level are quite high so be mindful and specify right in the beginning if you donot eat spices. The staff is helpful and nice.

Ramen itself isn't anything special, but since it's the only ramen around Tekapo it's nice to eat something warm after a cold day walking the town. The gyoza is also quite good.

After reading numerous reviews my wife and I booked a table and our entire dining experience was memorably pleasant. The decor was simple and welcoming and the staff were delightful. We had the crispy pork for entree and both thoroughly enjoyed it. 5 stars. I have never had Ramen before in my life and was keen to try it for the first time. I had Tonkotsu Ramen, based on recommendations. I am anything but a connoisseur but absolutely loved it..full of hearty flavours and simply delicious. My wife had the Pad Krapow which she enjoyed. It has a nice level of heat, and though different to other Krapows we have eaten, very pleasant. We had a tasty tap beer, cocktail, entree and two mains and the total bill came to $80. Brilliant. My wife thought they would add a 15% surcharge as it was a public holiday. I felt sure they wouldn't...and, sure enough, they didn't.Full marks there again. Altogether it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience and I would recommend this restaurant unreservedly. Why a few reviewers have complained about overpricing mystifies me? Are they comparing it a street market or McDonalds? My ramen at $20 was totally filling and worth every cent and more. The entire bill was very reasonable. Well done Ramen Tekapo. We will certainly dine again next time we are in town.

Asian restaurant serving a mix of Japanese, Malaysian, Chinese and Thai dishes. They also serve alcohol and has an outdoor dining area. There was some construction work outside of the restaurant at the time when we dined in Jan 2020, and the wind and dust drove a group customers back inside. The staffs attended quickly to the situation which was worth noting.

This place is so unassuming and unexpectedly good. Most Japanese places are run by Chinese. This one is authentic Japanese in service and in flavour! The Tonkotsu ramen broth was extremely creamy, just as you'd expect to find in Japan!

(Translated) We ordered salmon ramen and char siu ramen, the only Japanese food we went to New Zealand. The ramen noodles are thin and the soup tastes average. The salmon ramen is very special. The salmon is fried first, with orange slices, the soup is refreshing, but not very accustomed! The barbecued ramen has a piece of barbecued pork, which is quite thick and delicious!
