Reviews of Sari Sari Filipino Kitchen
T.
In the heart of the busy central business district of christchurch, sari sari is offering different variety of Filipino cuisine with a mixture of some dishes that suites the taste of other nationality including kiwis.
This restaurant is a good go to place for trying out Filipino foods, for they have several unique Pinoy loved dishes like sisig, karekare, sinigang and many more. Furthermore, this place is so accessible and near to places like the bus station, and supermarkets. Staffs are also uphold a high standard of service and a friendly demeanour.
I really love their eat all you can menu tbh. But if I’ll choose my favourite dish it’ll be “karekare”
R.
If your craving for Filipino food! They never disappoint and they source out the best ingredients around, giving you the taste of the Philppines 🍽️
R.
Awesome service, beautiful food! Thankyou
P.
My family and i went here last week, and the food was very authentic (according to my Auntie who is Filipino). Their dishes were aromatic and flavoursome, and well sized. The lamb curry and hotplate pork dishes were especially delicious. The desert we had was like a panna cotta (a specialty of the Phillipines).
We all decided we'd come back again.
N.
Only been for lunch so far, excellent venue, and the food was simple, but delishious. Portion size is spot on, with a good price point. Will definitely be visiting more often.
D.
A great combination of carbs and meat thoughtfully put together. The portions were really good also. Would recommend trying the halo-halo as a dessert
T.
Had lunch and dinner with these great people and wouldn't get tired of catching up with them all over again in Sari-Sari Filipino Kitchen. We first tried the Filipino inspired food over lunch and went back again for dinner. There's no hesitation that we definitely would recommend it to people in Christchurch. Imagine the rich flavour of a Filipino cuisine but with an infusion of New Zealand ingredients and in a great plating presentation. It just feels so good to see the diversity of this restaurant's food. Great work guys! Well done and keep it up 🇵🇭🇳🇿
A.
Excellent place for authentic Filipino cuisine!! Love the ambiance and friendly staff! Will recommend and visit again.
H.
Best crispy pata I tasted, mussels were alright, ube drink was delicious. Highly recommended. First time here differently coming back. Worth every penny!
i.
It was great seeing a large family group enjoying themselves around a large table setting. It did set the scene. Tried the Crispy Pata recommended by a lot of my filpino work colleagues. It was very tasty. Wasn't a fan of the vinegar/soy dipping sauce. The skin was really crispy but thin. I guess the crackling is normally thin on a hock. I'm actually still leaning more towards the chinese crispy pork when it comes to pork crackling.
J.
Absolutely delicious. Went in with a group of seven to try the Monday-Thursday all you can eat option. Total bargain at 39$ a head, and you get given a list of things you can order to your table. We decided to try everything and we have absolutely no regrets. Everything was delicious. The drinks were great as well, the pandan milkshake was amazing and the mango lemon drink thing was super great too. As for food, crispy pata was my favourite, but the pork Adobo, chicken adobo, and sisig were all also amazing. Thoroughly recommend. A+ out of ten, we all had a great night.
C.
Been into a number of Filipino restaurants in NZ and by far the best Sisig and Sinigang we've tried so far! Wish we could come back to try their other dishes
M.
Good street food with some interesting choices
K.
It was our first time trying Filipino food. So delicious! Everything was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented.
Lovely staff - try everything especially the bbq pork skewers, sisig and Filipino style ceviche. You can also order a side of pork crackling (which we did!)
We ordered dessert as well - again delicious!
Highly recommend - would love to go again. Great value for money as the dishes are reasonably priced at around $20 a main.
B.
Fantastic lunch at reasonable prices.
Lovely tender "low and slow" cuts with tasty authentic sauces... If you like meat, the platter for two is great
M.
great service and food
we were a group of 7 and the booking havd 4 so whatever tne mixup they were quick to fix the situation
we complained the pork belly meal only had fat in it and they were very quick to fix the meal
Burgers were great and pretty sure everyone was super happy with their meal
D.
Me and my friends visited a filipino restaurant here in New Zealand for the first time and the experience was really awesome. The customer service was really great as well as the food. The waitstaff also gave us a free taste of all their ice cream flavours which we loved so much. We will definitely be coming back if we get to visit Christchurch again in the future. 😊👍
V.
Delicious well presented Filipino food. Ordered take aways of Crispy Pata, Sisig and Pancit Canton for Christmas dinner. Craving satisfied.
Would order again next Christmas from Sari-sari.
C.
Great tasting food, very affordable prices, good friendly staff, and wonderful entertainment by Apollo Torres and kids on Saturday evenings
J.
Yummy delicious crispy pata ordered from ubereats! Will look forward to order again because $$ but super sulit! Yum yum yum 🤤
S.
Amazing does not give this place justice on its food. Had a ube milkshake and will be making this a date night spot
T.
We visited Christchurch and wanted ti try a filipino resto. This place had a Cool atmosphere and friendly staff. However, the chef's special kare-kare wasn't anything special. It was a big portion. The beef was soft but the peanut sauce didn't feel authentic and the waitress forgot to give the bagoong. My friend had the chicken inasal and he said it didn't taste that good.
w.
The meal was yum I had the pork dish
A small restaurant wines are a good price it worth trying
J.
Great food and service they provide for the birthday party I attended
D.
Good small eatery with nice food and friendly staff

L.

W.
Delicious food,in a creative friendly atmosphere.Family orientated,a delightful place to refresh and eat
E.
We ended up here because Little High was chokka and I’m SO glad we did! The Chop Suey was delicious. Three mains and one medium rice bowl was enough for two couples. Plus it was a lovely relaxing atmosphere.
S.
Food was yummy and reasonably priced. We're 8 adults and ordered the Inihaw and Seafood Fiesta combo. Took the hassle of organizing what to order. Service was fast and they're one of the few restaurants open at 2:40pm on a Saturday.
W.
Fantastic staff. Cooked pork crackling on the spot. Warm and yummy. Fantastic . Will return for a meal as they were recommended by a friend. Did not dissapoint.
C.
I just ate the sweats they’re super delicious 😋
M.
Will be back! Meals are massive and can/should be shared. Belly pork was very tasty. Service was great but they can get a little too busy and slow to deliver if you're in a hurry.
C.
Excellent food and very authentic. Recommended!
M.
Had the crispy pata, really tasty and good portion size. Would like to try some of the other things on their menu next time
I.
Superb service, excellent food, great music is a bonus. A+++
Just had my wife's birthday dinner here. Food was totally fantastic and service was second to none. Highly recommend to bring all your family occasions here and enjoy an excellent experience.
P.
Really wonderful Filipino food. Relaxed friendly and great service. Great for lunch or dinner. Really loved the vibe, the flavours and the dishes. Everything we had was delicious and made with first class ingredients. A really special find tucked away in this trendy corner of Christchurch
k.
I'm Filipino and my partner is Kiwi, we enjoyed their Valentine Special Menu and we both LOVED everything! The Very Spicy Ginataan (pork in coconut cream) was especially DELICIOUS. We were impressed and awestruck by the way the beef from the Kare Kare just fell apart, it was that well cooked. And the salad appetizer and dessert are nothing to ignore. Will come back again to introduce more of our Kiwi friends and Family to Filipino food.
M.
Just go here and order anything on the menu. You won't regret spending your time here. Delicious Filipino food that will satisfy those who are after an experience.
Also, you MUST try their homemade icecream.
K.
Yum food and impressed with the banquet to share- great value and loaded with pork. Noodles were a great hit too - kids especially loved them. Will be going back
R.
Good modern way of expressing Filipino cuisine, nice and cozy.
D.
Really enjoyed dinner here tonight - good food and service. If you’re after a dessert I particularly recommend the Leche Flan - coconut flavours, the ice cream and the sweet custard went together well. Will definitely be coming back.
Z.
Good was delicious, ambience great, staff super friendly
I.
First time for us to try Filipino food and it was amazing, we love EVERY dishes we ordered!! Highly recommended!
B.
Delicious food and wonderful live music playing when we visited! You can tell that this place isn't just a restuarant, but a hub for the local Filipino community - a place for them to share their food, culture and talent amongst themselves and the wider community. A wonderful place and will visit again next time we are in Christchurch!
W.
Nice food, warm-hearted stuff, good value for money! PS: Students can get 20% off lol.
We got two scoops of home-made ice cream for free after having our desert and they are pretty good too. :)
J.
Excellent Filipino food very reasonable price
A.
Really tasty food and great service. I think it would be better with a bigger group of people so we can try many of their sharing plates.
G.
This is a fantastic restaurant. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you to the wonderful staff.
s.
Great service staff were friendly and attentive and keen on introducing the menu. Great location with ample parking around, located outside little high. Friendly to children. Great don't options.
N.
Had a great dinner here. Food was excellent and super tasty and staff were lovely and helpful. Would happily go back and highly recommend to others. It was also really well priced :)
A.
Really good tastey food.
F.
A nice introduction of Christchurch's Filipino food scene to the wife and I. I imagine the presentation and the taste we're tweaked a bit to cater for non-Filipino palates, and this may turn off some Pinoys looking for the comfort of the food they grew accustomed to, a good food is a good food. We love their subtle reinterpretation of my favorite kare-kare. We also tried their ube pudding, and the sweetness is just right, unlike what you'll expect in most Filipino desserts. The overall restaurant interior is also close to what we were imagining if we are starting our own Filipino restaurant. The only thing which stopped me from giving it a five star is the seemingly few food selection they have. For example, they don't serve our favorite dinuguan. We love to see them reinterpret this underrated Filipino dish.
A.
Best Crispy Pata in New Zealand so far, crispy and tasty. Generous serving and lovely staff.
J.
Delicious food and great service!
G.
Really love the food, good staff as well.
j.
Wouldn’t mind eating in this resto everyday, quality food!, reasonable prices, great atmosphere. Elevates the Philippine cuisine and infuses it with the local south island produce.
Very very good stuff 👌🏾
Highly recommend!
L.
My fiancée and I went there for dinner and loved it! They had great live music and the staff made sure we had a great time. We will go again.
S.
Not sure about the food, reviews look promising but the coffee was a fair way below standard I needed to go buy another one elsewhere.
V.
Very tasty food! Good size meal at a fair price.. Definitely recomend it.
N.
Thank you for an awesome acoustic session with the band last night, thanks for trying to know my requested song and allowed me to sing. By the way, the leche flan and ube pudding were so delicious!
K.
Nice restaurant and staff was friendly but the chicken bbq isn't authentic Filipino bbq.
M.
To me the the best filipino fancy restaurant ive tried maybe a little under cafe laguna
M.
Divine! The broth for the Sour Prawn Tamarind soup was delicious. The pork dish and the beef dish were both "I will be back" worthy.
E.
The ONLY thing you should order is the homemade ube ice cream! Creamy and full of ube flavor.
Their main dishes are overpriced and average.
G.
Great place to eat. Very helpful staff and food was just amazing. Most definitely a place a would go to when in Chc.
C.
Delicious! Standouts are Kare kare and Bicol express! Great service also. And the doughnuts if you get their in time!
