Ta fish & chips is my local. We go here maybe once a fortnight since we moved into the neighborhood. Every time we go it's consistent and well cooked, I usually get a sausage, a hot dog and one other item as well as a scoop or 2 of chips. It's great value going here, we feed 2 people well for less than $20. I enjoy Ta Fish and chips and will continue to go back frequently.

I tried a few things to get an overview of their food. The service was great, and surprised to see how many staff were on (5-6!). Nice chips, fish was nice, just to thick on the batter and the fillet was too thin. Corn nuggets were nice but slightly overcooked, as was the whole order. Oysters (Bluff) were also nice however, considering what they charge for half a dozen, it's disappointing they use the small seconds and charge a bit over normal price. The seafood roll was interesting/ok. It contains chopped up bits of seafood stick, mussels, squid rings and some veg. Overall it was OK.

Everytime I get my usual order of spring rolls and squid rings, always piping hot and tasty. Tip, phone ahead and then you don't have to wait for your tasty food.

Very friendly staff. Always greeted with a smile. No matter what you get it's cooked to perfection and tastes delicious. The burgers are huge and cheap and the fish melts in your mouth, best chips I've had anywhere. Now I'm salivating!!!

Been in the area for 2 years now, try this fnc shop first time tonight as it gets raved about. Fish was super thin, my batter on either side of my wafer was thicker. Chips were very good and cooked well, chicken nibbles were crumbled and had flavour, bacon and cheese burger was very ave, frozen fake pattie, it's a big let down for burgers. Overall, I did enjoy, will try again, hoping they read these reviews.

The fish is beautiful, the chips are awesome and the chocolate explosion doughnut's are amazing!!! They have recently upgraded to a lovely dairy milk chocolate and added some raspberry jam which absolutely makes theirs best chocolate explosion doughnuts in Christchurch!

Really generous with chips, half a scoop is enough for two people. Oysters a couple of weeks ago juicy and tasty. Really nice to have ChCh's "best fish and chip shop" just round the corner ;-)

Cash only! We were checking out when we realized they didn’t accept credit, and their debit reader wasn’t working when we went in. Really great value. Definitely recommend just one order of chips per 2 people. Also, the crumbed filets tasted much better than battered. Takeout only - no places to sit.

Was an OK tomatoe burger and a nice piece of fish. Add a can of Coke and the price was OK at $9.80. Clean and tidy shop. You be the judge.
