Party of 10 on Saturday Night. Had a fabulous time. Food was delicious, recommend the aged Beef Ribeye, Tuna and Pork Rissoles. Service was great, food was awesome and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Definitely will be back for more. Thank you for a great night!

This restaurant is lovely, and despite its busyness, it is still very comfortable. The staff is helpful, efficient and attentive. Food is DEVINE! There are too many choices, so I am not used to having too many choices in a non-specific restaurant, but this is a lot of money. In order to try as many flavors as possible, we chose 2 appetizers and 2 main courses (instead of the larger main course), shared a salad, and then put on a dessert platter. I still want to try too much, so I will come back

WOW!! That's all I can say. The food, the service,the ambiance,all first class. Believe me when I say, you have to go...... Please. It's a great foodie experience of unique and tasty Greek food. The lamb is literally famous,and for good reason.Its heavenly. Wine selection is fairly decent as is the cocktails.The Greek beer won't disappoint the connoisseur also. Definitely a must do if you are interested in typical European cuisine of the Mediterranean.

The food was generally good and portions are very generous. However, the service was questionable. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed (she had too many tables to deal with) and made several mistakes, none of which were taken responsibility for. Also, a very long wait between courses.

This was our first visit to The Athens Yacht Club, perhaps lured by the 1:1 free dessert deal! We are glad we dined here. The location is convenient, the decor is nice, the service was good, the food was authentic and delicious. What else can one ask for! No wonder that all the tables were full.. We were 3 vegetarians, and were well looked after by Judy. We shared breads and dip as a starter; gnocchi as main with a side of grilled asparagus & broccolini; and 2 desserts to finish. A wonderful night.

This place is fantastic! The staff are the best, the relaxed and friendly service makes you feel so welcome to be there. Add on top the fantastic food and great wine selection, then you really are in for a great start to the night. Possibly my new favorite restaurant in Christchurch. We ordered a variety of starters and mains to share and it was difficult to choose a favorite because everything was just simply amazing! Service was friendly and our food came to us in very good time considering the place was packed on a Tuesday evening. Cannot wait to come back for this amazing food experience.

We had delicious calamari and octopus for entree with very yummy halloumi cheese ang grilled pitas! For the main we shared delicious chicken, Greek moussaka, salad and fries "Greek way" .Beautiful and delicious Greek food!

Food is fantastic but customer service questionable. If you ask them 'what's your most popular drink here?' they will tell you 'the menu is right there...' which sorta detracted alot of the good food experience here.

We had a most enjoyable evening! The octopus was very tender and deliciously tasty! The kateifi prawns were amazing! Well done chefs for creating something new! Lighting up the saganaki is always exciting - my favourite. The lamb and the blue cod were to die for and the king fish was divine. As for the kateifi dessert - YUM! Emile and Becs are always wonderful hosts - excellent service all round.

The Lamb Shoulder was the meal the made my night. Feeds 2-3 People sorry I didnt get a picture as the meat just fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. Get there and make sure you book online. Great atmosphere and looking forward to our next outing there. Picture of my flaming Cheese 🤤🤤🤤

The food is nice a little overpriced. My personal service was mediocre. Over 45mins and 3 requests later to purchase a glass of wine I'd requested. Our ordered dessert sharing plate also took an age. It was/is too noisy to hold a decent conversation with anyone not right beside you. As it was our work function I left food satisfied but not experience satisfied.

Great food & our server was good. However, we had to wait for our booked table to be ready, which was squeezed in next to another large group. It made it cramped and their attention to detail was lacking, no wine or beer glasses on the table, we had to ask for water or any drink for that matter. Could have been better, sometimes less is more.

Great dinner with friends tonight (Sat 17th Oct). Service was excellent. Bar tender was great, our young server was very welcoming and attentive. Chefs have done a great job and service speed was perfect. Seriously good night and great staff. Sorry we stayed late 11:30pm. Had lots of fun. Well done guys.

We tried this restaurant because of its great reviews. We where not disappointed, thank goodness we tried to get in at 6pm they fitted us in on a table booked at 7pm. We ordered 4 entre as our tasting plates fantastic, as we where running out of time desert so we took home. It was a very busy highly recommend you book. Service,food excellent.

Having traveled many times to Greece we were delighted to find this delicious Greek restaurant in the center of Christchurch. Every course was excellent with outstanding service from Talia our waitress who is to be commended.

Beautiful atmosphere and acoustics. Very attentive staff and there is no delay on the food coming out. We enjoyed some olives to start which were fairly standard. Our entrees of pork skewers and grilled octopus were amazing. Tender succulent pork with an amazing lemon dressing made this entree one of the best we’ve ever had. Main was a lamb shoulder to share. Well, what can I say? This is the best lamb I’ve ever eaten in my life. Superb all over! We had sides of the Greek salad and roast potatoes which was all washed down with a bottle of Prosecco. We walked away from here satiated, there was no disappointment with the quantity of food served, it was the perfect size and I am a big eater! There was no dirty burger on the way home! All up this cost a bit more than we’d usually spend but it was worth every cent. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thanks team for a great night.

Absolutely fantastic night at the Athens Yacht Club. The food was five star - no words can describe how good it was. I'm Greek so I know good Greek food when I see and taste it. Everything was delicious from the starters, mains and the desert. Not to mention the delicious Mocktails. The staff were awesome too - very efficient and helpful and explained the menu in detail. Highly recommend.

We had our Social Club dinner at the Athens Yacht Club last Saturday. It was fantastic! The food was superb, service fantastic! Highly recommending to everyone to try this stunning restaurant! My personal highlight was the Spanakopita (Filo with spinach, feta, ricotta and dill) YUM. Our group of 15 all enjoyed their food which is a real good indication of great food served. I definitely will be back!

What great service. From the time I booked on line. Had follow up emails to confirm booking. The staff were very good. We had a person who can not eat garlic and onions, the staff helped work through the menu to select food we could eat. The kitchen staff even pointed out dishes that although did not have garlic or onions but due to cooking may have Cross contamination. We had the GF bread's and dips, prawn's and fries with feta and the garlic oil on the side. The food tasted great can't wait go back.

Had our first experience of the Yacht Club on Saturday night with friends from Dunedin. From the greeting to when we arrived, through the meal/wine service and the departure everything was fantastic. With the menu, some very interesting dishes and the staff were knowledgeable and happy to explain. Will be back again and recommending to others

We had a party of 13. Served banquet style. I guess you could call it tapas style or tasting plates. 3 courses, all coming with great tastes, more than sufficient in quantity; our collective bellies were no where big enough to do the vast quantities justice. Wait staff were efficient, friendly, discreet and well organised. I think it must have been their maitre D, interacting with our organiser (👍👍 to Louise) that made the whole evening a complete indulgence. Possibly the wine and beer list might have offered more choice, but that would be picky. It was very busy so ambient noise matched the guest numbers but never seemed overpowering. Possibly not quite the ideal venue for an intimate one on one but great for families, work groups etc. I'd like to visit again just with my wife to try a la carte choosing specific s There was no Ouzo-soaked table dancing which was nice too. I will definitely go again. Ps there is a car park entrance on Victoria St just south of the premises (which are the old Saggio Di Vinio). May the restaurant very much succeed. I will gladly return.

As always a fantastic experience. The food is stunning and the service and atmosphere is always a step above. This is definitely a leader in the Christchurch food scene. If only others set there standards this high. Saganaki, Octopus and White beans are start an amazing way to start a dining experience.

I dined here last Friday. My self and friend were so excited to have a Greek restaurant back in the CBD area... It was fantastic.. they have done such a great job of the fit out very sophisticated and we had an amazing time. We dined quite early but you definitely will need to book as the restaurant was full by 8pm!.Food was amazing. and so glad they had Greek music playing in the background all adding to the ambience.. An excellent place to dine, friendly helpful staff and superb food. And a good range of wines. The large platters to share were a great idea as some of our group have small appetites. We shared the starters, and veges (mmm those roasted potatos were delish) as well as a couple of mains, we were too full to try the desserts. Can't rave enought about the lamb - tender and juicy. Great experience: the food was excellent and with dairy free and gluten free options (among the others) available, which is very sensitive and made the choice easy as there were with us both a celiac and a dairy free person. I enjoyed every dish from the starter of grilled pita bread with the trio of dips to the finisher, more of which later. There was a delicious sharpness and freshness to the dips with a good variety of flavours. We ordered the "special" of mussels and this was beautifully crumbed and cooked and nothing stuck in my teeth - a very good sign. We shared the moussaka and roast vegetables which were excellent. One of my dining partners said she could have done with a tastier cheese, even parmesan but I explained that it would not be bechamel sauce as such anymore. She also commented that the Saragli (rolled up Baklava) was rather dry, being full of nuts, expecting it to be oozing honey. However I thought that it might be difficult to get the same amount of honey in a rolled up Baklava - it has a different name after all. Our other dining partner, being allergic to nuts, chose the vanilla bean ice cream which she duly demolished by herself. Overall for food, service, ambience and value for money, I rate this restaurant highly and will be back to sample other dishes

Christchurch is the winner! The Athens Yacht Club on Victoria Street is an oasis for anyone who loves Mediterranean dining that is not too fussy, but seriously delicious. The team has exceeded themselves to make a classy restaurant that is fun, affordable and friendly in a very relaxed chic environment. If I could give an extra star I would. This is easily the best place to eat in Christchurch for me. I'm a big fan of Octopus and these guys sure understand how to cook it right. Everything I've had here has been outstanding. Bonus that it's literally less than 100m from my apartment 😍
