This is our favourite local bar and bistro. The food is always consistently good and we have eaten here far too many times to count. They have a good selection of beers and wines, but most importantly the service is top notch. On summers evening you have to pop down for a beer in the sun. The second level outdoor patio is perfect to watch the sunset and enjoy the last of the summer wine. Highly recommend!

Very obliging staff. We called in on the off chance of a light meal before a movie we had booked at Silky Otter next door. We asked if it was possible to get one of their delicious pizzas 🍕 in 30 mins and the waitress replied ' I'll make sure you have it in 15 ' and we did. The place was pretty busy at the time too ( 6.30ish ) Went for the Mustang Pizza ( pulled pork etc ) which was delicious A cider and a beer were our refreshments, also well served Overall a very good experience ( By the way, they take covid seriously with a vaccine pass required for entry and masks worn by all of the staff )

My partner and I were so impressed with the friendly wait staff and service - it would be some of the best we have ever received. We bought a lot of food and drink and we were blown away by the value for money. Last but not least, the food was delicious - great pub food! It is well worth a visit.

I’ve been in this place only twice but tried different meals and I can tell you that are all tasty. However, my fave one is the beef rib - OMG, it’s perfect! The price is good, the staff is friendly and the environment is lovely. It’s quite busy, so make sure that you book a table before you go there.

What a great place. Staff that went out of their way for you to accommodate your wants and needs. Recently held a dinner for 28 seated for a 65th birthday. Just outstanding service. Tab on the bar and communication over that was great. Meals were out altogether, for 28 people, that's brilliant work. Costs were fantastic and I just cant fault them. Thank you Sue for your attendance to our needs.

my wife and I have been frequent diners at Wigram Good Home for the past 3yrs and in that time we have had nothing but amazing service , food and a welcoming feel. From when you first arrive there is a positive uplifting vibe from the staff and the whole establishment. We typically get the Holumi and Ceasar salads with the mussels to share with a couple of Coronas....divine !

Impromptu decision to have a meal out. The Good Home providing exactly what we enjoy. Delicious fresh fare, Pork Ribs cooked to perfection, a generous portion served with yummy wedges and coleslaw.. Likewise the Caesar salad 💯/ 💯 . Moist chicken, egg cooked to perfection all nestled on bed of crunchy Cos lettuce and supplements. Staff absolutely fabulous. Cheerful, full of fun providing excellent service. Prices very reasonable. Thank you. 🌹

Lovely place to bring the family for a meal. We dined here recently and the food was excellent, and they have a great range to choose from on the menu. Good value for money and the place is family/kids friendly. They were also able to cater for our dietary requirements of egg and gluten free meals. The restaurant is situated at The Landing Mall in Wigram with plenty of parking. Customer service was exceptional and we'll certainly be back!

Had a great dinner for my wife's 50th birthday. We had 30 people in our party & all meals came out perfectly. A huge shout out to our waiter, Dean. He was amazing & had such a wonderful personality. Thank you, 😀

It was ok. The food was good but the service wasn't great. The waitress didn't introduce herself or say what the soup of the day. The restaurant was about half full and the staff seemed pretty bored. It seems to be a family orientated place. Booking is highly recommended here. Multiple tv's through the area so you can always see the sports being played. Ample parking with disabled parking spaces. There is a disabled accessible entrance and toilets.

Our meals arrived promptly, but our coffees took forever to arrive - they arrived half way through our meals which was annoying so they got cold.....Then I discovered they hard given me cow milk instead of the requested almond milk - very annoying. The meals were reasonably priced which I liked but were nothing special to rave about taste wise.

March 2022 - the food is still delicious and good with consistent taste. Fantastic service too. However, the salmon is a bit smaller compared to other restaurants that serve up salmon dish (look at the photo that I taken). You might have a different experience than me and also, the food may or may not suit your taste. April 2019 - This is one of the restaurants located in Wigram. It is situated near the New World supermarket. The dinner booking was made a few days before and we were glad we made the right choice. The place was packed and full of people around 6.30 pm. Anyway, the place is well-lit and very cosy. It has a great laid-back atmosphere with reasonably comfortable seating. We walked in and were greeted by the staff. We told them our booking (just need to mention your name) and they took us to our table which faces the staircase. The place was warm, and you don’t need to wear the jacket inside. The staff were friendly and the waitress that served us was very helpful and made a couple of suggestions on what to order (this is my first time to this restaurant). There are two different menus; one for food, and one for drinks. They also have the specials which are not in the menu; in this case, the pan-fried salmon and venison. We ordered the garlic bread with jalapeno, one Mustang pizza, one salmon and one venison (medium). The dishes were fantastic, tasty and flavoursome. We were impressed with the garlic bread; we thought it was the normal style garlic bread but it turned out to look like a pizza!!! The taste was rich and flavoursome, and I 100% recommend to try it. The Mustang pizza was to die for [too]; cheesy, chunky diced chicken and…. Yummy. As for the salmon itself was ok; fresh and cooked well. The cooked salmon [fillet] does not have any flavour (it doesn’t seems to be marinated beforehand) and need to mix with the sauces to enhance the flavour. I didn’t try the venison and therefore, I can’t really comment about the taste. The plating/ presentation itself was impressive. Child-friendly restaurant. This is a licensed eatery and you can order the drinks 🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺. There is a small outdoor area but not for dining, only for smokers and drinking. There are plenty of parking spaces and also street parking 🅿. They accept cash, EFTPOS and credit card payments (with PayWave), for those who want to know. Would I go back? Yes. 😏 Would I recommend? Yes. 😊 Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. We all enjoyed all the dishes. Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Great atmosphere with a warm and welcoming feel. Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐out of 5. A group of 25 of us had dinner at the Good Home this evening. The staff were great, the meal was superb and the mezzanine room is fabulous for a group such as ours. The pork belly is the best I have had in a long time. Melted in my mouth and the crackling was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be going back again.

The restaurant itself is a very pleasant place to be. Good selection of alcohol and the general bar offerings. Family dinner chose the salmon, pork belly and kids cheese burger. The salmon was good lots of distinctly different elements in one dish. In contrast the pork belly was incredibly bland for some reason. It needs more of something something. Kids cheeseburger was very dry. Buns were not buttered, lettuce was not fresh. Wait time was noticeable even at 4:30 early dinner. Service was good. I'm happy to give full marks as the intention was good but I know the execution could do better.

We ordered several dishes for famliy dinner. It took quite a while to have our dishes so I had to ask once how far they were. While I was having my medium well steak I found it was a lot dried than I expected. However, they provided me new steak when I let them know about it. Serving was okay but looked very busy.

Extremely happy with the customer service, food and vibe of this place. We came here with a group of 4 adults and our german shepherd last weekend - dog was given bowl of water straight away. Service was fast (we came in the afternoon, so not during rush period), food portions are large (much much bigger than MANY other restaurants/bars in Christchurch), drinks were standard. Last point to add- the waitress (wish I got her name) was very accommodating :) Overall, would highly recommend this place and would be coming here often with our dog.

Great location, service and atmosphere but meals just failed to hit the mark. The Cajun calamari and dipping sauce were bland and chewy. Bread and dips were good but not enough bread for the dips and spreads. All our proteins were overcooked with the exception of the ribs. The salmon, pork belly and chicken were all dry. Such as shame as the meals could have been good otherwise. Deserts were good but I don't think we'll go back again.

Every now and then you find a pub that somehow manages to become an extension of your living room. The Good Home is one of those. The staff seem happy which shows in their service and modest, but, tasty food. I wouldn't neccesarily call it cozy but it is relaxing and a nice place to sit and while away some time. Many yarns and smiles to be shared with patrons and staff alike. Good brews, friendly staff, pizza, main meals and coffee. They did good here.

Good layout and the styling is pretty nice for a casual pub. I like the different levels because it gives it a more intimate feel- sometimes these big places can feel a bit overwhelming. The plant decor looks great but would be way better if they were real. The bar leaners are comfortable and in good positions. We went on a Sunday arvo and it has a good amount of people to give it a bit of a vibe without feeling full. The bar menu is broad and it came quickly. Fried chicken definitely could've had a bit of flavour added to it.. thanklfully the Mayo had some hot sauce on it. Staff are friendly, helpful and well organised. All in all it was a good place for a casual drink and catch up. Parking is also good.

The menu is fabulous with many options, and the drinks menu will satisfy even the most discerning tastebuds, something for everyone here...Joe who? Who's Joe?
