Reviews of The Lane

This was the first place we went to once I got picked up from the airport. It was Christmas day and most places were obviously shut. We were served by BugZ, who was hilarious, joking around with us as though we were long lost friends. We had lots of laughs. It’s a wee place with a nice relaxing vibe. Soon after sitting, we ordered our food, lots of options, which was nice, I had the French toast ($16). We were also given Christmas crackers so it was somewhat a cracking good time.

Cute brunch place! Food was yum and service was great. We got the roast lamb hash (the lamb wasn’t as prevalent as expected) and flat white (more of a cappuccino tbh). Portions are on the smaller side which I didn’t mind. Not bad overall 👍🏼

Have dined here a few times now and the service is always amazing, such a good vibe. The food had been really good with the menu items we had enjoyed in the past, however today we ordered the burgers and they were terrible, i'm sad to say. We ate them because you know, we were hungry and had places to be, but the patty was SO dry, the bread slightly stale, the sauce just not.a pleasant flavour and just WAY too sloppy to eat as a burger is intended. Really disappointing. Just wanted to leave this review so maybe they can improve this dish, because as I said the other things we have tried in the past have been great.

Beautiful hidden gem of Christchurch! Delighful food including a favorite of the night: one of the best fish dishes for balance of flavors we have seen in this city for a long time! Simple but really solid wine list and lovely service. Highly recommend!

10/10 food, drinks, service and overall experience.

Had a great meal at The Lane on a Saturday evening. The menu is Bistro orientated and a little different. Enjoyed the seared Scallops and Broccoli Doughnuts for entree. Enjoyed the Fish of the Day and the Chicken Schnitzel for mains. Dessert were limited but very good. Excellent modern venue. Excellent service. Great Kiwi tap beer. Great wine list. Free two hour parking close by.

We had a lovely night at the lane last night. Delicious food and really nice, happy staff. The fried chicken was yummy! Thanks for a great night guys 😀 Would not hesitate to come back again.

A lovely setting along side the river . The great vibe of a local market was matched by the delectable array of home made treats on offer . There was a local musician belting out some tunes for all those who chose to eat their purchases under the shade of the beautiful big old trees of riccarton bush Whether you're a visitor or a local it's most definitely worth a visit. Allow at least an hour and a half for your experience

Wow! great service and exceptional food. Went here for breakfast, plated beautifully and did not disappoint on the palate. We are from out of town…but will be back (can’t wait to try dinner menu)!
