Delicious pies, fabulous milkshakes and yummy food. Extensive menu of kiwi classics in a traditional cozy setting. Friendly helpful staff. Higly recommend.

I am a ceoliac so GF food is very important. We are regular a customer of jo,s. The staff are really lovely an try hard. Only one gripe i have the toilet floors always look dirty give them a scrub with jonola and disifectant an they will look clean again. It puts a downer on such a lovely place. And was said to improve the lovely place. Have since been back and thumbs up cafe. Improvements were noticed. So well done. And you had a wonderful young lady called charlotte to serve us A young bubbly professional and a great coffee maker. She brightened our day... Thank you...

Seafood chowder was so thick it was like eating paste. But had good gluten free menu and staff were very friendly and helpful with dietary requirements. Not many places are as knowledgeable and helpful. Good range of GF desert available too.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Read reviews before we went all were good. We wouldn't go back there. The cheese on our curly chips with the works wasn't melted. They also had a massive blob of sour cream on the top of them and very little chilli sauce. The sour cream would have been nicer in a dish on the side.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! My little family and I, dined in at Jo's Home Cookery on the 21-01-2021. Our meals were absolutely delicious and the service was soo welcoming. Highly recommended to all!!! If you are wanting a decent meal at a decent price this is the place to go in Dargaville. BY FAR THE BEST!!!

Went for lunch at 12.00 on 11.9.20 first food a sandwich arrived at 12.40 rest arrived between 12.45 and 12.55. Fish and chips were great. Steak sandwich cold in the middle. Service a shambles as others arrived well after us and got served hot food before ours came out. May try again another day. Not very well co coordinated I'm afraid.

We took our Red Cross volunteers there for a Christmas lunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The overall value for money was fantastic. They even gave us tea and coffee at no extra charge. The whole day exceeded all our expectations.

Perfectly cooked Dory today at Jo's home cookery. So many lovely choices on the menu too. We were a big group and the meals were served in a timely manner and the waitress was pleasant. A nice, warm place to go when the weather is wet and cold.

Okay, so you know how the taste of coffee almost never lives up to the heavenly aroma? Well at Jo’s Home Cookery the coffee was even better than the wonderful smell wafting through the room as we entered this warm and homey cafe. Big steaming mugs of coffee bookended an excellent breakfast of omelettes and toast. Friendly service, a can-do approach to individualised requests and a very pleasant atmosphere made this a most satisfying visit. Highly recommended. Five stars.

Been a 3-4 times now. A cosy family place with most delicious steak n kidney pies. I was in Dargaville Sat arvo from Whangarei ..4pm. Went to get a pie & it was closed with sign saying: 'reopening at 6pm'. So before we left for home I called & picked up two cold ones to have for dinner Sunday night..which I forgot all about. So today..Monday, I took my two pies..which Id heated gently..to my 80 year old friends for lunch and boy did we enjoy! She said..'we'll have to go over & get some to put in the freezer'. Pastry perfect as well. I guess I should try the mince as well but find it hard to go past s/kidney..these the best! I think theyve got better than the first time I tried..please don't change anything Jo! I want to know why two people have reviewed this place with one star without a comment even!?? Nice & relaxing on the deck if you have children, good wash room facities & pleasant enough staff. Good bags of potatoes too!

Lovely wee place, staff very friendly and helpful. I had Nachos, which were nice but not quite spicy enough for my taste. They are served with sweet chilli sauce, but as I don't like sweet things, gave it a miss. Great menu.

(Translated) I went up the Kauri Coast to Paihia, so I had lunch. I asked for the Jaws Everything Burger, but it turned out to be a tower. It was fun because it contained various ingredients, but of course I couldn't eat it. (Original) カウリコーストをのぼりパイヒアまでのあいだにあったのでランチにしました。ジョーズエブリシングバーガーを頼みましたが、タワーになってました。いろんな具材が入ってたので楽しかったですが、当然食べきれませんでした。
