One of a kind New Zealand culinary experience. Great food, hospitality and location. So good we went back for breakfast the next morning. Take your appetite!

The nostalgia, the memories, the moments created and moments shared all echo in the rustic surrounds of this 19 year old restaurant overlooking the beach and surrounding sea of Moeraki. While Fleur hustle and bustles around the tables touching the hearts of her guests, the friendly staff are tendering to your every needs the chefs are preparing todays catch and warming your tummy. The freshest of the local seafood catch are prepared and served to your table to delight your taste buds. This is an experience that deserves no normal review. The smell of the sea breeze or the the crackling of burning embers in the iron stove you will be captured by the temptations of your senses at Fleurs place.

Me and my wife recently visited Fleurs Place as we were staying locally for one evening. It had been highly recommended by a friend and quite simply it did not disappoint!. I would highly recommend for an incredible experience in an amazing setting and part of New Zealand. The price and taste of the food from start to finish along with some delightful local beer and red wine was outstanding!. Local Cod, with my wife having Clams it was that good we came back for breakfast the following day! The Staff are outstanding, friendly and engaging. What topped it off was the conversations we had with Fleur who was so friendly, hugely attentive for me and my wife to have a delightful experience. It's outstanding to know in this Covid world and the limitations on travel that we get to experience this in our own backyard!

I could have sat at fluers for hours, sipping wine by the sea. Eating delicious food and enjoying my time. It has a feeling of wanting to stay. Our fish dish was simple but yet done nicely. We went with blue cod and it was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. A must visit while passing through Moreaki

I am absolutely torn! The place is unreal! Beautiful! One of a kind! I didn't expect prices starting at $40, but I thought seafood.. Fresh fish, fair enough. . Staff is so nice! And! I have never eaten seafood and fish cooked so well in NZ! But! The portions were so small for the price! All the dishes are around $40-$45.. My cod in bacon was divine and I was happy. But my friend got the scallops and the portion was very TINY (see my photos). And when I saw the portions from previous photos on Google, we were really surprised. Same goes for the Fish of the day and Three fillets. If you look at the photos the portion sizes seem to change. We left disappointed. We all wish to love it but the portions were just "not that generous" as the waiter mentioned.

My husband came here and couldn’t stop raving about the food. On our road trip we decided to stop here so I could finally sample the menu. Well I was not disappointed, we booked a table a definite must do if you want a seat and to dine here. The chowder was delicious and I would highly recommend the trio of fish was amazing. Fleur was about greeting and chatting and the place had a great atmosphere and great food. Would highly recommend.

Worth the drive from Wanaka-and back! Enjoyed all the writings from customers on the walls and the food was as imagined- amazing... Oamaru city is also very special!

A gorgeous quirky place to visit. We had just eaten fish and chips from the nearby Fishwife, so we had coffee here.

Really nice fish. We got reccomended this place back in Auckland, and so decided to go when we were in Dunedin. It looks like a shack from the outside, but has the best interior. I had the triple fillets of fish and it was delicious. The prices are in the 30-50 range, so what you would expect at a high end restaurant, except it had the vibe of a local pub and in my opinion heaps more of an enjoyable experience than a usual high end restaurant. The staff were super friendly, we met the owner and she was really nice. Overall, I would highly recommend, and it also has great views, especially at sunset! Thanks fleurs place for the night out

The fish platter was soooooo good. Great value for the price. It came with 3 different types of smoked fish, smoked mussels, paua, pickled fish, steamed clams, steamed mussels and steamed scallops. The creamy scallops entree was amazing. Cooked in a creamy sauce served with different flavoured breads. By the time we finished the entrees I could hardly finish my main. Which was the fish and mussels pie. Ended up taking it away and it was still delicious for breakfast. Highly recommended.

The waitstaff are super friendly. Fleur is really nice and it's really nice to see her interacting with her customers she is a lovely person. The food is AMAZING. Well worth what you pay for. Totally recommend the sharing fish platter. All the food we had was delicious.

We had been eagerly looking forward to lunch at Fleurs. When we arrived at 12.30, the place was already buzzing with a couple of large groups. We were seated upstairs due to the gloomy grey skies and cold southerlies. We ordered our meals, which arrived in no time at all. The meal was delicious and the service was great. We even got to meet the famous Fleur. The building is fascinating with lots of "graffiti" on the walls, beams, etc, which kinda adds to the character of the place. We enjoyed our time here. PS - the coffee was nice with a smooth taste.

Fleurs has to be one of the best fish eating experiences I have had in NZ. You can almost taste the ocean. The sauces are delicately flavoured and do not take away from the fish. Instead it elevates it to another level! ( I am a fish person and eat it every time I go out to a restaurant).Have had very memorable food there and the owner is quirky, gorgeous and so in love with food it she radiates it. Just superb!!!! What a delight. We had no booking but the found room for the two of us. Lunch was the fish platter for two with gorgeously cooked veges, accompanied by Peregrine sav and an Oamaru lager. Devine.

Totally amazing meal, service, and surrounds. We’ve waited a long long time to be able to visit Fleurs restaurant and it was worth the wait. We enjoyed Titi (mutton bird) cockles and mussels plus wine and desserts. Fleur took the time to come say hello and reseated us to a table with an amazing outlook when one became available. Absolute must 👏👏

Absolutely beautiful experience at Fleurs tonight. Staff were professional and efficient. Food was to die for (we had blue cod fish of the day & blue cod wrapped in bacon), generous portions and reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere with candle lit and seated by the old coal range fire. Highly recommend. We did take our daughter and the kids menu is limited for fussy eaters - probably better to just enjoy a night away from the kids here :) can't wait to come again

Absolutely wonderful. Super fish meal, kids had steak and risotto which were also very tasty. Great service, friendly staff, fantastic ambiance and Fleur herself was a joy to chat to. Put this on your itinerary if you love good seafood and wine and, whilst worth it, it's not cheap.

We had soup and mussels. It was fresh and yummilicious!! Reasonably priced. Met the owner Fleur, she is friendly and warm. She even autographed the book we bought! Great service. Must visit and dine!!!

So glad we made the detour to come here for brunch. I had the blue cod fillet. It was so delicious and fresh. Some of the best fish I've had. The views from the cafe were great - so nice being able to look out onto the harbour and see all the boats that were bringing in the freshly caught fish!

A little rustic restaurant facing the ocean which offers exquisite dishes based on local ingredients. The authentic highlight is the fresh fish prepared according to the catch of the day. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the views outside stunning, the food and wine superb. The staff are very kind and helpful too. Highly recommended!

This is an amazing experience, both ambience (indescribable) and delicious food offering. We didn't realise that fresh fish, cooked to perfection could taste like this. Meeting the little "force of nature," Fleur, was an absolute delight.

Imagine serving some of the best food on the planet, to a room full of people, night after night. I have been every two years now since 2014, the wait is torture, and the anticipation is extreme. The delivery is never a disappointment. Fleurs is my favorite restaurant bar none. Absolutely excellent food, done simply and superbly. I can vividly remember each meal I've eaten here. You have to try the mutton bird, it really is delicious, have one to share for a table. Fleur is lovely to talk to, for example how to cook your mutton bird. She even let's you sign the walls. Not to be missed. You have to make a booking!

The reviews have been great, the best ever from the mates and Rick Stein, yes the famous Rick, says this is the bate. So will it live up to its rep? When expectation is set so high, it has to be really good to score, and all I can say is it did more. Everything ticked the box and not to go here is going to be your loss. Food, ambience, location, staff and chef were all 5 star. Well done Fleur. One year on, now Nov 2020, we returned and all that was stated last time still applies.

Something authentic to the area. Very popular place by locals, if you are a lover of fish, for sure you should try it. The view from the place is great I even got to see a seal. Dessert was amazing, the soups are delicious and super big! There is seats in the inside and outside, and only 1 bathroom.

Had the pleasure of a superb lunch a couple of weeks ago on a beautiful winter Sunday. Amazing atmosphere, fantastic service (really friendly staff and fast service even though it was packed) and quite simply the best seafood meal I've ever eaten. So good it's worth flying to Dunedin just to visit Fleur's. The 3 of us shared a fish tasting platter and a whitebait fritter. Out if this world. Cannot wait to go back some time.

Not actually at Fleurs but have been there and it was lovely. Visited a place across from there. Moeraki is gorgeous.

This place make you feel like you are visiting close friend. The foods served are fresh and very authentic delicious western recipes dishes. It's definitely not like when you visited modern and commercials restaurant in the city where they place too much on presentation and their taste are fusion- like. But here you find that the foods served are like it was specially prepared for you. We had a wonderful and pleasant experiences and we enjoy every minute of it. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to enjoy it.

Nice and fresh seafood served by this restaurant. It is one of the best restaurants we have dined in our entire NZ South Island trip. Will definitely go back again if there’s an opportunity and highly recommended! The people are also very friendly and service is top notch! Oh forgot abt the nice desserts as well.. while doing this review I am reflecting and imagining about the food and that makes me hungry.. haha! We actually came to this restaurant upon the recommendation from our Airbnb host after visiting the Moeraki Boulder Beach.

Fleurs Place oozes rustic charm. Beautiful setting and delicious fresh fish restaurant.

very tasty fresh seafood. And decent quantity. 4/5 for taste and 3/5 for value. very nice service. a tad expensive though. 52 $ for a single person with a drink. Enjoy. 15/3: Visited with friends. Had groper fillet, trio fillet, and squid linguine, with apple cake and creme brûlée. Food ws good but at 46$/ dish , that’s expensive. Overal 2/5 for value n 4/5 for taste. Once probably..

With no doubt is my favorite place to have dinner in New Zealand. The food is just spectacular , specially fish and seafood as well as the dessert. The views are stunning and you can’t miss going to eat at Fleurs specially if you are in Moeraki. The staff is really friendly and Fleurs is most of the time around and will come to your table to check if everything is going well. Is a very unique ambience and decoration in the restaurant that is worth it to go and check it out. We’ve been 3 times to Fleurs and more to come as the menu is often changing depending on the catch of the day and the season. If you haven’t been there yet , you can’t miss it , you’ll never regret it.

I had my birthday lunch there today. It was a lovely sunny but windy day and we managed to have a table right away (pandemic climate). We sat outside and enjoyed our fabulous food (tasting plate for two). The fish is so fresh, a bit of dill and lemon juice suffice. The view is incredible, the wine marvelous and the service perfect. Will be back for my birthday next year😉

We had heard so much about this place and it certainly lives up to expectations. Gorgeous place in a lovely bay. Big portions of amazingly fresh fish with great accompaniments. Friendly and efficient service. I wish I could come here every week.

Always fabulous, Fleur's is a jewel. Delicious seafood that never dissapoints. Blue cod, whitebait, scallops, mussels, and more all locally caught and sourced. Make sure you visit!

A must do! I have been dreaming about this place since I first went 7 years ago. Can confirm - it is still delicious 😋 I had the whole mutton bird and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had the fish of the day which was moki and it was also very scrumptious! If you're in the area it's worth every penny! Make sure you book early if possible!

Wonderful and friendly people, excellent service, phantastic location with balcony and outside seats (sea view all around), phenomenal food (with a wide selection of freshly caught fish from the bay), and last but not least, very reasonable prices. For me, this is a clear must visit if you are in the area. I did not have a desert, but they also looked delicious.

You cannot drive passed without stopping in! Hands down the best restaurant and one of the best locations in the country. Fleur has done a magnificent job! Seafood Chowder was 10/10

If you're lucky like we were today you can sit outdoors and enjoy your amazing meal. Inside is warm and full of interesting signatures! Wonderful experience.

It's hard to fault this place. Beautiful well kept building with a view, great service oh and then there's the food. It's fresh, well made and delicious. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because we would have loved an entrée menu or a bigger sides menu to order more seafood on the side.

Coffee was DELICIOUS!! Orb is my new favourite in nz leaving c4, hummingbird and even Allpress for dust - at least for milk based espresso drinks! Great flavour - and the guy here made it perfectly! I had a side of sautéed potatoes and a side of bread with oil n balsamic - both really lovely for a starch and carbs lover!!! Very yummy!! I’m allergic to sea food, but I could see the food was very good and my I was with friend is a well seasoned chef and loved it. Good stuff!

I'm always sceptical when i see somewhere with such a high rating off so many reviews, but fleurs place is one of those rare places that has earned every star! Go expecting to pay but also go safe in the knowledge you'll get your money's worth! Fleur was wandering the restaurant and charming to talk with, look forward to next time!

This is a must visit place if travelling north of Dunedin. Only open Wednesday through to Saturday at present. Seafood is amazing and the buildings character makes for a memorable experience. A bonus was meeting the legendary Fleur on arrival as I had done several years earlier. A true Kiwi legend.

Best fish restaurant in whole New Zealand ever. Portions are extremely big and super delicious. I've tried more types of fish than I did through my entire life.

It's hard to know where to begin with how wonderful this restaurant is, everything was gorgeous; the building itself is lovely and atmospheric with quirky touches like a vintage hand dryer in the toilets and nautical decor. The staff are absolutely lovely and really helpful, they went out of their way to accommodate us. Also, the food was some of the best I've ever tasted, the potted eel starter was so delicious I want eat it everyday and the trio of fish was outstanding. I think the price was incredibly reasonable for the quality of food!

Not much to add to all the 5 star reviews. Except to say we've eaten here a lot over the last 4 years and never, ever been disappointed once with the food, it's presentation or the venue itself. It can get busy at times and booking is usually recommended to get a table. Note they do serve other than fish and seafood in case some people in your party can't eat fish. But it is for the seafood offerings that we go.

Have had several meals here all of them exceptionally, but today really disappointed with the seafood chowder, lack of flavour. Service always excellent

Heading down the Coast we made a spontaneous decision to try our luck at the infamous Fleurs without a reservation. Although fully booked she made room for us to dine in her seaside restaurant full of character. The meals were very generous sizes and the best seafood we have ever tasted. Coffee was amazing. Will defanitely be stopping in again...With a reservation this time. Highly recommend this seaside restaurant.

One of the highlights of our New Zealand trip so far. A lovely restaurant in a beautiful spot, and the food was spectacular. Service was excellent and Fleur herself welcoming and solicitous. We left extremely satisfied on all fronts. Considering what we had, the bill was very reasonable. Would come again in a flash!

Outstanding for fish lovers. Make sure you book and sit inside .... if you can’t come back another time. Just not the same in the wind. Inside has an incredible view and ambiance with service and food and wine to match 😋

Definitely recommend this place to anyone going north of Dunedin. I had incredibly fresh blue cod cooked to perfection and it was thoroughly delicious. The place is this crazy shed with stories left from hundreds and hundreds of past patrons, and is really interesting and unique. Fleur is a wonderful lady who will stop and have a yarn with you and if you're not careful you'll be talking for hours! Amazing place, you should go eat there!

If you know how Muttonbird tastes like and if you found it was okay before, have Titi at Fluers Place--It is definitely a must try!!!!! Didn't enjoy the chowder and whole fish though.

I loved everything about it! The food , the views the comments written on the walls the staff were friendly the Fish pie amazing....Absolutely superb! Will definitely be back. Kicking myself I didn't purchase Fleurs recipe book whilst there but will buy online.

Wow. Spectacular setting for well made, heart centered food that is gourmet but simple. The daily catch comes to life with local ingredients. The fennel is grown right in the garden and the waves wash right up to about 3 meters from the door. We even met Fleur! She was super friendly. They had a fire going in the stove while it gently rained outside. I felt like we had been transported to Harry Potter! Shell cottage where they hung out with Ron’s brother Bill and his wife Fleur. It’s literally the same: “Bill and Fleur's cottage stood alone on a cliff overlooking the sea, its walls embedded with shells and whitewashed... Wherever Harry went inside the tiny cottage or its garden, he could hear the constant ebb and flow of the sea, like the breathing of some great, slumbering creature. He spent much of the next few days making excuses to escape the crowded cottage, craving the cliff-top view of open sky and wide, empty sea, and the feel of cold, salty wind on his face.” Will often dream of the delicious trio of fish and the cold platter was served in shells. Fresh baked bread made with sun dried tomato and turmeric and rye. The chowder with a tomato base was creamy and full of fresh muscles and bits of fish. Loved the cold platter with about 10 different kinds of fish. I tried to finagle a return trip the next day on our way home. Recommend calling ahead for reservations. Moeraki boulders are a nice stop over to explore afterward when you’re full to nearly bursting.

Oh my goodness all round best place we’ve had dinner for a long time. Friendly and attentive service, absolutely delicious meals, great drinks menu and lovely ambience. We sat in the little nook by the fire. Although it’s not the cheapest place it was absolutely value for money. Can’t wait to go back.

Fleurs lives up to its reputation every time. The fish dishes are great, as everyone knows. The deserts were great too. A special shout out for the service/ hospitality, which may go unnoticed because it appears so effortless, genuine and natural. We only had to look up, for one of three waitresses to come over and help. I could not imagine planning a trip to the South Island without visiting Fleurs. Thanks to all the team. ❤️

The best seafood I've eaten in my life, without a doubt. Worth the short drive off the main road. Would recommend booking but if you can't get in, it's worth still turning up to try your luck -- you may get a recently cleared table as we did!

Lived up to expectations. Lovely food and good company. Very lucky to get a table upstairs. Suggest try to book but friendly reception if you just walk in Location is unique on a fishing wharf overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Naturally enough seafood is the speciality. Clear was there plus photos of other famous chiefs that have eaten there. Cost was reasonable for what it was. Great place to go if you love food and like an interesting atmosphere. We went to lunch in October so book if not shoulder seasoned also if you want to go in the evening.

What a great spot. Literally at "the end of the road". We arrived without a reservation and were lucky enough to be seated immediately. Don't chance it like we did. Call ahead for a table. Atmosphere galore. Great attentive staff. Fleur was there and came over and said hello and helped us pick out the cheeks and wings of our baked blue cod. Very simple, perfectly prepared fare. Exquisite, wonderful dining experience. Can't say enough nice things about Fleurs Place. Thank you!

Beautifully fresh seafood cooked simply but with a delicious result. In good weather its great to sit outside and enjoy the views. Friendly, helpful staff and Fluer is always drifting between tables ensuring the standards are top notch.

Best seafood restaurant in New Zealand the only one I've been to that's comparable was in Reunion Island near Madagascar. The most fresh delicious fish cooked to perfection, scallops to die for and great cider to wash it all down, will most certainly be back. We were lucky enough to get a table at Fleurs place while we were traveling through Moeraki, on our way to Lake Tekapo. (However I highly recommend booking a table as it gets super busy and many people after us were not as fortunate). This place has some of the best sea food I have ever had. Fresh, tasty and generous sized portions. Me and my husband arrived for an early lunch and had a scallop dish and a bread platter between us. We also got some treats to takeaway, which was the best decision - Fleurs chocolate Brownies are like nothing you have ever tasted before! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitley be stopping by.

Building has tremendous character and a superb waterfront location. Generous portions of delicious wholesome food. Warm, service. Highly recommend!

Our last night in NZ tonight and reflecting on our 10 day stay in the South Island I would have to say that our Wednesday lunch at Fleurs Place was like finding the pearl in the oyster. We booked a couple of days before hand and so glad we did as the tables filled as quickly as they emptied. Our 2 course seafood meal was absolutely stunning and to top that we had the ultimate pleasure of meeting and chatting with the inspirational and inimitable Fleur. What a strong, courageous and amazing visionary. I shall cherish my signed book and that whole unforgettable experience. Cannot recommend a visit highly enough.

Astounding lunch .. Ambience with heart

This place is magical, feels like taken from a book or a movie. We found it coincidentally on our stop in Moeraki and couldn't resist stopping for a quick lunch. It looks very peaceful and inviting from the outside but inside is full of interesting decorations and small touches. The staff is very nice and Fleur personally checks with the patrons if they enjoy their day. The food is amazingly delicious, make sure visit if you are driving nearby!

Stopped off for lunch at 'Fleurs Place - Moeraki' and ordered the 'Tasting Plate for Two with Five Fillets of Fish'. We thoroughly enjoyed the subtle flavoured pieces of fish with steamed vegetables and 2 sauces, Caper & lime and Chilli coconut & coriander. Wonderful meal, wonderful location, friendly helpful staff and we were fortunate enough to chat briefly with Fleur herself. A Cafe & Bar Restaurant that you must include as 'a must go place' if not to eat, but just to have a coffee and read the penned writings on the walls or absorb its ambience as you walk through the building and take in the views from upstairs or even just loitering outside on the grounds. Definitely we will return.

Wow! What a location on a promontory overlooking the Moeraki harbour. You can look out at the fishing boats that caught your meal. Fleur is a famous Kiwi chef and restaurateur. Seafood to die for! 😍❤❤❤

Fleurs place is full of interesting things to look at..from all the client signatures all over the walls to the tastefully selected nik naks. The food is wonderful we had the fish of the day platter and I never knew fish could taste so good. Our waiter was both knowledgeable of the menu and very friendly. I will definately be back.

A truly excellent restaurant in a marvelous setting. The building is a converted shed surrounded by query and is surrounded by quirky items. There are great views of the town and the beach where the Moerarki boulders are located. The restaurant only cooks the local daily catch and the chef does a magnificent job. My wife and I had an excellent meal and would gladly return regularly if it weren't for the trip across the Tasman sea we would need to make. Cheers

My wife, our daughter and I recently had a late lunch at Fleur's Place. The food was very good, the atmos was busy but pleasant and the staff were efficient and courteous. The food was served quickly and attractively presented. Fleur even had a few moments to chat with us which was nice considering how busy the place was. We would definately go back.

Exceptional fish, well worth a visit

We enjoyed it so much the first night, we came back the night after for more. The space is inviting and warm, the seafood was delicious as advertised. Service and staff are fantastic. Fleur is full of personality - quick with a smile and a glint in her eye.

Fish was amazing! We had the 3 fish sampler, and it was so good that we wished we had ordered twice as much of the fish. We did not enjoy the titi-mutton bird - very salty and tasted somewhat fishy - but we are glad to have had the experience of eating it. Very nice decor, good service. Expensive, but with it for the good fish.

We spent a relaxed couple of hours at Fleurs Place for a special occasion. The food was, overall, good....but not excellent, the service fine, but not excellent and the wine (IMO) was overpriced. I chose a fish dish because of the scallops that came with it, as it was a long while since I had had them. Expecting them to be fat, sweet and tender, a colourful orange and cream, what was presented shocked me, they were four tiny (size of my thumbnail) ‘things’, greyish in colour and bitter to taste...so disappointing. They didn’t add anything to the dish, in fact they took away from it. The mussel entree was the closest to ‘excellent’ and the desert was pretty good.

Sensational, of the beaten track but well worth the journey. Great chowder!!

Lovely lunch at Fleurs place. Excellent food

A cold rainy Wednesday morning in October ... Fleurs Place provided a warm haven of genuine rustic charm overlooking the bay. Service was courteous and efficient, our vegan risotto was of generous proportion and delicious ... it took a while to arrive which was a good omen, fresh and well worth the wait. If the restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived, it was full of diners by the time we left. What a lovely experience!

Second visit to this amazing spot. Recommend booking or arriving early. Fleur is friendly and the best hostess. The food is delicious and more ish. Dishes are big but Fleur's team won't let you over order. Go with an appetite. The views are spectacular and fascinating sculptures and artwork to look at. Recommend taking the time to have a little wander around. Amazing gin selection too.

Great coffee & cake with a stunning view. We had two flat Whites and shared a caramel oat cake with cream. We sat on the first floor balcony watching the fishing boats bobbing in the bay. Plus we even saw Fleur - celebrity! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious meal - fish was beautifully cooked and very freshly caught (we had the leather jacket which was a catch that morning and isnt that common on the menu). Service was superb and the location is beautiful. If you are visiting Moeraki boulders then make sure to book a table (and booking is a must!) - you will probably enjoy it much more than your walk on the beach!

It was always going to be difficult to live up to expectations given Rick Stein's comments and the number of people who told me how great it was. I was expecting amazing food and poor service, but in fact the service was brilliant. They found a spot at the bar despite all tables being booked up, and the food turned up very quickly. Problem was that the food was only average for any restaurant, let alone one with such a high reputation. Glad I went, but probably wouldn't go back if in NZ again.

We are lucky enough to save hard and get out to NZ every couple of years. When we do, we ALWAYS come to Fleurs, and in nearly 15 years, the standard of welcome, of staff, of pure, unmitigated gastronomic pleasure has NEVER slipped, not once. It's an unqualified highlight of every trip, and this visit was no exception. There is no debate, if you love the freshest food cooked to perfection, and served by passionate folks, who are proud and excited to give you a great meal experience, then you owe it to yourself to come and see your expectations exceeded. 2 years till next visit, and I'm already excited about it, to the lovely local folks who can visit more often, you have my eternal jealousy, you are very lucky souls.

The place was pretty pricey but an absolute delight! Loved the fresh seafood and their mission. As a student group we got to talk to the owner about her support for coastal restoration/protection in general. Huge respect for her work.

This place is a little palatable restaurant with a good quality of food and atmosphere. I liked it very much. The dishes is well cooked. The restaurant is very cozy. The waitress is very friendly. I love the view outside the window. It is very peaceful. I would like to go there again.

A fantastic. Old building with lots of historical artifacts as well visitors graffiti on walls and by the way a truly fantastic restaurant with awesome food. Dining outside upstairs overlooking the tiny harbour and big sea just metres away is an experience you will remember for a long time.

Fleur is a legend and with good reason. With a party of six there were literally six fillets of fish on the table, each slightly different (snapper, skate, monkfish, gurnard, etc.), and each excellently prepared. The lemon caper sauce is an exquisite accompaniment and I highly recommend it. The house made breads were varied and delicious and the pate was sublime. Service was excellent - attentive and available without hovering. For dessert the date pudding was a moist sweet decadent indulgence that should not be missed. And Fleur herself is an absolute gem, she stopped by and chatted with us for a little bit as our meal was coming to a close. This is not a meal you want to miss, make sure to book a table in advance and if it is out of the way I can guarantee you it is worth the trip!

A must stop in Moeraki. First of all the place is wonderful, you step in a fisherman house, you can eat outside and it’s just feel so homy like if you were eating in the coolest backyard. Beautiful setting inside and outside (on a sunny day). Owner and staff were attentive and let me in as soon as they saw me. Wait staff gave me the menu when I asked for it on my way in. Not a cheap restaurant to eat in but very nice on those special occasions. Worth every dollar spent.

Stopped in for a coffee. It's off the main route South but well worth stopping at. The location is fantastic. Great views. The staff are great too. Friendly and helpful. And Fleur was on hand working the floor as well. Definitely a destination.

Been there last year and the sea food chowder I would had given it 15 out of 10 But last week we stopped on our way to Elton Johns concert Fleur was lovely as always the service was great but I feel the chef may have changed as the chowder tasted as if the sauce had came from a can I was very disappointed Also the trio of fish did not reflect the 46 dollar we had to pay as the the shell fish were as small as my little fingernail as well the vegetable storks were very hard to cut

The best meal we have ever had, period. The service was great and Fleur personally checked on us to make sure we were happy. Every time we are in this part of the country we always anticipate a visit. This is our favorite place to eat.

Wonderful place to get fresh fish

This place came highly recommended by the locals, but... The hostess and manager that day were dismissive of me when I arrived, spoke about me as if I was not there, debated if they had room for me because a big group of sixty was arriving in 3 hours and then finally decided to seat me upstairs. There was no music, the servers were chatting away about their personal lives while I was trying to enjoy myself and my server never returned to offer me wine although I had specifically asked him to after my soup was served. THE SOUP WAS DELICIOUS, however I would have spent A LOT more money there had I felt welcome, which I obviously was not. The atmosphere was less than professional and definitely not hospitable...at one point a server rudely said no when I asked if they had wifi. It is a beautiful setting, but it could use staff training and a refresher course on what it means to be in the hospitality industry. My local contacts were all very surprised when I related this experience, apparently the owner would never tolerate this behavior, but in her absence...

This place is a "must-stop" if passing Moeraki for lunch. A unique venue and setting (right on the water), fantastic fish menu, great staff and good parking available. I've seen this place on TV and when you go there you'll see why.

We were meet by Fleur and she was a warm, friendly and engaging hostess. The Bluff Oysters were a magnificent entree that truly lived up to their reputation. A thick Blue Cod with mussels baked within the fillet topped with crispy fried anchovies, steamed vegetables and a butter sauce was deliciously hearty, capped off with a great bottle of NZ sav blanc. Superb. A truly memorable first experience that won't be our last.

A must stop on your South Island road trip is the Moeraki Boulders and Fleur’s Place. Try to catch a sunrise. Remember to book in for your O so awesome fish dish.

A beuitfill old style wooden building right on the sea side, apparently has good seafood but all I know is the lamb was amazing, and the beer goes down a treat. I will definitely go back when in the area

Fresh food done well. You can't get fresher or more local food than this. Not recommended for those with fish or seafood allergies, but even then they will have an option for you.

It was our first visit - wasn't disappointed! Fleur spent time with every customer - no one was treated any better than the other; each was just as important. She took the time to explain the menu, the fish, shellfish and the techniques. No-one was made to feel unimportant - taking my husband the next time as he woul enjoy the fishermen returning - in fact I can see him trying to manouver his way onto the boat the next morning. Blue cod fantastic, but a few bones which means only 4 stars. Wonderful customer service with Fleur her usual gregarious self.

Freshest fish around. Not the cheapest by any means. But that is because it is sourced locally. When we sat down I think some baulked at the prices. The serves are decent in size. For the location and the local produce, support for the local economy, its worth it.

Interesting place, definitely worth a visit. We only had coffee and cake which was good. Staff are really friendly. The place is a restaurant and the menu had some interesting options.

The food was good. Cool place but Fleur was an amazing host. Got around everyone and gave a history of the foods origins.

went for dinner with 2 others, meals overpriced, however cooked perfectly, the wait staff are on the ball, seagulls do annoy and needs something done about it.

Steak was fantastic. Fish was nice too. A bit expensive, but considering the place and view, it is worth trying once at least.

We order the seafood platter and a half bowl mussels. Big meal. Delicious. Big and delicious mussels.

Although there are not many places to have a good meal in Moeraki, Fleurs is above the ordinary eatery. Beautiful food, well presented.
