What a find. Chic interior design with origami and maple trees inside. Comic books for you to read. Authentic Japanese chicken Ramen comes with clear or creamy soup base. The ramen bowls are super tasty and filling, we couldn't even finish a portion. Small dishes are really nice too, go really well with the ramen bowls. Chicken soup is thick and yum, the smell is heavy. Cocktails are nice and creative with a Japanese hint. Friendly and attentive staff is always a plus. Worth mentioning that their Tacowasabi is really fresh, especially compared to what we had last night at the isakaya Yuki, taco is crisp and chewy. Will definitely come again, thanks for the amazing meal.

I've been here more than 20 times and I'm 100% confident that this is the best ramen place in Dunedin and possibly NZ. As someone who has been to Japan, my ramen expectations is quite high and this place manage to satisfy my cravings sufficiently. Do note it's a chicken ramen place so do not expect tonkotsu although their chicken ramen is as thick as I expect it to be. One interesting discovery is thier vegetarian ramen. It's really good! I sometimes go for this instead of the chicken ramen if I feel like eating abit healthier. For both, I recommend the creamy version. Mazesoba is also really nice. Though I prefer if I can have the Mazesoba noodle in my soup ramen. Just a fan of thicker noodles!

Nice environment and good service. The Tokyo authentic soup style is a bit salty (as the name suggests it is as salty as authentic noodle soup one finds in Japan). I was among the first customers when it opened and was not impressed then. But this time I am happy with everything, especially the consistency of noodle softness (added extra noodle).

The ramen was lovely. The soup suited my taste, warm and silky. It is not very salty and no additional seasoning needed. The chicken was tender. I could see that the egg was marinated. I tried to eat slowly to savour the creamy broth and everything in it but I couldn't 😂 It was very delicious.
The atmosphere was nice. Colourful Japanese decorations with the chairs and tables comfortable to sit at. I love the Japanese music being played, when I came in I recognised Yonezu Kenshi's song 'Eine Kleine'. The waitress is very friendly and kind.
My suggestion is maybe the ramen could have more noodles. I finished the ramen noodles before I finished the toppings 😆 Other than that, everything else is perfect. I would recommend my friends to try Takeichi.
Thank you for the experience ❤

One day I came here hungry and ordered their Nouko Tori Paitan Ramen. It was the best I've ever had in my life. The broth was full of umami burst. Naturally I thought I was just hungry. So I had to come back another day. And I concluded that, it was not hunger. It was indeed the broth.

Fantastic place to eat. Highly recommended!!!
Great service and amazing food.
You won’t regret it. This place should be at least 4.8 stars/ rating.

This is the best and most authentic ramen I’ve had in NZ. Do not come in expecting it to be like instant ramen lol. We got the creamy chicken soy sauce/creamy chicken miso and they were both amazing. The broth is so tasty and they put plenty of toppings and an actual soy sauce egg! We had the nicest waitress too. We will definitely be back 🥰 excuse the photo I had already taken a bite out of it

5 star luxury dining in a brand new stellar restaurant. Yet with prices that are affordable for anyone.
This place is special and does a rare kind of authentic Japanese chicken ramen you won't even find easily in Japan itself.
