M.Was on a wee single Sunday drive looking for somewhere to get a bite. Found The Galley ordered an iced chocolate and the prawn seafood pasta of the day. I love a good iced chocolate and this one was one of the best ones I've ever had, real ice cream, good chocolate flavor mmm. The pasta was also amazing and huge especially for $22, I got dinner out of it too. Would highly recommend here 👌
A.A really nice surprise in Port Chalmers! I had never been to The Galley, but being very hungry and after being turned away from another cafe due to dietary restrictions, I tried here and boy I was not disappointed! It was a quiet drizzly afternoon and the staff were so so lovely and accommodating and even made me a custom vegan meal that was exactly what I felt like! The cafe/bar has a big vibey courtyard and I'd love to come visit for a beer in the evening! Coffee was good too, an honest good little brunch spot.
B.The staff were so friendly and helpful. Amazing food and great atmosphere made for an enjoyable Sunday lunch! Would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a nice place to dine.
H.They have got a great courtyard at the back. Came here for lunch with my mate. Will definitely come back probably dinner sometime.

G.♿⚠️ Slight narrow entrance with no steps, the door can be a bit on the heavy side. Tables inside with a good Isle to move though. Didn't see any disabled toilets though.
Staff were friendly and full of smiles when we arrived, we walked to the outside garden which looked great in the sun! Ordered the cajun chicken pizza, food was on the expensive side pizza was $28. They did have a nice beer range to choose from with guest ales on tap which was a good touch!
H.Oh wow how can i describe how good this espresso slice was? Unbelievably tasty. Not sweet, dark choc with walnuts and coffee.
L.Sheltered here for lunch on a rainy, grey, Dunedin day. Great food from the specials menu and exceptionally good service!

Very efficient service; even when busy you don't wait long for food. Good pizza but a variety of other choices too. Open as Cafe during the day.

Came for coffee this morning off a cruise ship and had to come back for lunch !
Thoroughly suggest the coconut milk mocha and the 4 cheese pizza.
Staff is friendly and accommodating and the courtyard is quaint and a perfect place for an arvo.
Will definitely be back.
K.We called in to grab 4 takeaway coffees this morning on our way through.
Unfortunately the person who served us struggled to get our orders right and didn't seem that bothered about it, inferring that we were confused rather than the other way around.
The coffees and mocha tasted good but we ended up paying for and receiving 5 drinks instead of 4 and not everyone was sure what they ended up with eg my husband ordered a flat white with sugar but ended up with no sugar and trim milk.
We decided not to make a fuss because were pretty sure we weren't going to have much joy at that time.
Disappointing.

D.Both my Wife and her 92 year old mother are Coeliacs so finding a beautiful cafe with a large range of Gluten Free options was an awesome surprise. They both ordered soup and pizzas so there was plenty to take home. Great Service, Great Coffee, Awesome Food and a lovely setting made for a very enjoyable lunch. We are going back this Friday !!!

Ç.You have not lived in Dunedin if you haven't spent a couple of hours with your mates climbing the fun multi-pitch climb at the Port Chalmers Quarry followed by a delicious meal at The Galley Cafe & Bar. The fantastic outdoor seating is not to be missed, the service is simply stupendous. Overall a lovely place to relax.
K.Cosy and warm atmosphere. We've spend relaxing one hour drinking delicious dry cider and having great pizza and mushroom and chicken pasta. Very nice staff. I would highly recommend this place.

C.A really nice rustic atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and very accommodating. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Menu has a reasonable variety, but the quality is superb.
