Service is absolutely amazing, the staff are friendly and attentive. The food is phenomenal, perfect portions and five star quality. I eat here quite alot and will continue to come back not just because of what I've stated above but also for their amazing specials which are always a knock out of the park. 10/10 Amazing!

Went here on recommendation from a local. I wish I lived closer as I would definitely make this my regular! The staff were so attentive and friendly. The cocktails were amazing, as were the starters. I had the beef cheek which was the most amazing piece of meat that I have had from a restaurant in a very long time, very tender and bursting woth flavor. They also had the best aioli I've had. Love love love!

I absolutely loved it 🥰 they made my partners night special and made sure he didn't see the bill. They understood why we were late as the taxi didn't arrive and we had to walk. They still kept our table reserved. The staff were so lovely and they had no judgement about my disability they showed me where the right toilet was and made sure the table was comfortable for our meal. I pre-ordered my partners steak but we ended up getting all the specials and they were so fresh. The fish and calamari were to die for and I have never tried calamari before. 10/10 clean, friendly service, disability friendly and delicious food.

Awesome food, very large meals and excellent service. The waiting staff were pleasant, polite & helpful. As a party of eight, all enjoyed their meals. We came here for valentines day and the atmosphere at furnace was warm and the staff were very welcoming! Furnace staff were also very helpful with our request for a table to seat my brother who is a big guy xx we also appreciate that they were able to hold our table as we were running very late but made sure to call and let them know. All our food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour!! Presentation was beautiful, we had already started eating and then i decided to take a pic. My beef cheek meal had mash potato that was almost silky smooth and the beef cheek just fell apart! The chicken meal came with perfect roast potatoes, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. If your a fan of seafood, you must try the chowder, it is very flavorful. We left here full and happy knowing we chose the perfect place to eat for a special occasion! Will definitely reccomend this place to anyone and will be back again!!

Came here for dinner last night, I had the triple pork and friend had the slow cooked steak. It was nice and fairly tasty, but little concerned the meals literally came out in 5 minutes, so my pork wouldn’t have been cooked there and then. Dessert was nice, the staff were friendly and attentive. Very overpriced if you compare to better restaurants in Auckland, think that’s due to the monopoly between the two hospo companies that own a large percentage of the restaurants / bars in Hamilton.

Great service and a brilliant meal. They have a fine selection of wines with a very nice Marlborough Pinot Gris. The calamari was soft and melted in the mouth. While the souse vide scotch fillet was delightfull. The plum creme brulle desert was a flavour burst. The restaurant also had great atmosphere and very comfortable seating. If you have a wheelchair ask for side door access when you book.

Absolutely beautiful food. I visited the Furnace a month ago and it was a really pleasant experience. I revisited tonight to share in a birthday celebration with my close friends and the experience was even better because something went wrong. My steak was, to me, cooked to well done. It was tough and not pink not pleasant for me to eat. When I asked I stated the above. They immediately took it back to replace it. Without question. That was great service, the best service. They replaced it with a beautifully cooked steak to how I preferred it. Now I wasn't being a "Karen" but I was buying their signature steak and it was not cheap. So there is a certain expectation. I was impressed by their concern that it was not to my liking and replaced without question PLUS a discount when I went to pay. Now that is exceptional service. Highly recommend. Quality restaurant. Well done Furnace.

We went as a group for lunch on a sunday. Myself with my adult sons and their partners and 2 babys. 3months and 1 year. Although I would not recommend as "baby friendly " the staff were welcoming and supportive. Our assigned staff Amelia was fabulous. The food was fantastic. I would recommend making a booking though we were welcomed without one and walk ins are not a problem. All staff were helpful. We tried a range of dishes. The mac n cheese was to die for and a true guilty pleasure. There was Heineken on tap as well as a good range of other beers and the atmosphere is comfortable and had both indoor and outdoor seating. My wife and I had dinner at Furnace last night and the service was excellent; friendly, efficient and attentive without being intrusive. I had the 500gm Signature Rib Eye Steak with red wine jus, duck fat chips and roasted mushrooms. My wife had the Scotch Fillet with green peppercorn sauce, with baked potato and steamed vegetables. Everything was delicious. In particular, the steaks were perfect and honestly I think the best we've ever had, and we've experienced some of the finest restaurants in London, Los Angeles and Sydney over the years. Highly recommended, at least 5 stars!

I can't quite put my finger on it. Food, service and surroundings are quality. It just doesn't feel as emotionally warm and intimate as other, less upmarket, eateries. Somehow an unordered bottle of wine found its way into our bill, but that was rectified when we pointed it out. Still, I keep coming back here.

I went with a group of 12. The wait staff were great- attentive & helpful but not making a pest of themselves. Our dinners all came out within minutes of one another & looked delicious. I had the the Treacle brushed Beef Cheek. Wow! It was so tender, tasty & moist. It melted in my mouth, & made the bite that I had of my husband's steak positively tough by comparison (it wasn't). YUM! And the mashed potatoes... I could've just had a plate of that & been happy! I tried my husband's steak - that was delicious too. I'd definitely recommend Furnace for a special occasion dinner.

Service was friendly but very slow. Food took around 50minutes. It was busy but a good restaurant would follow service time guidelines. Little disappointed in the simplicity and presentation of the meals but it’s a good steakhouse for a casual eat. Smokers stand outside but the restaurant has the large windows and doors open so all the cigarette smell blows in. Would probably go elsewhere next time where it’s not so pub like.

Very friendly greeting on arrival and all staff very friendly and attentive. We had a problem understanding our South American waiter explaining the menu. Very strong accent and spoke too quickly for us to understand. That was our only problem. Beautiful meal, great choice and lovely ambience. Certainly recommend. Enjoyed by all 6 in our party. Been to Furnace many times when I lived in Hamilton. But I went there recently, and we were greeted with exceptional service. We needed to rush off somewhere quickly, so we needed the food promptly cooked and delivered to our table. The food took a couple of minutes extra than they said, but they advised us and also gave us two chip sides on the house to compensate. The quality of the pizzas was very impressive. The are one of the best places to get Pizza that i know of. The flavour is incredible. They are packed with toppings, and they are very, very decently priced. The handcut chips are also very tasty, much better than standard chips at most restaraunts. Again, the staff and service was great too. Very happy with Furnace, am definitely going there again soon.

We had dinner here last week. The customer service was good. We tried a couple of entree dishes, I had the chicken breast, my partner had the steak for mains. The food was not as great as the service. While the steak was lovely there was not a lot of flavour/seasoning in either meal and there was no salt at our table.. we thought the waiter was going to get some but he didn't comeback. Can't say we will try it again.. would like tastier food for the price paid.

The recent renovation looks good (although I'm not 100% sure about the colour scheme) - it definitely benefits from being a dedicated restaurant rather than a part-time nightclub. Probably one of the best lamb dishes we've ever had. Pasta carbonara was very good too. Added chicken, that was a mistake. Very dry.

Lovely food went there for my birthday 9 January 2014 3.55pm. Great service! We were late for the lunch menu but they allowed us to order. However, as non smokers we would appreciate if those smoking would not be allowed so close to the dining room - there was a person who continually smoked over the time we were there and that affected our dining experience.

My beef cheek was delicious while my partner had some chicken tasting a bit dry. In the end we thought we had better meals for less money (their prices are rather high). The interior is quite nice and the staff is quick and friendly. There is also enough space between the tables so it does not feel cramped, even as more and more people arrived. Overall, I don't think we will eat there again in the near future.
