V.Good customer service. Excellent information about the menu and what was available. The seafood chowder was delicious and kids meals were well priced.
B.Mex burger was tasty, certainly enough food on the plate. Service was very good. A note on the venue: They should do everyone's arse a favour and get rid of the tables with the old tractor seats on a swing arm, there isnt many of them but if that's the only seating left I would recommend going somewhere else.
R.Had the vegetarian burger with no egg. I was not expecting it to be this big and tasty (that's what she said)!! The Salad had the right amount of dressing and the vege patty was very nicely cooked. 4 stars because the fries had no seasoning.
S.My partner and I always order the mussels because they are amazing. Good portions of food. Pretty decent wine selection. They never have the blue cod which is always a shame. But this remains a traditional dinner place whenever we're in town.
K.Staff are always very on point. Was let down by the kitchen tonight tho. My steak was sent back once as it was still running around the paddock, wasnt the greatest. Love the vibe

A bit disappointing as our son has wanted to come for dinner since reading the southern man cook book and it didn't live up to our expectations.

A.The vegan buffet was divine. Really great.
However I got very chilled later on and so cold I had to leave.(The doors were open but summer temp had dropped away) The female hospitality staff were excellent.
One of the men was good too.
P.Plain boring, no atmosphere. I took my Mother for mothers day. I booked and was a seated right behind the waitresses station with an extremely loud phone.. there was no other diners in the venue at the time.. huge place, could be good.

M.Waitress looked away while speaking with seating instructions. I'm deaf so didn't hear. Told her, she apologised then did it again. Young inexperienced not her fault but untrained by Speights ale house obviously.
Twice cooked pork belly was so tough I sent it back. Report back from kitchen was that is how they cook it.
I lost it, said I was 64 and both cooked and eaten dozens of them and it is not how they are.....no apology nor offer to select something else.
Mean time wife had eaten a lovely fish & salad meal. I pinched some fish it was great.
I had to ask for menu again.....ahhh....and ordered one lamb shank. Bloody great and could only eat half so doggy bagged rest for breakfast.
No offer of apology from matre de or compensation. I had a beer & 2 wines so thought at least the beer might have been taken off as apology.....
There's a lot of other eating places in Hamilton to try before we'll be back....that's a big price to pay.
S.There was a quiz night in progress when we went there. We were still made welcome. Very friendly staff and great service. We ordered burgers. Nice but not fabulous. Good pub fare.

M.Good beer and food but no Guinness so I was a bit peeved. It was quiz night so had some fun . Restrooms clean as they should be. Staff attentive. Kept coming round to see if we were good. We smiled quietly to ourselves.

R.Lovely experience and good service. Ordered the fish n chips along with the BBQ pork ribs. The fresh bread was the Star. So well made. The ribs were cooked beautifully, meat falling off the bone. I will come back for sure.

G.Firstly they got our booking wrong. We were meant to be seated at 6 but didn't get seated until half an hour later. They put our tables in the runway thru to the toilets . which by the way you could smell. The pork was dry. The menu was an a4 size paper not laminated. Other then that it was okay.

S.Went for dinner - 4 adults and 2 kids. Kids well catered for with a bag of stuff for them to play with. The women were pleased to be given a complimentary glass of bubbles each - it was Mothers Day. Good menu with plenty of choice. Meals on large size so be careful when ordering entrees. Meals very enjoyable. The new Speights Summit Ultra available on tap. It's a very nice full strength beer with no sugars or carbohydrates.

J.Went past 8pm and unfortunately was told the kitchen is closed. They have a very limited menu after 8pm. We ordered fish and chips. Portions are huge and price reasonable but it didnt taste so good. Place looks good, I hope the other food is better.

A.Went for a quite meal and drink. Drink was served quickly but the meal took a good 40 min on a very quite day. Wondering if they had to run across to pack n save first or something. Salad was not the freshest to.

T.Typical of the Speight's Ale House franchise, big spaces, some outdoor seating, homely interior with normal food fare on offer. We went after the All Blacks vs. Tonga game so the menu was a special event menu - nothing interesting to eat so we simply grabbed a few jugs of beer and left after the one drink as it was crowded and getting service at the bar was slow (as you would expect after any game). Would be curious to see what it's like on a normal day of trading.
M.Great place for lunch or dinner or casual after work with your mates. Great size meals good choices to be had. Recommend trying them. Easy going atmosphere. Pleasant team.
M.Booked here for lunch. Overall experience was great. WHANAU from Auckland, Tokoroa Tuakau feed back food was lovely, Tamariki orders taken first.Our Tamariki enjoyed the packs Service 10/10. We will return and recommend the venue. Nga mihi. Would of bin 5 Star but our tables were right in the pathway of the kitchen area. Lots staff walking back and forward with kai for other patrons. Heio ano Kia ora.

Q.Went for lunch. Food was mainstream pub food but top end quality. Really large, well cooked and all young servers were bubbly and efficient. Lunch menu not too pricey.

J.As an American living in NZ, this is a welcome reminder of the type of restaurants we use to eat at in the US. Above average food with huge portion sizes. Casual and comfortable. Recommended the burger or the brisket salad.

I.Great atmosphere pity they advertised Rewena bread but it wasn't. It was just fried bread. Could be considered false advertising. Kids meal didn't come out first and they made it a big burger instead of a kids size meal.
O.I ordered the venison because I didn't think I was very hungry and venison dishes are always a bit smaller... Well it was so damn good that I found my appetite for more... My mistake definitely not theirs - damn good!
S.The Speights Ale has friendly staff,. The food was OK (a bit overpriced for what I got). Other options are good value for money. Good free parking right outside when not busy. Was a bit cold inside when I went.
