We had a bit of a circumstance where we weren't able to pick up our order in time before closing, however the level of professionalism and consideration demonstrated by the staff at Indian at The Crescent to get this resolved was unlike anything I have ever experienced from any restaurant in my life. A.Our first dine-in at an Indian restaurant in New Zealand. After long time we feel like our taste buds made us realize that we are from India. Awesome food, great hospitality, superb ambiance - overall a perfect place for food lovers. Surprisingly the Butter Naan here is so far the best that we ever had. I liked options in curries - mild, moderate and hot 🔥 options to choose from. Tandoori chicken was great. They got a chef with an exceptional balance of deliciousness and presentation skills. And finally, very affordable price for generous portions. We definitely recommend food lovers to pay a visit to this place.
H.I mean it’s okay. I got delivery, onion bajee a bit dry . Garlic naan tasted okay burnt and no flavor I got the chickpea curry . Tasted like raw garlic and onions were also raw very watery I know it’s a tomato base but still no flavor apart from raw. First time I tried this place , but I’ll stick with Bombay.
n.We were there for dinner and booked our table from first table.. that was our first time there but trust me this place is highly recommended. Love their hospitality specially one Chinese guy.. and food is too good. Thankyou for being soo awesome. :)
C.Best curry in invercargill, here's what we ordered, $50, enough to feed two people for two nights easily. Even the vegetables looked and tasted like they were prepped and cooked with care. All curries gluten free. Reasonable delivery time considering it's likely one of the busiest nights of the silly season. Everything tasted divine. Not over salted (like some places seem to have started to do).
Cashew Nut Stir Paneer - wow tons of vegetables, a great vegetarian option.
Lamb Saagwala - great taste, heaps of meat and sauce. Of course tons of rice with the glu
Poppadoms with Chutney & Sauce - yay love the plentiful mini pots of sauce and chutney Onion Bhaji's - cooked just right. Perfect crunch on the outside and tasty veg combo on the inside

L.This is my favourite indian restaurant in invercargill. The curry is always good and actually has spice unlike other restaurants. I always get takeaway to deliver, but tonight it was 30 mins late. I just wish I would've gotten a call from the restaurant to let me know the food would be delivered at a much later time.

J.Two nights running dinner from these guys. Tandoori chicken both nights for the starter then followed by a lamb biryani for the first night with and a lamb bhuna on the second night. Had the meals delivered, a one hour wait on the first night, it was a Monday and incredibly busy I’m told. Tuesday night was only 20 minutes. Back in few weeks when in town. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

H.I was disappointed when another Indian restaurant left the city and we haven't had it in months because of this. Thought we would try these guys and so pleased we did. They are absolutely fantastic! The meals were amazing and the service was exceptional. The mild butter chicken was great for hubby and the medium had great kick for me. Loved it! We will be back.

Indian at the Crescents curry was bloody amazing and what an Indian curry should be. Perfect amount of spice and so much flavor!

E.I haven’t been home (India) in 4 years, dinning here today just reminded me of food back home. I’ve eaten at many Indian Restaurants, by far this has been the most authentic in taste. No added colour, no artificial flavours or sweetness. Their new Indo-Chinese is the BEST & a must try. A burst of different flavours. My taste buds were dancing.

J.The Chef is clearly passionate about delivering authentic Indian food to customers. My compliments! I had the Prawn Malabari. Delicious! Food is a few degrees hotter than at most Indian restaurants, so if it is your first time order a lower level of spiciness than you normally would. The lanterns make for a nice ambiance and wait staff are friendly.
R.Went here for a celebratory lunch with my family. We all ordered the lunch special which is such bang for your buck. Along with the lunch specials we ordered mango lassi's each (best drink in the world) and onion bhajis to share. We were definitely full and had leftovers to take home. My youngest sister (8) ordered Butter chicken which was a nice creamy dish that wasn't too spicy for her so its perfect for kids. The friendly staff knew we were celebrating and gave us a complimentary chocolate naan to finish off which was amazing. Very tidy inside and full of smiles.

A.A very lovely place to have Indian cuisine. My butter chicken was amazing, best I have ever had. Our first time dining in here and the service was spot on. Have had takeaways from here on different occasions and never once been let down. Highly recommended.
A.Absolutely stunning food. The last time i ever had some where near to authentic indian food was back in 2007-2008. Since then never found any restaurant which was authentic. Their curries were different and no added sugar or colour to their food. Their new experiment with Indo-Chinese cuisine is just kicking off in style. Reminds me of my time in Mumbai where street style hawker food was a must try. Only wished if this restaurant was in Queenstown. But saying this, we wouldn’t mind planning a day in Invercargill & Bluff as an excuse to relish their food time & again. Wish them all the very best. A must try for one & all

Amazing entree, (mixed platter for two) had generous portions and wonderful flavors and variety. The onion bhaji and samosas were divine.
We ordered naan with potato, vegetables, chicken tikka and tandoori chicken - everything was perfect. Loved the vegetables, the flavour was amazing.
I'll be recommending Indian At the Crescent to my friends and family.

It also has unique assets such as the temple room, vault room, and the light wall. An overall great place to dine in, or to order a take away meal.

Meals were beautiful, flavours gorgeous, FULL bowl of rice delivered when we were on last spoon fulls of dishes, and a mild vs medium spiciness option available for those less tolerant of hot meals.
Wonderful inside interior and gently playing Indian music makes quite a perfect romantic or general night out offering.

M.This is my go-to Indian restaurant. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the curries are amazing. There is a wide range of naan available and a wide range of curries and starters available.
I recommend that you try everything on the menu (not all at once of course!). I highly recommend the channa masala because it is the best channa masala I have ever had in Invercargill.

And, due to allium intolerance chef (customize) made for me an awesome curry out of special request. Strongly recommended. Great ambience and beautiful place with the level of perfection. R.I came here with my boyfriend and his family, and it was lovely meal and service. The food was amazing and I really enjoyed Palak Paneer and the garlic naan. The service was great. A few days later we ordered their delivery service (while they advertise that you can do online ordering we had trouble with the website as this is definitely a new feature that hasn't been finalised, so I would recommend just placing an order over the phone), the service was faster than expected (it came in 30 minutes as opposed the the 45 minute wait we were expecting), the food was just as good as meals we had at the restaurant days prior. They also give you more than enough to eat, as I ended up having leftovers for breakfast the next day. A bit of a steep price point if you're a student like myself, but I would definitely recommend the place for a nice meal with family or friends.

T.We come here twice a week for lunch, for the lunch special. Honestly one of the best places for indian food in Invercargill (and we have tried them all). My parents visited me from Auckland and they were so impressed by the food here as well. Also great service and consistent.

L.I've gone twice for the lunch special: your choice of curry (no restrictions on ingredients), plus rice and naan for $13 (2/2018). Add a side of raita for $3.50, and it's a lovely lunch. Deliciously seasoned, a deep taste and very natural ingredients, I would venture to say.
It is true that food takes a while to arrive. But it is well worth the wait. It has a good atmosphere to have a chat while you wait--quiet, clean, and bright, even elegant. Very kind and professional service. Highly recommend for lunch, just a few steps down from the more commercial area of town.
