Greeted as we entered to show vaccination passport. Our order was made quickly. An incident happened that required immediate first aid, and a couple of McDonald's employees acted swiftly to address it. Outstanding!

Classic Maccas. My daughter loves the play area. Food is always served very quickly and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. However I did notice on my last visit that they were not consistently checking covid vaccine passes, and one staff manager was not wearing a mask and was being very rude to her coworkers.

Haven't had any real issues here. Orders are always correct, which I appreciate. Some of the kids at the drive-thru could be a little friendlier. Otherwise, all good!

I experienced unforgettable moments visiting McDonald's in Lower Hutt. Cyclone Dovi was happening all around Wellington Region. I personally recommend,the drive through check-out.

Would be five star if they didn't get my order wrong all the time. But at least the ice cream machine works

Prompt, efficient drive through service, our food was freshly made and hot!! 🙂 The young lady who served our kai was bright and cheerful.

I've been to all 167 Maccas scattered over New Zealand... And one thing I noticed about this Maccas different from the others, is how fresh the food was. The chips were the most exquisite and fresh chips I have ever tasted, and don't even get me started on the cheese burger... Very McDonalds I have been to, they have never, ever had a hot cheese burger... But this Maccas had the warmest cheese burger ever and it was mouth-watering. If you want more info on how good Maccas is then check out my Profile, its just this Maccas had something special. So if you're looking for a HOT burger and chips... Not cold, hot, then come to McDonald's Lower Hutt.

Great lobby staff. Friendly and very helpful. It's a super busy restaurant and they do an excellent job

Considering we went thru at 9.30pm, the service was quick and the food was hot and fresh. Noiice 1!

Haven't dined in for ages - was surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal.

Place needs a sort out coffee was poor had to them remake Putting to much mayonnaise these days It used to be good been there a lot of times in the past But found this trip the place is going backwards Staff just to young Needs better leadership. Doug

We have been going here for many years for coffee and have been served many a lovely mocha. We were sad to recently see Edgar and Lewis depart as they made really nice coffee but Lear, Bree and Ethan remain, still giving us the very high quality coffee we are accustom to in this venue.😅

Service friendly and helpful at Lower Hutt branch, can never understand why toilet facilities are below par as most macdonalds restaurants are unfortunately which means numbers=profit before comfort and hygiene 😖

Drive through was closed for maintenance so had to go in. No problem, suppose to use a machine to do your order, not for me so face to face behind the safety screens was great. Staff were lovely and even though they were really busy, service was quick!

Great McDonald's, lots of seating, drive thru more busier than inside when I visited. A plus was that they bought your meal to your table. Quick and fast service

Variable service. Some days are great but my most recent experience we went through the drive through and were parked for 15 to 20 minutes while another 10+ cars were served immediately. My order was relatively small and pretty standard items.

Its average for a McDonald's... not exactly a wow factor and food was almost cold. Chips were pretty much cardboard. (Ordered through drive thru)

I recently had a problem with my app, meaning that it was not operating correctly. Stella the manager went above and beyond the call of duty to help me have the issue resolved. I also come here regularly as my wife and I really enjoy the Soy milk lattes. And the whole the quality of the food is better than in previous years.

Usually impressed, the food is very prompt and I prefer to go through the drive through. Food is warm and put together nicely. However the other day I wanted something off the breakfast menu and it was 3 minutes past 10:30am and they wouldn't :/

Large resturant with a good open indoor play area and separate room for children's parties. McCafe is efficient and provides quality coffee. Our food came out a little cold when we were there, but they were busy.

One of the kind young ladies at the drive through helped me when I did not know what the big mack was and when i described it she knew what i was talking about and it was a taste sensation.This occured around 6 Tuesday and it was a lovely indian girl i believeThank you for the kindness and I WILL be happy to come back just to be served by her.

Just like other McDonald but I have had several orders over the last couple of years where they have left somthing out.

Good family atmosphere had an awesome time with my kids

This is better than your average McDonalds. In addition to the normal food, service and facilities, McDonald's Lower Hutt also has a couple of seated outdoor areas, which are very relaxed and refreshing, especially on a warm sunny day. The play area is also one of the larger ones I have seen. The McDonald's is also surrounded by beautiful pohutakawa trees. It is located conveniently, with easy access to both the plentiful parking and the drive through. I would chose this location over the other McDonald's on the region.

Generally good. Had a couple of incidentsr ecently where they forgot part of the order. Not great when picking up drive through and you don't find out till you're at home 😪

Enjoy going in to this mcdonalds to eat. Very clean inside and good service. Only down fall is when you are walking to the doors from the car park side you get a really bad smell from the bins.

Usually kept very clean and not too busy at the early time of 5pm that I am usually there. Playground is pretty good though a little open to the elements at the side.

Great place with playground and plenty of tables

My go to place for me and my little family. I love the original playground here, beats petones new playground. My son won't play on their new one. I always seem to get fresh hot burgers/cafe food & beverages here. Love how there is an elder lady that checks on you and makes sure you're good to go when you're dealing with the self kiosk. 5 stars!

Coffee not up to scratch for the $4.90 charged. Not much taste therefore not much of an experience. I know you can do better.

Mostly clean. Mostly well cooked and presented food. My kids love the playground here better than any other McDonald's. It's also nice to be able to sit behind a piece of glass and watch them play. There is no eating allowed in the playground area, but people are regularly confused as there are tables and seats in there and parents want to be close to their kids. Either remove the tables or loosen up on the rules.

Have never seen so many Mac Donald like in Wellington 😆😆😆😆😆

Staff didn't look very happy

Great little McDonald's in Lower Hutt, when it comes to drive thru. It's is super quick, with great friendly service. Inside the same cannot be said. The inside service is a bit sloppy compared to drive thru. Almost like another McDonald's on the inside. Rather do drive thru, to avoid inside service and poor quality.

I was just visiting as my wife and great niece were there in the play ground. It wS very busy though.

Big box food place. El Maco was average, looking much bigger in photos and no jalapenos in 2 of the 4 we ordered. Restaurant clean and tidy, and staff cheerful and helpful.

McDonald is my favourite restaurant at lunch time but there's no McDonald in Queensgate at all.

The workers are usually good with making the burgers, but today was something else. Instead of tasting the tomato sauce in my cheeseburger, the salt in the patty was overpowering and bitter, I thought that was it but when I took a bite out of my big mac, it was even saltier and I just stopped eating and threw it away because of how horrible it tasted. At least the drink wasn't salty :)

I'm actually usually pretty happy with McD's. And this particular one is a good one. Plenty of self service terminals, decent coffee and a large area for children to play. The foods is always the same at McDonald's so no news is good news for a specific restaurant I guess. Of course this isn't every-day food folks, but totally fine for an occasional visit :)

Only had coffee but it was good. Restaurant was clean and tidy, had to use the restroom which was spotless. Visiting from out of town and was impressed by the place and the staff. Wish hometown McDonalds were the same. Sue

Had a serious Angus burger which was anything but serious. Only a 1/4 of the size in the picture. I wanted it without the bun but that was too difficult for the two girls behind the counter. Another in our group wanted a sausage mcmuffin which they could not supply . Not impressed with the food of the service except for one lady who was bringing out the meals. She was a real gem and so friendly. I would give her 5 stars but the rest of the experience let that down.

Always a lot of employees on site food in 5mis or less

Good play area. No halal meals served. Muslims eat at ur own discretion. Friendly staff, don't pressure u to buy so u use the play area.

All employees ive ever met there lovely customer manner. Fast food service, very efficient.

Service here is very good. I had my hot drink from the McCafe brought to me, and was checked in on to see if I needed anything else while I was there. The free wifi was very useful to get some work done. Standard McDonalds food but the service deserves at least 3 or 4 stars.

This has personal table service both with the McCafe and the regular McDonalds service. The wait time can vary but are one of the stores that are very good and if something is not going well they will let you know instead of leaving you wondering what is going on. The playground is nice and clean and also partly outside so is a great difference to all the other McDonalds I've visited in the region.

Service was amazing, food got delivered to our table and a very nice worker was going around making sure everyone was happy, food was as you would expect but the service made it worth my while.

Friendly and helpful staff. Some were attractive as well with big smiles that welcomed me.

Great premise: bright, cheery, clean and modern facilities, free WiFi, covered children's play area, central location in LH's CBD. This branch can hold its own even when compared to overseas Macs (even though I am not a fast-food fan). Service is very good, from courteous, well-trained and gracious staff. It's always pleasant here. Food-wise it is the usual Mac's fast-food fare. If you're looking for alternatives they have wraps, etc. in keeping with the times. And Mac Cafe does offer some great drinks, muffin + coffee deals and loyalty incentives.

I love this one, they have a playground. Its good when you have a kids, their chips is good too. Blueberry muffin is not bad. Its a busy Maccas, but it has plenty of seat. Friendly staff.

Always busy for a reason you can still have personal service but recommend ordering via Mac machine it's faster

It's McDonald's - Depending on which shift is on, will determine the level of customer care you will receive. Normally clean amenities but if you use the drive through ALWAYS check your order before you leave the window.

They weren't as friendly, no smiles or even a hello when I went to.oick my food up in the drive through...

I ordered a very large order for our office of over 20 people with Uber Eats, but Uber managed to cancel the order. L/Hutt McDonalds took the order over the phone, had it ready when I got there to collect and even helped me with the boxes to my car. Perfect service and not a thing wrong with the order!

Wow this McDonald's was very well presented, designed more like a cafe inside with plenty of seating and a McCafe that felt considered when the restaurant was designed rather than being the after thought tacked on. And of course most importantly the food was prompt and professional from friendly staff

Service ok food could be alot better

The 2 stars represents the coffe and the 3rd for the drive through. I highly rate their coffee in comparison to most coffee bars i've been to. My go to place for coffee. Couple of experiences i had with my breakfast late last year kinda affected their rating but the coffee was great as usual.

Service was nice, though I asked for no meat and x2 cheese - and they gave me x2 meat and cheese! They fixed it for me, though. Chips were fresh, same with the hash browns. Will be back 😊

While waiting for the order had a man come in and complain about his order. Something got missed. Didn't think much of it, until I got my order back to the car. Two out of three happy meals were missing toys. Had to go back to get it sorted. Disappointing.

Place is usually ok. This branch is always very clean which is nice. It would pay to check your order upon receiving it however as many times there have been food items missing. Plenty of car parking, a children's playground and central Hutt location. Missing an EV charging station which is why I usually drive on to the queensgate branch.

Terribly confusing carpark layout, and difficult to find the entrance. Other than that it's the same efficient & friendly service you expect from a McD's.

Well laid out restaurant. Kids playground is small but good for younger kids.

Your staff needs to learn to take out ingredients (ex. Pickles) as some of 5he customers are allergic and your opposing a health risk by ignoring the request, great service great food but need more attentative staff

Has all the Maccas things, but the restaurant itself has a nice lay out and makes you feel.like its not just another Mac Donalds place!

Pretty good McDonald's, but now $2 for Goldcard tea or coffee. BK next I think.

Besides the long wait because of there food safety audit I got fresh everything so I dont mind and it helped that there server was super nice and accommodating was also clear on all instructions during the down audit time witch helped me to control my crowd with me. So in all 4 stars not bad.

Alright Food quality

Mainly coming for kids to blow off steam in the playground. Cafe staff are friendly, playground is nice and big, outdoor but covered. Service is as consistent as any other McDonalds.

Nice and clean, the staff are kind, good place to eat in or out.

Average service. Food good, if somewhat expensive for what you pay for. I refuse to use the booths, and prefer to pay at the counter. I was ignored for about 2 minutes. Otherwise, OK.

Traffic management is pretty useless in the drive through, always backs up towards the street. Service isn't usually that good, and we've had them get our order wrong a couple times.

Cafe staff need to listen to customers carefully especially when requesting muffins to be heated. Mine was cold and my coffee way too hot and bitter

Came twice in 2 days. Service on day 1 couldve been a little faster, but was friendly and professional. One of the cleanest maccas ive ever entered, from rutherford to newcastle in Australia and from Wellington to Hawera, this maccas kills them all, kudos to the lady i saw both nights cleaning (Teressa) attention to the small details is key, 25+ years in hospitality across the globe, i know cleaning standards well, keep it up 🙂👍

Just had lunch here with my kids and i must say it was the best customer service from the staff. From helping me choose a better cheaper option for us, 2 making sure we were ok, 2 accicently dropping our food & replacing it. 😊 Thank you 2 the 2 ladies that helped us mich appreciated 😊👍

Enjoyed the new experience of the online orders and relaxed n ate New Kiwi Angus with my friends and Clients from work . Had a lovely day and the staff were really kind & helpful.

The usual for McDonald's nothing special here. Plenty of room to eat indoors that said there is some seating outdoors and some near play ground. Rooms can be closed off for group meetings.

This McDonald's has had consistent service over the years. One thing I'd advise is eating in all night like Petone. So you can sit down for late night meals.

It's MacDonald, you know what you're going to get here. Queues aren't too long, there is a McCafe and a pretty good kids play area. The play area is open to the outside though, so can get pretty cold in winter. Staff are friendly.

It's OK. They get your order wrong about 50% of the time, and if your in the drive through and they get your order wrong they make you drive through again to change it!?

It's a McDonald's, with all the usual things you expect from a McDonald's store. Clean, fast, efficient service, although this store does have very, very good staff!

Somewhat sterile now that there are new owners. No TV or newspapers etc. Management seems more interested in making money than fostering a sense of community and friendliness as did the former owners.

It's clean and relatively fast for a Maccas. Decent indoor playground and of course the kids like it!

Lovely and helpful service. The staff were all happy and made you feel like you were at a family restaurant not just a takeaway restaurant.

It's a MacDonslds, during school holidays, so it was packed with mums, dads, grandmas, grandads and kids..... Lots of kids!! But both the products and the service were the usual high standard that "Maccas" seems to be able to maintain!!

Usually pretty crowded and at times orders take longer when it's busy. 2 out of 3 last times they didn't have the mixed frozen drinks as well.

Nice lighting and decoration of the shop. Self service order screens allow more customers to order without a long queue during busy hours.

Seems whenever I go in there are always deliveries happening (closing the drive through lanes). It's a hassle going in for breakfast meal on the way to work but a small downside to the overall experience

Amazing customer service by so far, hugeeee large coffee like when I’m talking huge it’s big :) which I loveeee cuz I’m a coffee person, she did a great job on it since I’m a barista myself, keep on doing a good job guys ❤️❤️❤️

Unfortunately they ain’t serving no loose tea in this McCaffe as they used to in 2015, which is upsetting. Otherwise - standard McDonalds.

Standard maccas. Got what I wanted and expected. Staff were nice, friendly and helpful and the shop was clean and tidy.

Service was OK but the entrance to the car park isn't ideal for large vehicles and it can be quite tricky for those who aren't used to it.

Ordered a coffee gave them my keep cup called my order. My keep cup was on the counter my coffee in a takeaway cup

Do yourself a favour, go over to the Cafe, grab a coffee, and then attempt to find a better one somewhere in the Hutt, you'll find no better than here! It's honestly so odd...
