BEST.INDIAN.FOOD. We were traveling through Matamata on our way to Hot water beach & stopped for some lunch as the kiddos were hungry:) We ordered the butter chicken & the naan. It was delicious & our kids said it was the best butter chicken they have had...this means a lot as we have been traveling around the world for the last 14 months & they’ve had the opportunity to taste a lot of Indian food! Very quick & pleasant service. The owner was such a genuinely friendly person & made our family feel very welcome. Thanks for a great lunch time stop. Wish he had more time to try more meals here.

Superb food, very friendly staff. We came in at the closing time they still accommodated us, Malai Kofta highly recommended. Gurdas had a great custom, very welcoming. We will visit again.

We tried Indian flame for the first time last night and will definitely be going back again soon. Stoked they use chicken thigh rather than breast, the heat level was perfect and the butter chicken sauce wasn’t too sweet. Highly recommend the cheesy garlic break too. We also got free delivery. Very happy!

Went there for a lunch snack, great hospitality and awesome food :) my partner is gluten free and we are both vegans. There is heeps to choose from with great taste! You got to go there :)

It’s better than I have in any Indian restaurant in Australia. Good service and price is so reasonable. If I come here again, I would definitely visit this place again. We ordered two butter chicken, one lamb and one chicken balti and served with Naan. It looked like a small portion, we have four adults but we couldn’t finish it all. It’s really amazing, definitely will recommend this place.

Delightful gem! My brother and I visited Matamata on our way to Hobbiton and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, as well as the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and are used to high-quality Indian food; we are both happy to report that the chicken madras and mango chicken were absolutely delicious. Furthermore, our waiter was very welcoming and accomodating!

I did not expect the food to be so amazing when I first walked in. The owner was so humble and accommodating. Coming back to food! It was a party in my mouth.we ordered for methi Malai chicken which was so tender and finger licking(not kidding). We also ordered veg Manchurian. My partner and I fell in love on the first bite! Highly recommend this place and if you ever visit Matamata, this is a must to visit if you want to satisfy your hunger.

We drove trough Matamata and luckily found this small, inviting Restaurant. Good lunch Options with excellent prices. We were positively surprised because it was delicious and enough quantity. We can recommend to anyone and will come back.

Service was so good and he was so accommodating. My girl wanted an ice cream spider drink, which they don't serve. So they made one up using sprite and their mango kulfi. She loved it.

We happened to walk in this nice restaurant on our way to rotorua. It was the best thing that happened to us . The host was kind and friendly. The food was top notch. Highly recommend their murg mumtaz. It was like a little of india we found in new Zealand . Thank you for the experience
