We were just driving through Matamata and drove through the drive thru for a quick feed and it was the Best burgers i have had at a McDonald's in a very long time. Weather it was just good timing with the meat patties being freshly cooked because my patties were lovely and hot but I haven't enjoyed a cheese burger that hot in a couple of years. I give it a four star because they forgot our mayo packets and we sat at the window waiting for someone to come back to the window to help us.

Everytime I've been here, the customer service has been nothing short of amazing. Kind and quick with food delivered in a prompt manner. Overall, I'm happy to buy from here every once in a while.

Restaurant is clean and staff friendly. Sporadic checking of vaccine passes and some people able to just walk in and use toilet without scanning or masks. Not happy with my burger, think for the cost of a Grand Mac it should have more than 2 tiny pickles.

Hands down one of the best McDs ive been too in a long time. Went through drive thru, the intercom guy (sorry didnt get your name) was patient n friendly. Food came out bloody fast which was a pleasant surprise since we were about 5 cars back, and the cherry on the top everything was fresh n hot, burgers and the chips! Thanks Matamata McDs!

Foods always good! but this lady, this one lady very rude, rude to my partner and very rude to her own staff members. I dont know if she had a hard day or she just like that but gees calm down lady

Coffee was pretty decent, considering how busy they were, and the wait wasn't super long. I'm amazed at how many coffees they get out in such a short time!! The muffin I had was also good, but they're the same in every McDonald's, so can't complain. Would recommend stopping here for a break.

Not sure why this mcdonalds has so much mixed reviews.... I think its probably down to who serves you and what time of the day. Me and my partner were served by who looked to have been the Manger on at the time, young slim dude and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and asked us if we needed a cup holder and wished us a good day, and the chips were fresh hot and perfectly salted and all the food was delicious, no complaints here keep it up !

Typical Maccas but that's great as you know what to expect. Open 24/7 but Drive Through Only from 12am to 5am. Most staff will serve truck drivers at the Drive Through window which is great as easy truck parking for large units nearby at night

Just another McDonald's by the busy junction of Matamata. Next to the railway and has limited parking spaces. The seatings are limited as well, so overall not a regular size McDonald. Due to high volume of customers (lord of the ring visitor's center close by. Toilet are not all that tidy anymore. One of the places that adopted the machine ordering system which is quite handy.

The Matamata franchise is "okay". It's a smaller store with drive-thru. I visit my girlfriend here often, and I'm finding the staff forget to include serviettes in the bag with our order. This happens nearly every visit through the drive-thru. They have also forgotten to include butters with the hotcakes, and with my most recent visit on 8th September 2020, one set of the hot cakes we purchased were still slightly frozen, albeit very cold. Apparently, this has occured before with my girlfriend. It would seem that staff do need to ensure the products offered are served as advertised, with the courtesy of adding serviettes with every drive-thru order. It is either due to staff conveniently forgetting or are being told to not include. Who knows. 3/5 stars. Other McDonald's stores surpass this branch.

Stopped here at 3am on our way down to Gisborne with our 15 month old baby boy fast asleep in our car. The staff were fantastic, they went the extra mile to be quiet as possible so that our boy remained asleep.

Always stop off here on the way from Auckland to the East Coast. 11pm at night and the service is friendly (you're not just a number like in the main cities), the food hot and the coffee 👌.

Very clean n tidy place. Unless you are a local it takes about 3min to locate their drive through entrance. Drove around the roundabout once only to find it 100mtrs the opposite way. Staff is a lot less reactive n pleasant than the other ones i stopped at during my trip. For that it only get 3 stars.

Small pace.in comparison to other mcdonalds around the country. Service was great can't complain about anything really. It was only a short visit for us on our way through on holiday. Being right on a major round about makes access a bit difficult but we ended up parking just down the road and walking over.

It was good but not great. The staff sometimes are not the best. This time they were encouraging people to order over the computers in the outlet which was good in a way. This an average McDonald's in pretty much any aspect. One of four ordering kiosks was out of order, another one was not responding when trying to place the order. It was very rainy day so floor was wet but not slippery. It could to with cleaning up. The food was average too. My gourmet grilled chicken fillet was thin and dry. Will look for other place next time.

Matamata McDonald's is a great stop on any road trip for a quick meal break. Staff are friendly and professional. Our order was completed really quickly with a display clearly showing when to expect our order. Food was exactly as ordered with no issues at all. This Mc Donald's is located right next to big roundabout as you enter town heading south. My visit had a large number of people driving through and stopping because of its location. Quite busy, so order a bit slower. Stsff were friendly but really busy, suspect they were understaffed on my visit. Food was McDonalds, so you know what you're getting.

Was a little bit of coordination to find the entrance and drive in.. as this macdonalds is smaller compared to others. They have a McCafe compacted in. It was a early morning visit I took some photos of this McDonald's..I ordered the hotcakes for breakfast. A bit of a wait but an ok experience 😀

Have done the drive-through several times while travelling - best Mac's I've had - friendly staff - have always been busy - when passing through - so have had to wait sometimes but that hasn't effected the food - barista coffee was acceptable & always got the orders right which seems to be an issue with other Mac's I've been to. :)

We come from the UK so this mcdonalds was much nicer than what we're used to. The menu options were a lot better but what made it memorable was the friendly/helpful staff and the nice little charm inside the restaurant (loblved the image of the shire inside) I try to avoid places like mcdonalds, KFC etc.... when traveling but this was a nice experience (as far as mcds goes 😂)
