Great spot. Convent parking. Both inside and outside dining. Brunch menu has a number if options which many places don't. Easy dining. Prompt service, quick meal delivery and great portions. Surroundings looking out to sea a bonus. Next door chocolate derby ice cream a double bonus!!

Excellent friendly efficient service and all our meals were delicious. Varied menu from light meals/snacks to large meals. Very nice dessert menu. It was VERY busy all evening. I took photos after guests had left to respect privacy. Perfect for dinner or drinks before or after movies. Lovely outdoors area right on the Ahuriri foreshore overlooking the bay as well as sheltered conservatory. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant/bar.

Very nice staff, clean and tidy, coffee arrived with meal as requested, had big breakfast but no butter on bread and had to ask for tomato sauce so a bit dry but still nicely cooked

Highly recommended! Impeccable service from the wait staff who seated us and put up the umbrella for our son, to the wonderful Kimi who took our orders and payment. My partner and I had eggs benedicts (vegetarian and bacon respectively), our son had the savory hot cakes and we were all extremely satisfied and found everything well portioned and delicious. Beautiful spot out in their rear courtyard overlooking the harbour, absolutely nothing to fault, we will be returning!

Wow Boardwalk Beach Bar Amazing.. after having an awful experience next door at Hot Chick we ventured next door to The Boardwalk for a drink. First I was forgotten about for over 20 minutes and had to find someone to take my order, then when I went to pay they tried charging me almost double for a bunch of extra items I didn't order (or receive). Would I go back? Yes, not not if I was in a rush.

This would be a five star review if the woman at the front of house wasn’t so brash and rude to us. Just because we didn’t make a booking doesn’t mean we don’t deserve the best service. We were willing to wait for a table and got one quickly so it ended up not being a problem. I don’t want the entire place to suffer for the rudeness of one waitress though so that’s why I rated it so high in spite of her. It goes without saying that one employee can sour the whole place. Needs training in customer service and how to treat people with respect and not treat people as if they’re a bother.

The food was absolutely amazing would highly recommend Just a let down that none of the female staff on that day smiled or interacted with polite conversation and didn’t show great hospo! Went there for lunch on Monday 4th January 2021 it was a last minute decider. My husband and I shared a mixed Tapas platter it consisted of BBQ Pork spare ribs, southern chicken tenders, fish bites and baked camenbert all dishes came with matching sauces. Of course we had a couple of drinks all up it only cost us $90 . The staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back. Keep up the good work you're all brilliant

Hi Folks if you haven't already been to Boardwalk Beach Bar & Grill YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR MISSING. Great staff with great service and the food was awesome. My wife and I shared a tapas plater. We picked 4 dishes, southern fried chicken, fish bites, pork spare ribs and baked camenbert and not only filling BUT tasted awesome. This place was an awesome unexpected surprise. DON'T SECOND GUESS, JUST GO.

Had to remind waitress who made up a number of excuses before sulking off to find the missing meal. She sent someone else back with it 10 min later and we didn't see her again.

With no drapes or soft furnishings I found it very echoey and noisy, difficult to hear our conversation. The food was good with a huge selection and the staff were friendly, especially Clara and apart from the man who kept barging in between myself and the person next to me to take plates, fill glasses without an ‘excuse me’. One of the rare venues that has a view of the harbour.

Unfortunately the day we were there was quite busy and the table next to us complained that their food was cold when it was served. Hopefully this was a one off. An appealing place to dine overlooking the sea but our greeting to breakfast was very brisk. The service was good but oh they must learn to heat their plates. Cooked bacon and eggs on a cold plate is an absolute NO-NO! Spoilt what should have been a treat.

Great setting right on the beach front. Plenty of tables inside and a big area outside for those who don't mind the change of weather. Thankfully they do offer blankets for those who feel the cold! Our first time dining here. The staff were extremely friendly. Felt very welcome as soon as we entered. We had our four children with us. The kids meals were very well thought out. Our youngest son ordered steak eggs and fries. The steak was cut to small bite sizes which was perfect for him and lovely mushrooms placed over the little bite sizes of steak. The seafood cabonara was amazing!!!! Im not a fan of mussels but this dish was devine! We felt very relaxed and took our time as the atmosphere was lovely. Would definietly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to have a beautiful meal at a decent price! And we will definitely be returning here next time we stay in Napier 😊

A nice touch also is a bag of activities, crayons etc which our 3 year old daughter abolutely loved. Nice work Boardwalk, keep it up !

5 STAR RATING!!! I have visted many restaraunts in the world and this would be one of the BEST! Today my family and i came for breakfast/lunch! From the moment we walked through the door we got BRILLIANT service. After we ordered my son 'who wasn't feeling very well' spewed all over the table. Instead of acting all grosed out the staff helped us clean it up and even washed my sons clothes. They also offered him a blanket and to lie down on the couch while we ate. The food is literally to die for!!!! My steak was so juicy and DELICIOUS!!! Everything about my meal and all the other meals we got were 5 STAR!!!! I can't thank the staff at Boardwalk Beach restaurant enough for making a horrible and embarrassing situation so much easier to deal with. I will definitely be back.

It was a FABULOUS day in the Bay and some friends and I got together for lunch - me being back from out of town wanted to try something new. The location is to die for and sooooo wonderful to see people making the most of the sea. However, the food was another thing altogether. The seafood platter sounded and looked delicious but the mussels and pippis were dry. Then there was the Thai Beef Salad - it was basically a plate of noodles, lettuce and fried(and dry) schnitzel with none of the classic Thai flavours. I complained at the time and we got both Thai meals for half price but that is not the point - they were expensive to start with. Come on people - don't let yourselves down by serving under par food just because you have a PRIMO location and access to premium food and wine products. I hope to return in the future and find the food matches the location and the service.
