T.If you love kaimoana/seafood or just keen for the best fish and chips you must go to Takitimu Seafoods in Napier. I ordered a piece of gropher with a heap of garlic butter chips ...entirely too much for one person but luckily there were two of us. We paid $12 which is seriously, seriously good value. They do creamed paua chips for hedonists. Personally I can longer go to any other fish and chip store as I'll be doing myself a disservice.
1.We ordered fresh gunnard to be delivered yesterday 14th March ...arrived today 15th March ..in a cute little chilly bin packed with ice. Fish looks lovely and fresh.
We are impressed!
Also thumbs up to the lovely lady who helped me fix our online details for ordering when I was having great difficulties.
So all in all I am very happy with Takitimu Seafoods

a.Ordered online a punnet of fresh kinas during start of lockdown to christchurch. Placed order just after 1pm and I received it 8am the next day. Great and fast service, it did not disappoint definitely lifted my spirits up and they were soo creamy,fresh and delicious. Packaging was airtight and wrapped in a bag an placed in a polystyrene box with a freezer pack which kept it cool.Worth the delivery fee . Yes I would highly recommend and yes I would go through them again

L.Felt like treating the family to some fresh home cooked fish. A great selection and range of prices to suit your palate/pocket, it looked good and no smell. I asked the lady serving me which was best to batter, bake, pan fry. She was quite helpful. I chose king fish. It was a bit pricey, but cos its a treat why not!!! OMG, it was delicious, crumbed and fried. Would definitely by again.

t.Was a nice birthday present I mean out of this world birthday present, I was surprised with a kg of Tuatua, kg of King prawns, King crab, Salmon, Kina and Oysters. They arrived on time nice and chilled and very fresh thanks to the team at Takitimu Seafood and thanks to my Tamariki I really appreciated that.

A.Have had really nice fish n chips here many times but Saturday's experience was the opposite. Scallops the size of a 10cent coin (if not smaller) @ a cost of $2 each were burnt. Oysters were burnt & gurnard fish tasted off & burnt. Everything was over cooked & no salt. Might be they had a busy day but still we pay good money to get a disappointed feed. Fingers crossed it was a one off.

Got two half crayfish, some type of cream paua in fried bread island style coconut raw fish and the normal fish and chps everything was amazingly delicious and really cheap. P.Great fresh fish and seafood. NZ seafood is very expensive buy admittedly it's world standard. Did not sample the fish and chips, but they certainly looked very nice.
D.Great service, seafood looked excellent. They were badly let down by the courier service. It wasn’t delivered until 3.00 in the afternoon by a grumpy driver. The container felt warm and I found that the single bag of ice had almost completely melted. Some of the prawns had half thawed and the packaging was very smelly. The fish was okay but our fridge still smells terrible. Hey Takitimu, sort out your couriers, they need to give you some sort of assurance that your orders will be delivered in a timely manner and by a driver who gives a toss.
R.Undoubtedly the best seafood outlet in Napier. We ordered Snapper fillets and Scallops to take out and have to say they were fresh and cooked to perfection - really delicious to say the least and good value for money. We asked for lemons and didn't get any served and no tartare sauce was available - however their seafood sauce was tasty. Staff very pleasant, serving and eating areas spotless. We noticed that the crab meat was approx twice the price per kg than it is at say Moore Wilsons in Wellington so pays to check prices and not assume everything is at a wholesale pricing level - however overall a must to visit in Napier if wanting a decent fish and chip meal - choices available the best I have seen anywhere - two thumbs up from the family.

C.I didn't personally get anything there. We stopped there for my partner, but he loved the fish n chips he got and was blown away by the quantity received. Good value. What I did notice was a great selection of seafood choice's and if I wasn't already full, I would have probably bought a fair bit.
P.Fantastic fried oyster plate and grilled half crayfish plate, both with yummy Cole slaw and fries. A very generous fried crumbed gurnard portion, and salmon sashimi also! Will look forward to going back for more.

s.Short: One of the best Fish'n Chips in NZ, would be 5 stars if not for hygiene issues.
Under new ownership the price has gone up but it's still very cheap compared to everything else, the place has gotten much cleaner, completely new staff that are very diligent. They also change cooking oil frequently so the Fish'n chips come out less brown and more golden.
The reason why it's not a 5 star is because of their toilet, they don't have any soap and it's very minimalistic. I want to enjoy the wonderful view of Pandora as I eat on the premise but I got nothing to wash my hands with so I take my meal home when I haven't got a hand sanitizer on me.
