Exactly what we were after Authentic Indian food, exceeded our expectations. Our waiter (possibly owner) was lovely and accommodating to make sure we had the best experience and left satisfied. Would definitely recommend!

If you live in Nelson or just visiting, this is the perfect place to go and have dinner! Affordable prices and the food is extraordinary! Also, the service from Roberto was top notch! The atmosphere that was created and being able to relax and enjoy everything was something very memorable. I would also recommend ordering Limoncello!!! That was an experience that no other restaurant has ever put on! Really highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you Roberto! We had a blast!

Excellent experience. The food is Italian at its best. Owner fronts the show and has charm generosity and considerable humour. Nelson , inspire of its population has top of the range restaurants and Lombardi's is at the top. A recent , new paint job and wall art has enhanced the ambience considerably and added so much to the experience. I hope he adds a few more Italian artistic touches to the decorative space in the future without crowding it. EXCELLENT. Do try it . You will love it.

Delicious meal! I got the steak it was perfectly cooked. The service was good, if not a little rushed feeling, but to be expected being Jan 2nd and fully booked. The Aperil spritzer was delicious, refreshing, and a must order.

A very pleasant experience all round. Loved the checked table cloths, the music and our Colombian waitress was very friendly. The food was delicious, a good pasta, the best caprese salad outside Italy, gustoso! And the most delicious chocolate cheesecake dessert, delizioso!! Can’t wait to visit Nelson again and go to Lombardi.

A favourite meeting place for a relaxed drink, a casual meal or a special dinner. The food is always fabulous (my steak last week was sublime), the wine recommendations perfect and the service first class, with a lot of good humour.

This was one of the best Italian restaurants in NZ we’ve been to. The food ( Pasta, fish and steak ) was very yummy and portions were very generous. Nice cozy environment and very nice, friendly Italian owner who served us. The best value for your money. Highly recommend and definitely will go again.

Most beautiful chicken salad I've eaten and a well presented restaurant with a slice of the old days and awesome customer service. Meals are well priced and there is also an upstairs area for dining in which is great to see. Enjoy!

The reviews were great and on entering we were warmly welcomed and seated. The drinks and the garlic bread came quickly however our mains (spaghetti) - which was only one plate between us - took over half an hour to arrive, probably longer, whilst it seemed everyone else was served around us, large groups of people. It was very strange. No apologies or reassurances until I managed to catch the manager's eye, and then still no food. Just as I was waving down the waiter to find out what was going on it finally came out. Such a shame as it completely spoiled the meal for us, which was very tasty.

I had lunch with my wife and kids after Santa parade... what a pleasant surprise! the pizzas and pasta dishes were delicious. The best pizzas I've tried in Nelson and my wife loved the pasta too, the people and service were amazing, the restaurant decoration is so unique. If you haven't visited this restaurant you have to. We will definitely come back.

We came for lunch on the Sunday 18th July, we couldn't decide with all the places around, we were really happy we chose this one. We had a pizza (roberto) and a pasta (carbonara) to share for the two of us. The food was absolutely delicious, couldn't tell you which one was the best but there was nothing left on the plates. It seemed that there was only 2 people working for lunch, the lovely lady on the floor and the chef in the kitchen and they were both amazing. Well done to them and thanks again. We'll definitely be back.

We loved Lombardi's! We stopped in to dinner before a movie. The service was very friendly and quite quick. The owner came over and said "Hi" and check everything was good. I had the lamb and my wife had steak. Both were superb. Can't wait to come back for a more traditional Italian pasta dish in the future. Looked great when we saw some brought out for other customers. Was nice to sit by the open window and get a light breeze on a sunny evening.

We had an early dinner so it was quite quiet. The owner was friendly and helpful. The food was suberb. We both had the pork in a cream and mushroom sauce with piped potatoes. It was the best meal we have had in ages. Highly recommend.

The best Italian in Nelson!!! Went there for an authentic Italian dining experience and wasn’t disappointed: great host, amazing food, good wine, great atmosphere and excellent service. Their pizza is a must, and the home-made pasta is delicious. We will cross the strait more often now and not only for the lovely weather!

At last a great meal in NZ! Thank you so much to the staff and chef. We thoroughly enjoyed our Polipo, so simple and yet so right. The main we shared a pizza and a pasta Gorgonzola dish, again, flavorsome and well cooked. It would be so easy to make it too rich, but it was well balanced. Simple food cooked beautifully. The Italian wine was lovely and reasonably priced. The desserts we had pannacotta with pineapple and a chocolate torte, both a real treat. Recommend the Lomardi's Ristorante as an authentic Italian place to eat.
