Omg we went here on New Year's Eve and it was amazing. It was that awesome we actually went there 2x while staying in Nelson. Just for the cocktails and well we loved the vibe of this place. We had ordered the Seafood Tower and I must say it was amazing. Everything I love about seafood it was fresh and tasty it was a perfect dinner for two. This place had the best selection of cocktails we tried about 3each I think and if your here I highly recommend the Rose and Hibiscus Daiquiri was the best!!! Service was fantastic, the vibe and place was very cool. If in Nelson 100% worth checking out.

Absolutely love this place, I drink and eat here at least once a week. The staff have incredible service and are so amazing at what they do. Nick and the team at mama cod are always welcoming! You MUST try the blueberry chichi cocktail and the salmon poke! Fresh delish food and 5 star cocktails. Highly recommend

I’m constantly raving to anyone who’ll listen about the exceptional food, service and vibe at Mama Cod. Whether it be with your kids, a girl’s night, or dinner for 2, their array of different dining spaces have you covered. I have a number of dietary requirements and nothing is ever a problem. The drinks are creative and delicious and the staff remember your name. Simply outstanding - I’ll go back again and again! xx

What a vibe! Music was great, nice outdoor setting, cocktails were delicious and the food was an experience! We ordered a few of the small plates and we were very impressed. Lost a star as we went back a few days later to find they were closed an extra day that was not mentioned anywhere on social media. That was a bit disappointing

My first visit and it will not be my last. We had come in for the fish and chip special and we were all very happy with the meal and out of 4 plates not one had a crumb left. No problem with the portion size,Everything was cooked well and tasted great. I just about cried when I saw the drinks menu as I was driving I did have one cocktail which was delicious but we also got a taste of the capsule cocktail now that was a wow!! The service was friendly and the food arrived fast.

Nice food and reasonably priced for an upper market restaurant. My partner and I had 3 entrees, 2 mains and 2 desserts with one drink and spent $180 roughly. They did forget our drink, but it was an enjoyable evening.

We went for a date night and it fit the bill perfectly. Especially impressed with the experience of Pete the mixologist - I couldn’t decide on a cocktail and gave a loose definition of the kind of flavour I was after and he blew me away! He is very intuitive and takes a huge amount of pride in his work! We learnt something new, had a great experience and loved the atmosphere.
