So good, so filling, and great value for money, would recommend to anyone as a essential burger destination. Thanks team, I really enjoyed the meal.

100% the best burger I have ever had. I had the the Off the Hook Fish burger and it was phenomenal. So fresh and the fillings were to die for and the fish was perfect. Not to the mention the size! Safe to say I was rather chocka after finishing it! No need for chips on the side! I also have had the fish and chip meal which was equally as wonderful and I struggled to even finish it, but it's well worth it and I will most certainly be recommending to others and returning again myself!

BEST DOUGHNUTS IN NELSON 😍 and I've tried every doughnut there is. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with the perfect amount of well cooked caramel. I am obsessed with these.

It’s our first time in Nelson and we went to burger culture and weren’t that impressed but oh my god The Fat Tui is amazing, and their vegan burger is huuuuge!! Amazing stuff. Go here for sure!

Impressive fish burger with lots of goodies/salads on it, and huge. Chips were also very good, but be prepared to be very full if you have both. They have a few tables if you want to dine in, but I got takeaway. Welcome friendly service. Would recommend this place.

Had the cow paddy burger. Not overly impressed. It was big but bigger is not always better. One of the more messier burgers I have eaten. Bits fell out on the floor. Staff were very friendly. The only reason for the 3 stars.

Pleasant staff . Had used fat smell. Food good my cappuccino was not very nice. Cold , and flat . Staff should be trained to make coffee specials. Did not drink.

"The Muss" Mussel Burger: Better than the famous Fergburgers from Queenstown. Not as big, but bigger than all the rest. Juicy, tasty and worth waiting for, whereas after 20 minutes of waiting in line to order a Fergburger, and then waiting another 10 minutes for the burger to be cooked, that burger turned out to be a complete waste of time. Are they as good as Burger Fuel? Mmmm, maybe not, but this is only one burger I've tried, and they do have more variety, so at this stage I'm definitely going to go back to try all the rest, and ultimately, am thankful there are alternatives to the corporate mainstream that have great service (great service by the way!) and big tasty burgers worth the price you pay for them. 😋🍔🙏

really good big fat burger! had the cow pat with wedges and really enjoyed it! burger was fresh and juicy with crunchy lettuce and soft bun. wedges cooked to perfection. a few tables are there if you want to buy and sit there to enjoy. also great service from a family team.

Huuuge burgers, great feed after finishing the Abel Tasman. 2 vegan options (funguy burger is tasty as) and 1 vego option. Definitely get the chips too, they're wonderful

Excellent service , phenomenal food. If you love a good kiwi fush and chup then this joint rides the perfect line between the greasiness we crave in the dish but the freshness of the ingredients they use in their burgers. Unreal and a bargain for the price they charge.

Best burger I've ever had. Came here after three days of wonderful hiking through the Abel tasman national park. A actually guy recommend this place to me and my friend so we decided to drop by. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is de-lici-ous! The burgers are huge and great value! I also somehow managed to squeeze a few mini doughnuts into my full stomach afterwards and they just made my day. What a hidden gem!

I'll come all the way from Auckland again just to have another one of your amazing burgers. I got the Muss burger and it wasn't overpowering, lots of ingredients and well balanced flavour. Huge portions too. Excellent find.

Ate at this place nearly every night when I was working in the Abel Tasman. The burgers are massive and the kumara fries are insane! So pleased there’s a shop open in town!

Great burgers for this small town! I liked the taste of the cowpat and they were very generous with the fresh ingredients. Beef is not dry and had good sauces on the burger. Will definitely visit again next time im there.

Great burgers with an interesting menu. Not just some burger shack at the side of the road, these guys specialise in good ingredients and lots of them. Some of the burgers are over packed though, and serving them in a paper bag doesn't work. I ended up with a mushy ball of paper at the end end and half of it on my pants. It was still tasty though.

NOT IN ALL MY WEEK OF REVIEWING..........................have I tasted something so dam amazing. This place is incredible and is the definition of a hidden gem. The food that is produced from this bus is incredible. I will be the first to admit that when I saw that the bus was a restaurant I was apprehensive. The food is insanely good. My partner had the lamb burger and I had the fish burger which was recommended to me by a local guide. It did not disappoint and was delicious. We went all out and had the ice cream sandwich and donuts which were amazing as well. The burgers are massive! YOU MUST EAT HERE!! You will not regret it.

We visited The Fat Tui today after a day in the Abel Tasman National Park. We'd heard the burgers were good and we weren't disappointed. I had the "Off The Hook" fish burger and I'd say it was the best fish burger I've had by a long shot. My wife had "The Bullseye" steak sandwich and she loved it. Burgers are quite large and there's plenty of variety. You can also get fish and chips style food. They have ice cream sandwiches too and I was very tempted but resisted as I can't have milk products these days. This is a must have for any burger fan if you ask me!

No trip is complete to Abel Tasman (especially after walking the trail) than a burger. This burger is very unique with the toppings. There is a lot of outdoor seating so great place to hang out with friends or family.

If you come here for a burger bring your appetite. Burgers are amazing and full of all things you would expect to find in a kiwi burger; egg, beetroot, bacon etc. Owner is a friendly bloke who gives a bit of banter and delivers the coffee to your table. Enjoy before or after a hike.

Really good gourmet burgers, for a good price. The best place to stop after a day of activity in Abel Tasman National Park. Even if you don't go to Abel Tasman and just feel like a burger it's worth visiting. All seating is outside, only some is covered.

OMG! the best burgers in town!!! we have been here twice now and every time the service has been warm and friendly not to mention super accomodating! the burgers are mouth watering and full of flavour. our absolute favourites are the tui donuts coming from Auckland we have a lot of donut selections we were really struggling to find a good donut here in Nelson but man oh man the fat tui has nailed it best in the country!!! Satisfying every single person in our family at one place is hard to do especially being 7 of us, take my money you guys are awesome.

Best Gourmet burgers in town. The size is enough for two meals. Thats how I devoured my burger. Make sure you don't eat for ten hours before heading here. Also, ordered a side of wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, never thought the combination would be a bomb.

Boy the sausage rolls and cheese rolls here are great! Good hot coffee too, lovely staff. A great spot to pull into and watch the shoppers go by. Like the friendly sparrows too.

They have a seating area and a car park which is very convenient for anyone going into or coming out of the Abel Tasman walks. Will definitely be coming back here!

The biggest burgers I've seen in a long time, the burgers were very delicious, we got the hau burger to share just as well cause they're huge and the salad in the burger was really good, I will definitely get a photo to add here the next time I go!!!!

Delicious burgers, I would've loved to have multiple but I'm afraid my stomach couldn't handle it. The only things that I would change from a customer's point of view is the price and waiting time. I'd imagine the reason is just due to the size of the kitchen though, but that's what adds character. Overall it was a great place to go for lunch, and the ice cream sandwiches were a great way to top it off!

Been here a few times. Burgers are always amazing. Even reopened the store for me late tonight. Service, value and food cannot be beaten.

Do you like food? Then you need to eat here. The burgers are massive (I mean, massive) and they can cater to your gf needs, should you require. We ate here for dinner one night and it was so good we came back for lunch the next day. The ice cream sandwich is about as big as your face. The owner is friendly and doesn’t hesitate to give out advice to travelers looking for a little local knowledge Come hungry, you’ll be happy you did. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

After some disappointments in NZ, finally delicious burgers here, the best we had in a long time (beef). Very nice-sounding vegetarian and vegan options as well. Fries also home-made and super (no mayonnaise). Lots of organic drinks in the fridge. We waited for only a few minutes after ordering. Prices cheaper than most. Coffee nothing to write home about. What we didn't like: Everything wrapped in wax paper for everyone, coffee comes in a to go cup. No plates, cups or the like whatsoever.

The only Gregg's sausage roll in NZ that I've found.... Only those from the UK will understand... The best you can buy!!!!

We drove over from Kaiteriteri because of the high ratings and it was well worth it!! My husband and I both had the Fish Burger, it was incredible, my husband mentioned it was the best burger he'd ever had and I agreed! We had to come back for dinner for a second night. Delicious burgers!!

This place fits in with the laid back style of Abel Tasman. Fantastic burgers. We had the bulls eye and the fish burger both superb. Don't expect five star service it's a takeaway so that's how they keep prices to the level for just about everyone's budget. If they were at the end of our street in England I'd be regular.

The Burgers are about as good as you can get anywhere. The Bullseye was excellent. Everyone else in the group enjoyed theirs too. The biggest downside is the wait when they're busy. Took over an hour to get our food and people ordering after us were told they'll be waiting 2 hours. Best bet is a nice stroll on the beach and estuary after ordering as the food is worth the wait.

I had the fish burger. It was a very good burger but not a 5/5. Was a bit too mushy and needed more pickles or stronger tartare. Sweet potato fries were excellent, potato not as good.

Need to drive from Richmond to Abel Tasman just to have Fat Tui burgers. We placed our order and waited for 1 Hour! When we got them as usual it was a joy to eat OFF THE HOOK and this time we tried the new Fun GHi both are yummilicious , worth the trip and waiting time. We will always come back again. It is indeed one of the BEST places to go ro for a meal.

The Fat Tui was recommended to us, but we missed it the first time we went to Marahua. I think we thought the building (right before the bridge closest to the carpark) was attached to a kayaking or adventure place. Anyway, we found it the second time, and lucky for us! The vegan burger was delicious and the jet planes ........ thanks a bunch, we really enjoyed those too.

Definitely the world's best burger, perfect meat selections, perfect veggies and condiments, and perfectly toasted buns, have never found any other burger competing even close to Fat Tui's. If you're ever in Tasman region, must never miss out on this burger, don't even go for any other alternatives, doesn't even come close to this. Had the hell of a fun-ghi burger. It was phenomenal. Best burger I've ever had.

Burger was so juicy and so good! Coffee and chips were average. Fish was crunchy and yummy! Service was quick despite of the queue. Lovely staff too!

Excellent burger. But (and it's a big but) it took 80min - they said an hour. Yes, there are only 3 places to get food in the town but it shouldn't be that long. It's not busier than, say, a London market burger place (takes 20 min max wth less staff). They don't sell beer either so, you know...

All I can say; a top 10 burger to me! My spouse had a veggie, and that was very good too. Missed getting the fries, but by the looks of those eating will have to get next time.

Holy massive and delicious burgers. We went to the counter more than 3 times for different orders because the menu was so appetizing. Unfortunately they were out of ice cream sandwiches. It's tucked away but worth the stop.

Great fish and chips and burgers (with plenty if tomato sauce!). The place is popular, so the wait can sometimes be long. At least they tell you how long it will be before your food is ready, so you can go do something else while waiting.

You've not experienced a kiwi burger until you've been here. So good we went twice in 24h! Up there with Fergburger in Queenstown. Great sides and desserts as well.

Burger were good. But we have to wait for 1.5 hour without been told!!! And yet when we complained the girl still did not tell the customs who just order! We could go for a walk or have a shower or whatever but not stand there been eaten by the sand fly and wasting time!!

BEST. BURGERS. EVER. Add on the Kumara Fries for extra joy & happiness! We had Fat Tui’s on 2/3 days that we were at Abel Tasman and no regrets. Personal recommendation is to go straight for the Bulls Eye. If you’re a small eater, please share this with someone! Be prepared to get a little messy!

OK, this place is not easy to get to for a feed but omg, it has the BEST BURGERS IN NEW ZEALAND, end of story.......... There is no question. Just read the reviews then go there and eat. The staff are great, the scenery is awesome and food is out of this world. Only one small issue, the doughnuts are more like doughnuggetts. Lol......they have no hole, just small dough balls.

Nos pedimos dos hamburguesas: la Sparrow Fart and Cowpat. Muy sabrosas.

(Translated) We only know the store from its former location when it was still a food truck. Truly one of the best burgers we've ever eaten! I can only recommend it. (Translated) We had heard of the Fat Tui burger as an insider tip - were skeptical when we saw a construction trailer - amazed when we skipped the burger options - impressed when we got our burgers and fries and blown away when we ate them. Absolutely to be recommended! We went straight back after our hike through Able Tasman NP. (Original) Wir hatten von dem Fat Tui Burger als Geheimtip gehört - waren skeptisch, als wir einen Bauwagen sahen - staunten, als wir die Burgeroptionen laßen - beeindruckt, als wir unsere Burger und Pommes bekamen und hin und weg, als wir sie dann aßen. Absolut zu empfehlen! Sind nach unserer Wanderung durch den Able Tasman NP direkt noch einmal hin.

(Translated) This snack was recommended to us. The burgers were good but not really that special. A lot of burgers differed only in the meat, the remaining ingredients were always the same. Waiting time of 40 minutes was absolutely intolerable for a snack. There is another star deduction for the price. The burgers cost exactly the same as in the restaurant with service and no beer was sold to save on license costs. (Original) Uns wurde dieser Imbiss empfohlen. Die Burger waren gut aber nicht wirklich was besonderes. Sehr viele Burger unterschieden sich nur im Fleisch, die restlichen Zutaten waren dann immer gleich. Wartezeit war mit 40 min absolut untragbar für einen Imbiss. Einen weiteren Stern Abzug gibt es für den Preis. Die Burger kosten genauso viel wie im Restaurant mit Bedienung und es wurde kein kein Bier verkauft um Lizenzkosten zu sparen.
