Enjoyed the time here... The staff was really friendly and great to communicate with...the wine I had was amazing...I'd definitely go back for the wine(😩😌) As for the food, I might sound picky but I do enjoy food(bit of a food connoisseur) and definitely will give an honest review on that...The king prawns were amazing....I was looking forward for the mains... The beef cheeks and the veggies were underseasoned... Maybe add a bit more jus as the whole dish was dry and the veggies didn't have any sauce to go with... I think roasting the veggies will change the whole dish to another level. Steamed/boiled veggies just didn't go very well with the meat...the potatos on the other hand was just amazing(chef's kiss)... Perfectly cooked and complimented the meat very well...some parts of the meat was a bit overcooked... would have taken the dish to the next level with a little bit of seasoning and sauce...for the price I paid, it was quite underwhelming... would definitely come back to see if the chefs stepped their game up. Hope y'all take this extensive review as a positive opportunity to improve ❤️

Visited as part of a large group and had a fantastic time here. Service staff were friendly and very accommodating, and food came out at a good rate considering the large group. The food was excellent too, with good sized portions. 5 dishes between 2 people for lunch was plenty. Definitely a place to visit again!

Awesome place 2nd time here for a dinner everything was great from the time we entered right till we left thank you to the staff only got pictures of our deserts

The "tapas" menu is amazing and super fun, lots of delicious dishes and plenty of GF options. The tuna tartare was to die for and the service can't get any better. We felt welcomed the minute we arrived and well looked after throughout the night. Can't wait to go again!

Had a wonderful lunch in a beautiful restaurant with a group of 15. The food was beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful. The lunch took a while to come out but it came out quickly for the group. Looking forward to coming again.

Staff were awesome , cheerful and very accommodating to our every need. The young man that waited on us needs a pay rise. We were very full after our main but he tempted us with the desert menu . We had to have it. The meal , the facilities and the view were incredible. Thankyou to everyone. Our stay in the motorhome parkup was perfect.

Visited during its afternoon closing hour. Majestic view awaits its customers, chalet renters, function guests. A few hills in the property presents a beautiful & delightful scenery. Road is a bit narrow & “crawl” @ bends as they are blind spots. Have a cup of coffee & enjoyable breeze wind & soothing sounds of waves

The food is delicious. There is a great view of the mountains from the parking lot and some of the tables, most of the tables have a great view of the picturesque blue sea and the countryside. They have lots of fancy foods as well as a kids menu. The food is very expensive but it's also very good. The restaurant is nice and clean and the staff seem to enjoy their job.

From drinks on the deck on arrival, incredible sunset views to the delicious food & great service it was all amazing! The pork belly was SO tasty and just melt in the mouth goodness & cheesecake, mmmmm.......

Finally got to see for ourselves why our friends from Auckland raved about this restaurant. Delicious food and excellent wines. I chose from the set menu and had the king prawns for entree, there were a generous amount of prawns (i found the sauce a little over salted, but I think only because I don't like too much salt and definitely didn't make it unpalatable!) Then the pork belly....devine!!! The good sized piece of pork was cooked to perfection and the crackling was how crackling should be, again perfect! The mash and pickled red cabbage also a highlight and perfect accompaniment to the pork. Sticky date pudding followed.....YUMM! Restaurant was quite busy but staff were exceptional and friendly and food didn't take long to arrive at our table (well done Chefs😁). Will be back for sure! Such a gorgeous location so will come for lunch or early dinner to check out the spectacular views and more of the other dishes available as menu has a lot to choose from! .

Everything was good. The cuisine was excellent and the service from the staff was great. The view was also art.

Lovely venue, pleasant staff, but was disappointed with my meal - thai beef salad was totally soaked with salad dressing. The other meals looked good though.

Great drive in; creates an air of expectancy... sadly white on white and all angles and straight lines diminished the expected vibe. Great food. Awesome service. No charter within the venue by night. One can't see the the ocean.

We celebrated 55 years of marriage. Our food was delicious, well presented with good quantity for cost. The ambience was good and for a chilly night the dining area was comfortably warm. The staff were very attentive, pleasant, bright and cheerful. The only disappointment was that the menu had changed from the one online that we had printed, salivated over, and decided on, only to find some of our selections were not available on the new menu, however, what we did get was so good we would not hesitate to return again. Thank you Okurukuru.

A beautiful place to visit especially evenings and the sunset. We were part of a group of 28. Meals were delivered promptly. Table service was excellent. All meals were of a high standard and the wine the same. A good evening with Mt Taranaki in the background when leaving. Thank you.

First time at the restaurant last night. Turns out my partner has been there quite a few times.Her favourite place. Have to agree. Lovely place to walk into. Very friendly staff. Food was amazing as was the wines.. May be should not have shared the desert.!! Couldnt comment on coastal views as daylight saving has well gone. Quick service of meals even with a large number of guests in, was great too... See you again for sure.!!

Food and wine is amazing, service is great, the views is to die for, but I have to say that in a busy day the inside tables can get pretty loud.

Such a fabulous spot for our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Everyone had such an awesome time. The food and service was fantastic, everyone looked after us so well. Would highly recommend this as a venue for any special occasion or just to go and have a lovely meal out. The surrounds and views are just wonderful, thank you so much to all the staff for making it such a cool day, and easy to organise.

Love this place for its fantastic location - stunning on a fine day. Some great food and wine (but I'm not a wine connoisseur so don't know about their wine). Enjoyed the seafood platter. Service was not always great - the manager(?) guy was not all that friendly and accommodating on a busy day and for event planning.

Seafood chowder was yum. Crispy skin off the duck , cooked perfectly. Panfried fish , under done, mmmmm

Best meal I have had in a long time, great service, great food

We recently held our 2018 Conference in New Plymouth and our 80 strong group enjoyed a 5 course degustation dinner. The food was awesome as was the service. We had several people with dietary requirements and this was well catered for. People raved about the food for days. Sadly low cloud prevented us from enjoying what is supposed to be a spectacular view - a perfectly good reason to ensure a return visit!! Paula -FDANZ

We attended a wedding here, and the experience was great. The service was fantastic, the food was top notch, and the views are great, as are the grounds. Judging by the other reviews here, this place is better as an event venue rather than a casual restaurant.

A fantastic setting with panoramic coastal views. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Families also seemed to enjoy the environment!

Good was fantastic the steak superb and tasty , venison even better . We even had desert as it all looked so good . Fantastic service , friendly and efficient . If you are going to one place in New Plymouth this is it . The view is superb !

Been here a few times and thought its only fair to share how wonderful this place is. A winery restaurant located on a hill by the sea. It's great to walk outside the exterior. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly.
