Outstanding restaurant with great service given the staff were extremely busy. Third time we have dined here and I couldn’t fault any dishes ordered. You need to book well in advance and don’t expect a quick dining experience. This is a very busy establishment for good reason. And to top it off this is the view from the outdoor dining area

Beautiful place and great food. Solid wine list with not a huge range but most palates would be pleased. Kids menu was flexible. Adults menu was seasonal and delicious. Loved the attentive and friendly service. Would certainly come back again and again and again.

Had a great meal last night, 3 courses and all were excellent . Seafood chowder, fish of the day and strawberry cheesecake. The restaurant was very busy (possibly due to it being last night before entering the new Covid traffic light system) but all staff were really pleasant and efficient. Saw the Karen (or Kar-Annie?) below having a go at the manager/owner, she was extremely rude, yelling in his face and chasing him into the kitchen while he was doing his best. For someone that is ex hospo she should know how not to treat people in the industry. Pity someone didn't throw her off the wharf!

We had takeaways from here. Seriously, the most ridiculously good batter and fish I have ever eaten. Don’t bother with the crab sticks.

Spectacular location in Ohope, Whakatane. A very popular dinner (only) place so, if possible, make a reservation. We were lucky to fet a table for two without a reservation but were told we'd need to vacate 75 minutes later. Filly Fully licensed restaurant + fish and chips on-the-wharf style dining. Wine selection satisfactory although a somewhat limited by-the-glass selection of wines. Next time we'll book ahead if we can (bearing in mind the venue doesn't open until 5pm).

This restaurant/cafe is fabulous. Have been a few times now and never disappointed. The fish is fresh and beautifully cooked. Lovely views out to the harbour if you sit near the windows. Very busy over the holiday period. They also run takeaways next doors and that is very popular as well. Have yet to try this.

We were a party of 20 and every one of us had absolutely awesome food. The meals all came out together and were warm and well presented. I had Blue moki on crushed potatoes and asparagus. We had the most enjoyable evening with our friends at Fisherman's Wharf Cafe when we visited NZ in August 2018. This restaurant deserves every 5 stars awarded. The food was delicious, as soon as we walked in the atmosphere was happy and buzzing with people really enjoying themselves. The staff were excellent and friendly. Well done to the owner for creating such a lovely place and will definitely visit again when next in NZ.

Superb food, ambience and service. Very friendly waitstaff and attentive to our needs. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. They were fully booked but managed to slot us in to our delight. Cannot recommend the food enough. We got a selection of small plates as we couldn't decide, each one substantial and yummy. Must visit this place; it is a destination in itself, never mind its stunning scenery.
