M.Great food though a very slow service. I had their eye fillet which was excellent. The starter was very tasty and well presented. The desert looked great and tasted fine. The service staff may need some training and the ambience is clean though a little lacking in character. Certainly lots of upside potential here. The chef knows how to cook and present! The wait during a busy dinner time was around 90 minutes.
M.Really delicious! They provide vegan options if you ask for them. I had an incredible vegan tofu quinoa salad and my friend had a delicious lamb rump. Am going back again this Sunday!
A.10/10 overall for service & atmosphere.
We had the breads and dips and Brie cheese for start, all flavours were lovely. 9/10
Then for main I had the eye fillet and got extra Mushroom & Béarnaise sauce. Sauces and jus were quite strong but my eye fillet was cooked to perfection 👌🏼 Potatoes were lovely. 9/10
My friend had prawn ravioli, I think she was expecting prawns with ravioli but it’s minced up prawns in the ravioli. 9/10
And the desserts were amazing to look at.
We got the strawberry taco 🌮 10/10
And the Lemon tart 9/10.

A.Saw Amayjen had moved to Palmerston North so went to check it out for lunch. Absolutely amazing!! Great lunch menu with a range of dishes suited for everyone, drinks menu had a good selection, staff were all friendly, venue looks gorgeous! Food was also amazing and at a great price. Dumplings come with a bit of spice which is a pleasant surprise. Very warm and cozy, highly recommend this place to everyone.
A.We went in tonight for some cocktails & food. Best food we’ve tasted for a while! Lamb Rump was cooked perfectly & Scotch Fillet was divine, our platter was very tasty too. I got the Woo Woo cocktail - it was soo refreshing & my partner got the Toblerone cocktail which was delicious. Everything was top notch - including the service from the lovely staff! We will 100% be back for more!!! Thanks guys.

N.Went to the new restaurant for my birthday tea. Really lovely space and awesome front of house service. Disappointed that our meals took 1 hour from ordering to arrive. A shame there are no vegetarian options for dinner on the set menu. I tried the fish (snapper) and it was very tasty.
P.Great food, good service. We had been running late, and as you can imagine they were keen to get us through for another table coming in, but weren't hurried and they popped us to another area for our dessert.
S.I would like to thank the owner of Amayjen for outstanding customer service. I had a work colleague who was visiting from out of town. She wanted to have a barista made coffee. When we approached Amayjen the first person we spoke to said that they were closed. When my colleague asked if we could have takeaway coffee the owner was more than happy to make us one. Thank you for your kindness and for making our day.

A.Have eaten at Amayjen in Feilding and our recent visit in Palmerston North had shown the same great standards have transfered across. We had entrees, mains and desserts and all were faultless. Add in a great wine and beer list, friendly service and it really is at the top of restaurants in Palmerston North.
l.Sorry, but we were quite disappointed with our dining experience on Friday evening. Table for 2 restaurant not busy. Took a while to take our drinks order so were able to order our entree and mains at the same time. Menu is fairly limited - only 7 options for mains and much as the descriptions sounded interesting and full of flavour what we got was really plain and simple. My lamb rack said it was with curried cauliflower which I thought would be an interesting taste but I could hardly find the 3 or 4 tiny pieces of cauli on my plate. My 4 small cubes of potato also seemed a very small portion for a $38 meal. My hubbies steak meal had heaps of potato mash and a large portion of broccoli in comparison. Service speed was fine but we didn't receive a meal check from our friendly waitress and when we were finished we were told we couldn't be supplied with a doggie bag for our left over steak and lamb. Siting Covid 19 policy, I quickly explained that I had received a container to take home left overs at the restaurants I'd visited over the past month and suggested that management had better up their game. My 3 stars is rather complimentary for a restaurant that I'm not keen to visit again. Palmy has way too many great dining experiences to return to this one.

We all had the beef gourmet burgers, we all didn’t enjoy as the chutney was way too sweet and the potatoes that came with it had a funny taste.
R.I can see why they are one of the top restaurants in New Zealand. The baked Brie was great as was the parmesan tart, the super well flavored and hearty potato leek soup. The pumpkin tarting was delicious and went well with the suggested Cicada gewurztraminer. The smoked salmon was also good.

C.Wow, what an experience! I come to Amayjen regularly, it has become a go to restaurant for myself and my family. The service is always impeccable, all staff are very welcoming and very friendly, the owner especially. I've always been made to feel right at home whenever I step foot in the door. The food is beyond delicious, it's always a sad moment when you take that very last bite. Anywhere else I have eaten out at has never lived up to the quality of food and service I receive from Amayjen. I recommend coming here to everyone I speak to. 10/10

J.Went for dinner with friends, we were seat in the booth by the front door, everything the door opened, I got a blasted of cold air, never took off my jacket. The staff were nice. Took over an hour to get our food and this place was not busy. I swapped out mashed potato for fries. My total bill was $55, this was steak $39.90, got charged $8 for my handful of fries and then that would make my lemon lime and bitters $7.10. The steak was large, came with three onion rings and one stick of vege. Overall not in hurry to go back.

T.We dined here last night..when we arrived our table was still occupied, and after a stroll around the block we were warmly greeted again and seated. It was a sensational night, the food was unbelievable the best steak ever for my partner, my lamb wow, and the vegetables like I have never experienced before.. A taste sensation.. The wine we ordered from the menu was unavailable, but Pinot Noir recommended by the owner was lovely.. However it was her second recommendation, a Hilok from Central Otago that was stunning. This restaurant is absolutely devine and worth every penny spent.. 💖💖. 10/10

Unfortunately great food comes at a cost and this was really the most expensive place to eat in town. Disappointed to hear that they have moved to Palmerston North as Feilding needs more businesses like this.

The desert, chosen for us by family in USA, was baked Alaska 'plus' appearing like little hedgehogs, relating to an experience from earlier in the day - one of the finest desserts we have ever enjoyed, beautifully presented.
S.A good evening out. Tried out “Trust the Chef” six course meal with drinks. Food was lovely, although a bit more on a couple of courses would have been good. Service was great. Disappointed ☹️ with the price however. (Too be fair I did know prior), so expected more bang for my buck. Have tried this style of meal before at The Mount, which was cheaper with bigger portions. Should have stuck with a la carte. Very expensive night as drinks are small (60ml) with each course and quite a lag in between courses. So bought extras. $533 later. 🤔 😡 2 people.
T.We were part of a group booking for 20 people. This could make you think there would be issues with the service and food quality. Not here! The set menu we had to choose from offered a range of tasty options that when served, were even more delicious than they were described. Nothing was left amiss, even those with special dietary requirements were not made to feel excluded. The service was second to none, with regular visits to our group by staff to check on drink requirements and food satisfaction. Finally, Jenni the Owner/Manager is just amazing at keeping the place ticking over with a calm, polite and friendly demeanour. She really looked after us and made us feel welcome, as if we were family who had come to visit. Thanks Amayjen team. Just superb.

Unique, rich, fantastic fushion of flavour and textures, delicate desserts, perfect wines matching by our hostess. Will dine again! Don't understand the reviews about rudeness, front to back very accommodating to our needs (gluten and dairy free), the owner was very nice, staff attentive but not pushy at all, we were there three hours.
B.Took my husband and eight year old daughter Saturday night (for an early father’s day). The food was perfection and the staff amazing. It was a pleasure seeing the owner support her staff with service. Our daughter was made to feel as special by staff & the children’s menu was high quality.
L.I went to Amayjen for dinner. The food was exceptionally good and the wine was amazing. Had the mushroom lasagna for dinner and it was the best meal I have ever had. It was so delicious! Overall the food, wine and service were excellent!

Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by the kind a friendly staff who showed us to our table, we were a big group of 10 and they were very accommodating for us all.
It was an outstanding menu and when all our meals came out we were in awe! The food presentation was fantastic and was very delicious.

I believe it could stand alongside any of the most highly rated international restaurants that I have been lucky enough to have eaten at. The food was glorious, there’s an exciting menu with well considered wine and beer recommendations. The food heroes fresh local produce and was beautifully cooked and presented and the serving sizes were generous. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try a dessert so I will be returning there soon for a repeat experience. Fine dining combined with a very cool modern decor and wonderful service. B.I was hoping to write a good review about Amayjen, but come away feeling that the place has a somewhat inflated reputation.
My first thought was that it was quite cramped (which isn't an issue), but for such a cosy looking dining area, it wasn't warm inside - almost needed to keep my jacket on.
The staff were quick to attend to patrons, but didn't seem to have a grasp on what the specials were, she had to run away and check on one occasion.
When we ordered, my wife asked for her lamb to be prepared medium (she doesn't like blood covering her plate). The hostess argued that lamb should be prepared rare, and pressured her for what seemed like minutes before finally agreeing (isn't the customer's request final?). I ordered the scotch fillet, medium rare.
The meals were prepared in a timely fashion, gave us enough time to have a chat and soak in what there was of the atmosphere.
When the meals arrived it looked to be fine - but for myself, the mashed potato served was lumpy and very dry, and the cut of meat had a LOT of gristle (portion size was fine - 300g), and found myself performing minor surgery for the duration of the meal.
My wife did enjoy what she had of the lamb, but found the portion size paled in comparison to my dish, and felt that the price we had paid (much higher than anywhere else in feilding), it was lacking.
We didn't stay long after the meal, and I thought to myself 'I won't be coming back', but I believe in second chances, and I may consider trying it again, but I won't be recommending it to anyone - that's for certain.

M.Unbelievable meals!! Cannot rate it high enough. Staff were absolutely amazing and so was the owner . Will definitely be back again. 😊

D.Food & service .mostly good, but a little disappointing in some aspects. Overall we didn't think it had the 'wow' factor that we had anticipated, given there was a Michelin starred Chef there! Also, whilst knowing it would be expensive, didn't really feel it was value for money. We put ourselves in the Chef's hands and chose to have the matching wine choices as well but some were not great and didn't really work, so not sure how wine knowledgeable the Waiter/Maitre D' was?
