R.We recently had our social event there with the Ulysses Motorbike club. 30+ people and they had on top another group in the restaurant. This was the first time I only received positive feedback from every single one in our group. Food was exceptional and so was the service. I personally visited the second time and again I would give 7 stars for food and service. When you book a visit, be prepared to be pampered.
T.Incredible food! My new favourite restaurant on the Kapiti Coast. Customer service was fantastic, they opened up specially for a birthday dinner. Will definitely be returning - can't recommend this restaurant enough! Thanks for a great night
A.What a wonderful place for a small function. We held a function here for 40 people and it was perfect. The food was delicious and plentiful and staff were wonderfully accommodating, they even went above and beyond helping our guests to their taxis at the end of the evening. All in attendance had a fantastic time. The booking was easy to make, communication was quick and they put us at ease with the menu options, bar tab and allowing us to decorate early.
I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Anzil as a function venue to anyone. We looked at so many venues here on the Kapiti Coast for a smallish venue and this one ticked all our boxes with easy access, great parking and on budget. Thanks Anzil, we'll be back again.
M.Had a great lunch here today, at Anzil Hungarian Restaurant. Excellent service, very attentive and friendly staff, cosy ambience. Had some live-music there as well which was pleasant.Our food was delicious, I particularly liked the Hungarian sausage that came with the French Toast, my wife enjoyed the Eggs Florentine with Spinach. I can recommend this restaurant, the food is good and reasonable priced too.

H.Birthday dinner with 20+ guests. Absolutely superb food and enjoyed by all. Special dishes for vegetarian and vegan which they loved. The meat trays were amazing and the lamb was so tender and tasty. Highly recommended.

The best part of the event was the great service, from mother and son (Ivett and Szilard) of this family owned business , which was friendly efficient and unobstrusive. Highly recommend this venue.
D.A lovely family-owned and operated hidden treasure in the Kapiti. Food is excellent and the wines are absolutely gorgeous. Atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The live music was a great touch. D.Tonight i went to Anzil believing i had a booking but when i got there and it was closed I realised it was the following week. The team at anzil were there preparing food for the next day and and invited us in anyway. I cant find the words to describe tonight and how amazing it was. They not only invited us in but prepared the most amazing food for us . They were so friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was out standing with a variety of meats which were perfectly cooked and delicious salads to compliment. I totally recommend Anzil and the awesome people there . U can bet that we will be back for sure. Anzil you rock, cant thank you enough for tonight 😊

A.This was my first experience of eating at Anzil, and it certainly won't be my last. A small group of us booked in for a dinner, and it was wonderful!
Lamb shanks, Pork Belly, and Beef on the rib, all cooked to perfection.
The side dishes were all delicious, and for a fat former Glaswegian, whose idea of a salad is a plate of chips, the field mushrooms, broccoli mix, cauliflower (with cheese!), boiled baby potatoes, and the Spinach & Gorgonzola were all to die for!
The service was excellent.
If you prefer to choose from a dinner menu, this is not the place for you.
But I cannot emphasise enough, that for a lovely familial setting, and a superb meal, this is the place to go!
I'm really looking forward to my next visit!
B.Lunched at ANZIL today with delicious food (combination of brunch and Hungarian menus). The service was excellent, and the live music provided was most enjoyable. Well worth the drive out from Wellington. Ample parking

J.A lovely spot and a comfortable setting, the relaxed lack of loud music much appreciated. Service friendly and the food excellent, a taste from Eastern Europe. We returned a second time and will came back again. The trip out of Waikanae, to the library and mall, followed by a more than pleasant lunch and a walk in the nearby nikau grove, made for a thoroughly satisfying day.
S.Great atmosphere, great food and great people! This is a hidden gem within the Kapiti Coast and I really hope more people get out there to visit and experience the magnificent food they prepare. The food and coffee was so good on the Saturday, that we returned with friends on the Sunday - needless to say, we will be regulars.
E.Long been going to visit this restaurant, and it really was worth it! Here we have tasted the most delicious and tender meat since our arrival in New Zealand (7 months). Everything is delicious! And the main dishes and desserts! Also, we bought great cheese here. Great friendly staff, quiet atmosphere. It’s a must-visit place!
M.Absolutely amazing food! Yvette the owner beautiful host invited me and my collegue with our partners to try her lovely Hungarian dinner that her and her husband has prepared. Great customer service and super friendly, music band was wonderful and entertaining. I do definitely recommend this place, we had veal shanks so soft and tender broke apart so easily, pork belly was cooked to perfection, roasted vegetables, asparagus that was so rich full of flavor, beautiful paired with the salad and cranberry sauce. Next came dessert was delicious we had the apple strudel light and fluffy after a big dinner. Shared meal was between 4 people but defs could fit an extra 2 people as it was a big portion 😋
H.Awesome hearty hungarian food, served with a warm and friendly smile. Reasonably priced options. The food was delicious and there was a great range of dishes, my group struggled to decide which one of the amazing options to choose and all of us enjoyed our meals greatly. The only reason it didn't get five stars is that the location (in the Lindale centre) is quite out of the way, but if you are looking for a hidden gem, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.
A.We went to Anzil with a group of friends, and the owner was kind enough to pre-prepare a few delicious dishes for us, so we almost immediately could enjoy our first meal after arriving. There were plenty of options for sharing, and they were happy to accommodate everyone's needs in the group. The food was authentic Hungarian and really delicious, also good value for money. Staff is really friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again!

N.ANZIL's totally brimming with old world charm. The restaurant is warm and homely and the food comforting - the beef cheek casserole was a winner for me, slowly cooked in a rich broth and seasoned with paprika, it was delicious. This is a family run business, and these folks put a lot of love into what they do. Check out the cheeses, breads and cured meats that are made here too - not only did we have a great lunch, but we also left with armfuls of Hungarian deli goodness. Try it, you'll leave happy...
