Delicious food, modern take on Baja Cali fare. Fish tacos made fresh, solid drinks fridge, with karma , kombucha etc even Heiny Zero!Wicked atmosphere, street food / back alley vibes right across from the beach, and awesome staff who serve quick n cheerfully, and seem like they ready to party at the drop of a hat. Or maybe they already are partying … hard to tell. The art is decent too, graffiti styles by some Mountain Duck guy. All up a vibe, def worth a drive out for, just don’t ask for deep fried battered fish 😅 Their pies are mean though, go for the Nacho if you’re not too slow.

Beautiful coffee and friendly staff. Coffee was on the small side but can't fault the taste. The breakfast burito was delicious 👌

Love, love, love this place! So much in fact that I brought one of their amazing singlets. The food is delicious and there is always an amazing vibe. Tunes are excellent and I've since listened to their playlist on Spotify. Thanks guys, you're doing such a great job!

Vibe of Murray Piha is great but the food needs to improve. Flavor profiles of such simple food need to be fresh and flavorful, which wasn't what I experienced. Busy but I think due to limited options in the area.

Went to Pita for some R&R, dinner by the beach, food supplied by Murray Piha. Great food, fish taco, quesadiila, large fries. Friendly, happy staff, good senses of humour. We will return.

Best food, best people, best vibes! Breakfast Bowl and a coffee is the BEST way to start a morning! Tacos are delicious and its the best coffee in Piha as well! Not to be missed!

Love Murray! Can always rely on a delicious meal no matter what you choose. Ceviche and soul bowls are personal favs! Oh and the breakfast burrito of course.

Love heading to Murray's. Cool little place serving a great range of quick serve food and dronks. Their Mexican food is excellent. We enjoyed their hand cut fries and Poutine. Not the traditional version but tasty. Good coffee as well. Heard the shakes are tasty. This is perfect food for you to enjoy at Piha.

John Thrush - regarding your review below - I would HIGHLY recommend taking a leap of faith and order the calamari with a side of chips. Just like fish and chips but way betterer! So much betterer. a very cute place to grab a bite while enjoying everything that piha has to offer! hidden away in a container murray servers beautiful food, ice cream, coffee and sodas. murray’s menu is simple fresh and delicious with quick service and casual benches for eating. this is not a restaurant it is more likely to be described as a takeaway restaurant with seating options available! i would strongly recommend trying the beautiful guacamole they make and definitely trying the beautiful fish tacos!

Went last fall before they shut down for the winter season. Pricey for the small portions. Tried 4 different tacos and they all came with a fruity slaw which made them all taste very sweet. The fish and fruit slaw combo was good but it didn't work for the others, especially for the already sweet pulled pork. Was surprised that there were only two prawns on the prawn taco. Relaxed environment on the beach was nice.

Fantastic staff, food, and chilled local vibe. They have different specials to keep things fresh. Best Mexican in Piha, fact! Best hand scooped ice-cream in Piha, fact! Best coffee in Piha hmm debatable! But what they do have is the best welcoming attitude cause they are locals whom love Piha! Musics always playing and the free DJ gigs turn into great street parties! This place is just winning.

Murray is one of my favourite places to eat in Auckland! The food is always so fresh and filled with delectable flavours, the staff are the friendliest around and summertime music in the driveway is unmissable. Do yourself a favour and head out to Piha for Murray's epic Mexican inspired fare set in the most beautiful spot right by the beach.

$8 tacos were tiny for the price. Nachos were good. Can be better. I absolutely know that taco is a snack - however if you look at the authentic mexican food places around Auckland they serve at least two for a price of $8-9, their individual tacos costing around the $4.5-5 mark. I can understand that a location like Piha might affect the price however the mexican place in mission bay charge $9 for a very generous portion of a taco. Hence the expectation was to find a decent portion of one or at least two morsels of food. Also, the meat in the tacos was much less compared to the generous servings in these said places.

Easily the best place in Piha to get some Kai! Always have some good beats playing, and a tasteful selection of beach-side food to choose from. Burrito if you're hungry, tacos if you want to hit a swim after! Oh, and they do Eighthirty coffee... and they're beach front!!!!! Full package! Shot to the team at Murray!

Disappointing service - was difficult to place order over the phone. Poutine was served almost 25 minutes before our burritos - would of been nice to have them served at the same time. Fresh food, everything tasted good.

Well 1* for excellent customer service, 1* for yammy food, 1* for perfect location right at South Piha, 1* for the great vibe family & stuff create and 1* for the perfect spot to connect with locals, family & friends. Great affordable place. Friendly staff. Dog friendly, directly opposite to Piha main beach. Caters for coffee / tea drinkers, snacks, takeaways. Order at the connex made into the shop and pick up food inside at the caravan. They even do a nice raw fish bowl. Great selection of music played throughout to set the vibe.
