j.Nice dining experience.
We had pizza's which were really tasty.
Very reasonable prices, great decor, clean & tidy.
Highly recommend if you are driving through and feel like a bite to eat.
O.Whenever we pass this small town, we stay for lunch /dinner at this place. It's always busy and no surprise as food is delicious, meal sizes are enormous, and the range of beer is quite good.

G.This place was awesome. I would love to go back and eat some more. We went with a couple of friends and ordered almost everything on the menu and tried all the local beers. They even had wine on tap.
A.New management and looking for new ideas to encourage a younger crowd and keep existing patrons happy. Fish and chips a little expensive at $27 but beers varied and cold
J.Beautiful place weve been here a handful of times and ordered something different, we bring the children and they have a blast outside in the child friendly area. This area is also sheltered, so if its raining the children can still play. This time round we've just found the most yummiest fish and chips! Also available to take away. So when we feel like fish n chips we will order from here, be worth the travel. AND the staff are always friendly!!

T.I attended on a motorcycle poker run and even though the service was a little bit slow, the food was amazing, along with great service. There was 94 in our group, so understandably it took awhile for everyone's orders to be completed. The food was well worth the wait and I'd definitely go back there again. Great beef burger and chips. The steak sandwiches looked pretty good too. The tomato sauce is really yummy!!
J.Awesome atmosphere, great menu, well priced. Very nice and warm community feeling! Worth the ride out from Hamilton. They also help with community fundraisers which is beautiful 💚. Great quiz night..went there last night! So beautiful that you a consolation prize for our team too! When helpimg community we are indeed all winners! First time I forgot to take food photos but the Haloumi was yummm and food on others plates looked yummmers too!
T.staff are friendly and food is very nice and main meal was fast, then seen to get forgotten about. Kids were waiting for their ice cream Sunday, in the end we had to ask. Very enjoyable and would recommend.

It was bit late and kitchen was already closed but one of the staff talked with chef on duty and they cooked for us beef burger and beef ribs, both plates were so delicious. 100% recommended.

E.I had the beef burger; really good, fresh and had a beet on it which was a great addition. My wife had the chicken pasta salad. Her meal was also very fresh and tasted great. If you are passing through it's a great stop and has a large selection of beer.

N.Every time I come here I get the best food! Haven't had a bad meal yet! Great service and atmosphere. Also a good place to eat if you have a dog with you, lots of outdoor seating and they provide water bowls.

M.We went here for the first time just before Christmas and had lunch there. The food (although taking 45 minutes from ordering) was great. The portion sizes were very big, giving us great value for the prices (which were very reasonable). We will be going there again soon. Great food, great service also. Recommended.

Burger was a little bland and on a relatively tough ciabatta bun - which made it difficult to eat as you had to sort of tear a mouthful of food away from the burger.
Staff were friendly and provided prompt service so no complaints there.
J.Super friendly staff and fries is yummy. They have toddler play area at the book. They have lots of stuff to do. Its a great place to rest, relax, recharge when going for a long drive.

S.A wonderful small village pub in one of N.Z 's nicest rural villages. We find it more enjoyable during the day when its not so busy but if you want to watch the locals go in the evening. A nice area out front where you can sit under shade and watch traffic go by or a nice indoor/outdoor patio area away from traffic noise where your kids can play while you eat or just inside the pub itself where the stag heads look down upon you. Good food and as everywhere in N.Z. expensive alcohol.

A.Lunch stop between Auckland and New Plymouth. And do stop! The pub is wonderfully finished on the inside with a logburner for cold days. The decor reminds me of a hunters lodge cross ski lodge. Lovely clean bathrooms. GREAT PIZZA! We had pulled venison with thyme and walnuts (yes the pizza) and there were heaps more interesting options. Excellent gluten free base which is difficult to find.

I.Had heard terrible reviews ... Service average some staff were lovely a couple were sour and unfriendly food was awesome wait time was minimal we would definately return for food but its not hard to be pleasant. Outdoor area was great for kids overall a good experience

Have been back several times now since the new owners and am stoked. This is exactly how the pub should be, good live music, good food, good service.

“Hangry review. Extremely average pub tbh. Menu is average and never changes. Some of the staff are lovely, some not so much. Kind of sick of coming here and being told the kitchen is closed while seeing other people getting their food. Only reason we come back is because it's a convenient stop for a beer on the way home. It could be great with minor improvements.”
