R.Everytime I've come here, I've always been happy with my kai.
* Pork Belly sliders - Lovely combination of flavors, love that you get some crackle on the slider.
* Arancini balls - too much for one person lol Tasted nice.
* Pork Belly - Crackle was a bit hard, like the jus sauce. Quite filling.
* Lamb rack - Strong minty flavors, crumb is hard to eat with meat (falls off easily), liked the couscous at the bottom. Probably not for someone who's starving.
* Beef Burger - Far too big to eat but I've seen people try hahaha
* Ribs - taste good, as expected.
* Kūmara chips - Love! Crunchy as, I don't like soggy Kūmara chips.
* Fresh Lemon & ginger - Yum but just too much honey at the bottom so I kept adding water. Would also love a bigger pot.
H.Worth the trip, complicates to the chef and staff of the night, to Gail who was our waitress for the evening her service complimented the food. Thanks guys

S.Stopped here for morning tea and it didn’t disappoint! The coffee was brilliant and nice and hot. The food was good as well. If you are in the neighbourhood I recommend stopping in here.

Staff are happy, having fun and giving great service. The caramel slice has got to be the thickest I’ve ever seen!

C.The lentil burger was yummy but the bun was fragile and the burger too big and messy to eat without a knife and fork. It would be good if there was a veggie takeaway burger that was smaller and that you could eat with just your hands.
T.Went here for a family get together. The meals were good, and everyone enjoyed what they had, it was however really noisy and couldn't enjoy conversation as the group there were oblivious to other patrons. Not the restaurant's fault but they needed reminding
R.We stopped for dinner on the way North. We asked three ladies at the Dental centre where was a good place for dinner. The reply "The Wood Farmer". The place is easy to find on the main road and clearly popular. I ordered the fettuccini and my wife had the fish and chips. The fettuccini was packed full of flavour and fish and chips were light and crisp. It was good to see the owner taking the time go around the tables. Great food and friendly, attentive and professional staff. We will certainly stop again.

R.Wow great atmosphere. Table for 10 tonight. Starters was delicious rosemary and garlic bread and mozzarella with bacon bread, and calaramri.We had scotch fillet, salmon, pork belly, chicken burger, and lamb meatballs and ribs. Each plate was cooked to perfection we all liked our steak cooked differently and the cook out did himself. Generous sized meals.price of each plate reflected the quality. Good selection of drinks on offer the raspberry dakery is highly recommended! Very clean establishment with friendly staff. Will absolutely be back. Unsure about all the micro herbs on every meal tho 😁

L.I always detour on my way south to go here (literally, would almost drive down from Auckland). BBQ chicken pizza is the best I’ve ever had.

So if you are group of people try to book a table . They got very large car parking with wheelchair friendly access. Great place of food with awesome service.

A.Always excellent food, wide variety of dishes including vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options, usually busy (always a good sign). I can't think of a better place to eat within 50ks.
G.One of the most homely, happy places I've ever been. Food was delicious for all, we all ordered different dishes and everyone was happy. Surf n turf was perfect - looked stunning too - and share plate had genuine home made pate and quirky and tasty elements.
But the service and atmosphere was the real winner. As soon as we walked in the door, the long tables of laughing families and the happy staff made it feel like we'd just walked in to a family feast!
A must if you're in the area, especially if you're travelling between Waitomo and Rotorua
D.Super impressed with their hospitality and service. My son is allergic to dairy, soy, nuts and egg. We asked if they were able to provide any food without these things and thankfully they did without any fuss what so ever. Being a difficult customer is such a burden but these guys delivered above and beyond. The service they gave was polite and prompt. The food was absolutely delicious, I recommend the chicken bao bun!! The atmosphere and music was awesome. We really enjoyed our time here, keep it up team and you will see us again for sure!

N.So happy we stopped here, what a great find on our trip from Napier to Auckland. Happily accommodated us and our twin babies when we arrived early on a Friday evening, even though they were fully booked. The food come out fast and was delicious - could not fault! The staff were lovely. We enjoyed it so much we stopped a second time two days later on our journey home.

G.We enjoyed a wonderful brunch early afternoon. The food was nice and fresh, a good size and very tasty. We asked for a bottle of champagne they didn't have on the wine menu but had a bottle in there fridge and sold it at a good price to us

c.Service was lovely. But the food (wedges and sour cream etc) not worth the nearly $18. No flavour. Could not define the sour cream nor the cheese. All just blended into bland. Asked for takeaway but would eat there till I had to go. I sat
outside. Was not given napkins, cutlery, and my number was not taken back, nor was the used cup there before me. The personal touch lacked. But. Will go again just to see if there is any improvements as I believe top quality is in there
somewhere.

S.Well if I'm honest the food i was served for my main was ok ( I had the ribs ) everybody else in the group of 8 had excellent food ,great service and friendly staff made the dining great . We will be back and hopefully the ribs will be much better next time
C.We had been here once before with a Christmas function and the food was actually really tasty. Today was our second time and we had lunch. We went for the $20 salad and boy oh boy... what a delightful meal it ended up to be. The first time in a very long time that i felt that it was more value than the money we paid. Very good portion size and the veggies were fresh, tasty and a very nice salad dressing to go with it. I highly recommend people to go here. They are not open all nights but i am sure that the food will be just as good when they are. 6 stars out of 5.
A.The wooden farmer never disappoints. The staff are always friendly always professional.And the food well I've been there many times and I've never had a bad meal yet. As a person who suffers from gluten intolerance they have many options on their menu. I would highly recommend this place.

S.Really good brunch, hard to fault. Little touches in the plates that separate places like this from the masses, clearly must have some talent and passion in the kitchen. Considered removing half a star for the waay-overripe avo that really should not have appeared in the wife’s blat but can appreciate the fickleness of this fruit.

R.I come through Putaruru occasionally and this is my first visit to this cafe. The cakes are very generous sizing and well priced. I could not go past the ham panini absolutely stuffed with ham off the bone the coffee is great too. Price $$

陳.Had a trip in NZ and drop by for our lunch. Ordered a pizza with a coke but they thought I’m going to have their pizza called “coop”. They served the coop and I clarified I didn’t ordered it. They just refund it to me and offered a free coke to me, what a wonderful service I got, I’m fortunate to have a drop by here.

B.What a gem! Unexpected in a small town. Had the fancy hambone Sammie, the ham was sooo tender. Lightly battered pineapple, nice chibatta roll, stone ground mustard. Delicious! Really nice place. Beer, wine and cider choices too.

A.My partner and I travel around the north island quite frequently and spend more time eating out then at home. we stopped in for lunch at this modern yet rustic Café Restaurant by the recommendation of one of the locals in Putaruru. The service was amazing and the food was apsolutly stunning. For once we could not fault anything put in front of us. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection and the taste was Devine! With a lively atmosphere and Kiwi feel to the place I would highly recommend this high quality Café/Restaurant to all whom travel through.
We actually can’t wait to return to try out their dinner menu in the near future.
High praise to all staff whom make this slice of heaven tick.
