R.I'm from New York City. As a true born and raised New Yorker, I can tell you that this pizza is the closest you'll find to the real thing in NZ, and by far the best in the country — I would know. Every time a person from NY eats a slice of pizza, we critique it. We can't help ourselves. It's a subject near and dear to our hearts. It's in our culture, in our blood, in our Italian heritage. That being said, we know when we're getting the real thing. We also know if something's been frozen, isn't fresh or just isn't right. Thankfully, Sal's does pizza well. The crust, the cheese, the sauce, all taste like home. And trust me, I would be the first to tell you if they didn't. I'd put it on par with any average, common NYC pizzeria. Try my favorite, the Manhattan, with pepperoni and mushrooms. My only criticism is that the garlic knots could use a little work. The consistency just isn't right, and they need more garlic. Sal's continues to deliver a quality, consistent product across all of its stores — I've visited the ones in Frankton, Queenstown, Pukekohe, and Mt. Wellington. I'll always stop at Sal's if I see one. It makes the experience of living so far from home just a bit more tolerable.

A.This place had very nice and tasty pizza. The service was good and informative and the delivery was fast. The idea of serving it in a rectangular box for half a big pizza is smart and very easy to carry. However due to the large portions, there is a problem when holding it as you would require two hands or the grease will drip off the side. It would be nice if they could cut pieces into sixteenths instead of eighths on request just for easier handling.

C.Wow!! What amazing NY style pizza. Absolutely loved it. You can tell they use authentic and quality ingredients as the texture and taste of the dough alone was amazing. We had a full pie, 50/50 combo Manhattan & Bronx. Cannot wait for more stores to open in Australia so I can get my NY pizza fix.

P.There were only a few options open late for dinner around Frankton. One of them was Sal’s so I went there. It was my first time at Sal’s. Even though they were closing in 10 minutes, they took my order & made me a fresh Pizza. Loved the quantity & the taste of Pizza. Would totally recommend as I went on eating at Sal’s in all the major cities of New Zealand after this.
M.Probably one of the best pizzas I have had outside New York. As a Sydneysider we have tried pretty much every joint that claims to be American but so far Sal's the closest we have come to an authentic experience. The cheese is stretchy, the base sauce just the perfect amount and the thin crust is rolled to perfection. Sal's open in Sydney please !!
M.Every time I eat at Sal’s I leave happier than when I arrived. It never disappoints and is easily the best slice/pie/pizza/garlic-knot/mozzarella sticks and wings place in Queenstown.

J.The pizza is good. 4-5 stars on pizza itself. It's not breaking any records but it's good. I think of it like a standard pie. It is the most expensive pizza I've ever bought. That's my fault, their price is clear and listed and I did it anyway. 38 dollars for a 2 topping pizza or walk into a slice for 6.50 so yea I expect a lot, it just did not deliver quality for price for me. Anyway use your judgement, if you want a pizza; this is good but it is JUST pizza, it is not made of gold. Maybe THINK and go out for a nice steak or lamb or something for.whay they charge. I won't be back.
N.Best pizza in Queenstown by far, their crust is what sets their pizza apart compared to other places in town. I have tried the brooklyn and classic pepperoni, both were excellent with a generous amount of toppings. I have lived in Queenstown for almost a year now and one thing i could not find were authentic buffalo style wings, until i finally tried sals. Their buffalo wings are the best in town along with their blue cheese dipping sauce. Well worth the price!!
N.New York style Pizza is my favourite food. I was hesitant to come to New Zealand in fear that I would lose this necessity, yet in my doubt and darkness I found Sal’s. There was hope for me. When I first ate Sal’s I was blown away, I found a piece of myself that I never knew existed. Since then I’ve introduced Sal’s to many of my American friends, and their pizza continues to inspire me.
N.Best pepperoni pizza i have had in New Zealand, a spectacular cheese to pepperoni ratio. The store in Frankton has a great vibe and is helped by the staff with smiles on there faces. I do wish they had Brooklyn brewery lager but I did reach for the budwise.

C.Got the buffalo wings today. They were good with the ranch dipping. What made this better was the celery sticks to take away from the heat (I’m a sook with spicy foods). I also appreciated the complimentary wet wipes to clean up afterwards.
