Both the service and staff were good, food was nice too but the burger was a little too greasy, everything came out in good time. A little high on the price end but portions were quite big.

Great atmosphere. Plenty of space inside and out. Loved the crumbed cauliflower. Will definitely have it again. There are different deals on different nights.

The Ballarat Trading Co. is a nicely decorated pub. The design is pleasant, and the way the various areas are separated from each other reduces the background noise level so it's easy to converse with the other people in your party. The service was efficient. We were served promptly even though we had thirty people in our group. I had the grilled chicken breast. It was tough, dry and disappointing. However, the vegetables and potatoes that came with it were delicious. My wife had pumpkin and spinach cannelloni. She let me taste it. It was excellent. I was told by the people who had the fish and chips, the steak and the ribs that they were very good. My desert was called Chocolate Oblivion. It was light and airy, and very tasty. My wife had the Mixed Otago Berry Sorbet. She loved it. I recommend this place.

The spicy tomato lentil soup was delicious and the desert was very good. The fish and chips didn't stand out much as it was about the same you can get anywhere else. The steak was pretty good also.

Yum. The burgers here were REALLY good. Would definitely recommend to anybody visiting Queenstown that enjoys burgers to try this place out one night. You can also swap out any meat burger for a vegetarian option, so nobody misses out! To top it off, they also serve alcohol. What more could you ask for?!

Stopped by for breakfast. It was one of the few places that could accommodate our group since it was quite large. There were a few options to choose from. Went with the big breakfast and it was alright. Would've like the bacon to be crispier but I didn't ask. We had about an hour and a half to eat and get to the airport and we had plenty of time. The place also had quite an interesting decor, including a bear.

Drinks were great with wide selection. Food was excellent bone rib eye on the specials was perfect and the house made bangers had perfect texture and flavor. Service was attentive and friendly. Management must be on point here!

Came back September 2020 to find it is now a burger restaurant. Really missed the old menu but decided to give it a try. Was really disappointed in the food and the place was so dark I had to read the menu by the light of my phone torch. Staff still lovely but def need some proper lighting

Nice restaurant and bar in the centre of Queenstown New Zealand that serves very nice food all at reasonable prices. They do have TV sets on the various walls playing sports and at times the bar area can be rather noisy. However, the quality of the food makes up for the slight inconvenience of the background noise. The lamb bangers and mash are superb along with the caramelised onions and gravy. The waitress was friendly and attentive.

Ingredients were all local and fresh. Recommend the mussels, pumpkin soup, salad, grass fed beef sirloin & pork ribs. They also have a good selection of draft beers and wines. We were a big group and service was excellent!

THERE IS A BUT... Bar is great, lively and very lovely staff. BUT, doorkeeper doesn't know how to smile and bit rude. I always suspend my judgment, cause everyone got a story to tell but I've been there 2 consecutive days and same attitude that he displayed. Not really good in hospitality business.

The Ballarat is a fantastic eatery! I had lunch here with a friend, upon entry we were immediately seated and handed menus. The service is fantastic, it does not take a long time for them to process your order and they really ensure the continuity of care, constantly filling up our water and ensuring we were well catered for. I had the fish and chips, which was reasonably priced and tasted delicious. Overall I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant.

Amazing venue we were put in a private area decor of room and set up was sufficiently done that we could all talk openly and not impact on those around us. Food was presented well and tasted amazing. Drink selection was comprehensive. Prices were not known as the company had an open tab and we were there for a few hours. Staff were accommodating and did a brilliant job.

Good food, great value for money. Lovely atmosphere and very nice to just walk around and have a look!

4+ actually. Service friendly, prompt and accommodating. Enjoyed the taretare sauce so much I got a second portion. My friend had the most wonderful dessert- beautifully presented and delicious. Coffee was also excellent. Atmosphere great... reminiscent of a dutch bruin cafe. One thing could be improved.... bigger vege portion and less potato. Will remember it as a hughlight.

Better than your normal pub food. We watched the rugby in TV over dinner in the small dining room, which was cosy but was open to the rest of the bar. Great apart from the boisterous Kiwis going on about the All Blacks :-)

The Ballarat Trading Co is an awesome gastronomic pub In Queenstown that is just awesome! A great vibe with excellent staff who are chilled, professional and fun. We had the platter to share and a great Central Otago Pinot! After dinner, the bar had lived music and we totally chilled listening to some great tunes in a great vibe! Loved this place!

I was surprised after reading all these good reviews that the food and atmosphere were both really average. I wouldn't call it a 'gastropub', it's just a normal (and quite expensive) pub. All up it came to $125 for 3 people for lunch with one drink each.

We absolutely loved this restaurant ! The food was amazing, service was perfect, and the decoration is so original ! We had Poutine Fries and Mussells as starters, seafood linguini and eye fillet as mains, and shared a crumble for dessert ! Everything was SO good, we had such a great time. We would def go back without hesitation !

This is a 10 star literally.... Every course was amazing, service was so much better than anywhere else we have been. Foods were beautiful and tasted like nothing i have ever tasted before. Lamb was incredible! Ribeye was perfect! Calamari cooked just right! USA has destroyed fine eating.... im so glad to experience real food and what it should really taste like. Dessert was heavenly, dark choc brownie,with maple ice cream and raspberry drizzle. Guess i never had these foods til now. Cant imagine what usa put in their food, maybe crushed cardboard? Thanks Ballarat for openings my eyes and giving me the true experience of good food. The best of all about your meal was ,i never got ill afterwards like usa. I walked around, my pants wernt tight, no bloat!!! I dont want to go back to usa...

My partner and I had steaks for lunch. They were a bit over cooked and a bit pricey for the quality of the meal, however, I suppose that is Queenstown prices!
