Amazing food the pork belly entree, the beef fillet main, the wine list, the fabby oysters all so fantastic!!! The staff are well informed and awesome too,, enough can't be said! The best present ever from my friend who knew I would be there and organized with the manager! Thanks a brilliant night!!

We had a FANTASTIC TIME at BUNKER! Although we got an email the next day that it was on first table... sadly. We were still overwhelmed with the level of service, presentation, and DELICIOUSNESS! I had a lot of questions to ask considering it was the Trust the Chef Menu which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Usually you go towards your usually foods. This experience, I was able to try paua! ostrich! salmon tartare! tuna! and so many other delicacies I could not even imagine go together to compliment each other. My partner and I enjoyed everything off the menu. Getting meat options for one, and fish options on the other hand. We are very excited to head back and thankful for the server on that evening to be able to explain every little detail of the dish. That was perfection. Really appreciated! APRICOT SORBET FOR THE WIN!
C.
Service was super, food was good not great. We had the 8 course taste of the South degustation. Highlights were the paua tortellini, the pink snapper and the lamb.
C.
First time last night and blew us away. Exceptional service by the staff, very friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding with the wine pairing and food tried for the first time. Exceptional experience overall. Thanks so much and see you next time.

Had a fantastic meal here for my birthday. The food was excellent, the staff were very knowledgeable and recommended some great wines , you certainly got what you paid for , would not hesitate to come back
K.
A beautiful 8 course menu with wine matched perfectly. Knowledgeable and friendly team working. Paua tortellini and the hare were stand outs for us however all flavours and textures were impeccable. The chefs are experts in their field and provide a fantastic experience with every dish.
Thanks so much for a beautiful evening in your beautiful restaurant.

Came here for my 50th birthday and had a lovely meal. The service was good and the ambience was perfect for this special evening.
I will say however that this place is a little stuck in its ways and some dishes felt a little overly complicated for no reason other than to look pretty. Good example is the Hare entree- way too many different sauces and it overpowered the meat itself that it could have been any protein on the plate. Overall though we enjoyed our food and the lamb and duck were very good.
We were too full to do full desserts and shared the petit fours and found these to be a bit disappointing.
We have been here twice now and I am not sure we will return for a while. It is a wee bit too stuck in time for us but I am sure others may like it for this reason.
A.
We had their degustation and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The choices were really interesting and things we haven't really come across e.g. ostrich.
I think it was really good value for the price overall.
My only complaint is that I wasn't a fan of the yellow-fin tuna entree. When compared to the hare entree it was not up to scratch, felt like they were served from two different restaurants.
G.
The restaurant is great, the 8 course menu we had was amazing, and the service was outstanding! Very happy to have found this place. I would recommend to take the wine pairing with the menu, this was great!
M.
Have nothing negative to say about this place. I came from USA and wanted a nice dinner with my wife as we only budget for one "nice" dinner on a long trip like we were on. Based on the research and input, this is where we chose and didn't leave wishing we went somewhere else.
Staff was friendly, gave tips on other places/bars to check out, and attractions to see.
Food was fantastic and wasn't cliche.
C.
Been to some of the best restaurants in auckland and came here for partners birthday, can say it's sadly my new favorite restaurant. 2/3 scallops were perfect but one was slightly chewy. Venison and beef mains were both perfectly cooked and the sides of broccoli were tasty and tender. Creme Brule was perfect and creamy.
H.
A truly magical experience! The dishes are creative, exciting and delicious! On top of that, the entire team are friendly and super knowledgeable. Whether a romantic night out, special occasion or a a catch up with friends/family, you will be stoked you decided to have The Bunker experience :)
M.
I came in here with my partner and tried the degustation menu. I wanted to go all out and this place definitely put a massive smile on both our faces. Our first time of having the pleasure of dining in here and what an amazing experience that was! Our waiters were just absolutely perfect 👌, everything we got served was...I just have no other words for it..FANTASTIC. we really really enjoyed dining here. I got so hammered on the different pairings of wine that paired with each dish as well 🤦♂️. I have nothing bad to comment about this place AT ALL. location is really neat and tucked away (which I loved about it) just had the best time there. Definitely worth its price and the best place by far in Queenstown to have a romantic dinner at. Could I make a suggestion, just a wee less on the wine I think as I was not able to finish the dessert nor the cheese 😊 but overall, we both had a lovely time there and we will be definitely coming back to this place. Staff again are absolutely welcoming and very very fast on service and they made us feel like we were comfortable and at home. Very very happy customers here and very fortunate to have had the pleasure of dining in with you @The Bunker. A massive thumbs up to you guys! Thank you thank you thank you 🙏☺️☺️
H.
The eight course menu was phenomenal, with the stand out being the Ostrich! Absolutely delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was right after a few slip ups with dietaries.
S.
The better restaurants in this part of NZ offer a similar selection of main courses (venison, beef, lamb, fish etc) and they all do it well.
But for the prices charged here ($42-$49 for mains) they really need to offer something special, and we didn't find that.
Our whitebait and scallops entrees were underwhelming, while the 2 fish main courses (snapper, and fish of the day) were fine.
The setting doesn't help - it sounds romantic, a bunker with a wood fire, but if that's your main aim make sure you specify this, as half the diners are actually accommodated in a separate room 2 floors up, and it's hard to catch the attention of the servers who are pounding up and down the stairs.
There's a strange attempt at atmosphere with movie posters decorating the walls, and a bizarre playlist which at one point had Carly Simon's "Nobody Does It Better" playing 4 times in half an hour.
Good food, warm service, but for these prices, there needs to be more.
W.
Had a wonderful Virgin Mohito as I was sober driver for my fellow drinkers! The cocktails looked amazing, will be back to try them.
A.
We came here after reading some previously complimentary reviews from diners. Overall it was a pleasant experience but it could have been better. We chose the $90 Taste of the South menu and tried everything on it as there were 2 of us. This review just reflects that menu - choosing A la carte may have resulted in different views.
Pros:
* Excellent waiting staff, knowledgable about the meals and provided good advice
* Some really delicious and inventive elements in dishes such as compressed cucumber, black olive emulsion, coconut caviar, perfectly cooked hare, subtle yet unique flavours and beautifully presented. The creme brulee was perfect.
* Good ambience in the restaurant, intimate setting with a cosy fireplace but the temperature was still a bit cool around the edges where we were sitting
Cons:
* For the main course, there were sinewy portions of lamb served which made for a very chewy experience. This was disappointing as there was only a few small portions of lamb on the plate in the first place
* The pan seared snapper still had several bones in it
* Too many waiting staff tended to our table, we had 3 different ones over the course of the night which made for quite a disjointed experience
* We had a late dinner booking at 8.30pm but felt the courses came out a bit too quickly with very little break in between. Very attentive service when it came to clearing plates but would have been good to have a little bit more time in between the dishes to relax
G.
We had the 8 course degustation menu. Every course was awesome and Chase, our server, explained all the details of the meal and the wine options with each course. We loved the attention to detail and the food and wine was awesome.
r.
Great food! Great service! Awesome experience! A must visit in Queenstown!
b.
Great food, great atmosphere and truly fantastic staff.
My only tiny gripe was the lamb was a little fatty, but otherwise the absolute best in fine dining in Queenstown!
S.
It's a bit pricey but dishes were really good! We ordered Pork belly ($39) and Snapper ($38). Friendly staff but extremely formal. It's a small room and decoration looks a bit tired but it's still very cosy. It's a great atmosphere and service for a romantic dinner.

Couldn’t fault it. Had an incredible experience at the bunker. It starts by finding your way down a side ally looking for a rusty door with the words “The Bunker” fused to it in cast iron. You open the door to a very dimly lit room with a beautiful bar on our right, 5-7 table settings on your left and directly next to you a wood log fire crackling away. The walls have old style Art Deco lamps backed by a maroon finish with old pictures of Queenstown to pursue while you eat and the tables are fired out with candle lamps. We where greeted by a French waitress who took us to our seats and started us with some drinks, leaving us with the usual menus. What I liked about these menues however was their starter, main and dessert choices where all broken down via protein rather then dish. A dish for each protein, it made it a bit of a different ordering experience and also felt pretty fancy. For started we ordered the scallops, duck and boar. My wife and I both loved the boar the most however no dish was left wanting, all where delicious and came immaculately presented. For mains I had the veal and my wife the fish of the day which was Salmon. Again both where amazing! The winner for me being the veal which was cooked incredibly perfectly with a sauce I really wanted the recipe for! For desert we shared the pavlova, a beautiful way to finish it off. Was a night we won’t soon forget.

My wife and I had a fantastic time in your resturant. We arrived and found the quaint atmosphere and the wood burning fireplace to be very inviting. Your knowledge of the wines, regions they are from, and the best food pairings was impressive to say the least. The dishes were delicious from start to finish and your ability to modify dishes to suit different food allergies really showed the skills of your chief. The service was amazing and we felt like family. We really appreciate getting to spend a night in your restaurant and we can not wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
E.
It was absolutely an amazing dining experience. The food is just simply magnificent. Flavour combination is just phenomenal! Great service, great environment and great atmosphere. Wee bit expensive, however, I personally think it’s worth every penny.
G.
A great place where you can spend a dinner in Queenstown New Zeland. The restaurant has been create inside an old ski deposit of course completly refurbished. Dinner is fantastic. In particular the quail is delicious probably one of the best I had around the world and trust me I am Italian and we know how to cook a quail. Everything was simply perfect. If I will be never back in NZ I will organise my trip to get back there! I am sorry I can not post photos with cooking! sigh!
D.
This place offers some of the best meals I've ever eaten. Everything you try is well presented, balanced, and portioned correctly. The meat quality is remarkable even for NZ, where I yet to have a bad meal. All ingredients are creatively incorporated and so perfectly done you can't help but go through dinner with a smile on your face.
We considered going to a more trendy and high end place, but recalled a good experience from our previous dinner at the Bunker. We tried it again to see if the food could live up to our memory, and they surpassed it.
L.
Highly recommend. Great for a romantic cosy dinner with your partner or with a small intimate group. We had the tasting menu with the matching wines. Could not fault the food, wine or service.
J.
This is the definition of fine dining in a touristy town. Nice cozy ambience that feels tucked away. Rustic interior with excellent service. Excellent cocktails and food. Got the pork dinner with the belly and sausage and croquette. Super tasty. Highly recommended.
G.
Looking for fine dining? This is an excellent restaurant with a casual air about it and excellent staff. Note there is "The bunker" cocktail bar and below the street is the restaurant.
J.
Meh!! The hype of the website outlined a secluded hip joint at the back of a dark alleyway with amazing delights- But, in reality a very small outdated restaurant with average- overpriced food. The cocktails are also average. It can’t compete with other wonderful food in NZ.
C.
I dare you to find a better cocktail in Queenstown. Just wander in, sit down with the fires and funky beats, give the guys a couple flavours you like and they'll make sure you're happy.
We've been in every day since arriving in town and it is just the best.
H.
Just had the single night out in Queenstown this time and ended up at the Bunker.
There was an interesting mismatch of patrons both local and from afar but overall it was a great night out.
There were good cocktails and they had great music so it was really enjoyable winding out a good night
C.
My Partner and I came in on Sunday for dinner, we're on holiday and wanted to treat ourselves; did not dissapoint! We had the taste of the south menu with the wine pairings... Gotta say, I've never spent that much on a meal for two people, but I've also never felt like I got so much value for money as I did here. Amazing food, super romantic atmosphere, great staff, great wine. We had a great time, a highlight of our time in Queenstown. Definitely check this place out, loved it👌
J.
Awesome food, excellent service, wait staff really knew there stuff
A.
If you’re looking for the definition of a fine dining experience them this is the place to go. Intimate, cozy, fantastic middle of the road music Jazz, swing. Food was fantastic and since we couldn’t decide on which deserts we wanted exactly we decided to get three between us and each one of those was equally amazing.
l.
Delicious food and catered to vegan friend really well
A.
Very good, but not perfect. Took my wife here for her birthday, and the food (and wine pairings) were very good. Service extremely good, as expected. Interesting playlist! A couple of minor gripes at this price range, though. While the dishes showed imagination and technical excellence, I felt the balance wasn't always spot on - the boar starter could have done with a little more tartness to offset the richness. I also felt the "tasty" cheddar was a bit average - I was expecting some real bite, there. Honestly, really close to being spot on, but when dropping a couple of hundred bucks a head, I expect a little bit closer to perfection.
T.
Took my partner here for her birthday and it was a 10/10 experience. We’ve been to a lot of restaurants in Auckland but Bunker was on its own level.
We had the scallops, hare, beef, and venison, all of which were perfect. We finished with the pavlova and creme brûlée.
Service was great and very friendly. Would absolutely come back again.
Worth every penny.
I.
Good experience in Queenstown.
I had lamb (was a bit rough) and duck pate (was perfect).
Service was perfect.
Cosy and unusual atmosphere
One of the best restaurant in the town!
S.
After 7 days eating and drinking in Queenstown we finily found an 5 star restaurant. We already lost a faith that we will find equally good restaurant as we have in Melbourne.. But The Bunker restaurant prove itself as it has a clever, very imaginative chef ( food design & display is smashing ). Now about food. Not a lot chef's like to prepare game food. But Hare,Wild bore and Venison were cooked perfectly (follow chef instruction please). Side dishes and souces Ahhh I would like to get my hands on recipe.
Me and my wife were very happy with your waiters manners and Coctail bloke.
S.
I’m not sure how to explain the 4 out of 5.
It’s a very “gentleman’s club” sort of feel, it’s a small space- so it’s not actually intimate, unless you already know the other diners.
The fire is o so hot, the staff very definitely try their absolute utmost to provide “fine dining” service.
The food is fine.
It is pricey.
I guess, if you’re placing yourself in the “fine dining” space I guess I expect just that little bit of “x”- and don’t think we quite found it.
S.
Probably the one of the best fine dining places food wise. If only the service would match the quality of the food! I see that this comment has been made by others so this must happen quite regularly. Because we were not of a certain age or demographic, we were made to feel somewhat unwelcome - the waiter was sarcastic and mocking without being provoke. Should definitely look into reviewing some of your wait staff's attitude - I do not say this lightly as I used to work in customer service and I understand the challenges of the job.
L.
Visited twice now, and every time the wait staff have been nothing but the pinnacle of professional and helpful. For the face of their business, definitely something other places should strive for.
Food is always amazing - both times we've had the Taste of the South degustation, and have never been disappointed with the selection provided or the quality of the food.
A little pricey, but well worth it for the unparalleled experience and food.
T.
Food is fine dining, Honestly best dinner I've ever had. Starter scallop and paua, absolutely unbelievable. Main was lamb rack with jus was out of this world. Service was 10/10.
S.
The best restaurant I have ever been to. The waitstaff were very attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the menu and food. The mains were great and the meat was cooked perfectly. The dessert was also very nice. Would recommend for a special night!
J.
Wow, wow, wow! This restaurant was fantastic! I booked it for my partner as we were on holidays and it was his birthday and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible. I had the salmon which I was initially hesitant about because of the accompaniments but I am so glad my partner and the waiter encouraged me to get it as it was the best Salmon dish I have had. My partner was equally impressed with his main too and the entrees were superb as well. This was very reasonably priced and the service was fantastic (we didnt get his name unfortunately). The fire place upstairs really added to the atmosphere. If you are looking for a restaurant with excellent service, food, atmosphere and value for money then this is it! We went to another fine dining establishment whilst on holidays in Queenstown which did not even compare. This is by far the best option and a must do!
j.
Loved it here! The staff were very friendly and helpful without being over the top. The food and drinks were outstanding and very filling. Thank you for the service, it was a great way to spend our first wedding anniversary
T.
One of the coolest and coziest places I've ever dined at! Fantastically friendly customer service!! And the yummiest eye fillet with mashed potatoes and red wine sauce on earth!!! :)
J.
We enjoyed the "Tastes of the South" degustation paired with wines for our final night of our honeymoon in NZ. It did not disappoint! Excellent service was had and the helpful choice between seafood and non-seafood options was great. The wines were well matched with the servings and we left feeling like our mouths were taken on an incredible gastronomic journey that left our stomachs full and our hearts glad.
C.
Absolutely exquisite. Service was special. The lamb is the best I have had in New Zealand. 4 of us had a beautiful meal together. This is special dining and worth the effort to escape the normal offering from nice Queenstown restaurants
M.
Absoultely fantastic experience here all round. We had the tasting menu which was worth every penny. Waiters were superb, food was phenomenal, in particular the hare. Would definitely go again!
F.
Highly recommend the Bunker Restaurant, worked in fine dining most of my life and have eaten all around the world, wow, amazing next level delicious food and presentation, great service and ambience outstanding. Will definitely come back here again on our next trip to Queenstown. You guys rock!!xx👍❤❤
G.
Unusual combination of rustic fireside with fine dining. Don't sit too close to the fire or you'll melt! Some lovely flavour combinations in a traditional menu. Service friendly but a little slow at times.
r.
Right up there.group of 12 received a private room with own concierge who quickly summed up how best to deal with what was required. Excellent service meals and wines.not inexpensive but a treat.no views you are in a very private upstairs bunker
S.
This place delivered a fantastic meal and experience. It is rare to have a faultless meal and matching wines even at places that claim fine dining, The Bunker meal was perfect. This place certainly is up there with my favourite restaurants in Sydney and offered comparatively great value. It was also much better than some of the more well known names in Queenstown, which while okay are a bit over hyped.
H.
Very impress! Easy menu that we tried all the food , steak is so delicious 😋 probably best in town. Porky is so juicy and crispy. Salmon of the day also perfect. Must try in Queenstown. Romantic ambiance and classical music make us really enjoy our dinner !
L.
We had dinner there last Friday night shortly after hopping off an international flight. It’s a very romantic and cozy setting. The food was amazing and the matching wines were chosen well.
The staff were very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Would return in a heartbeat
G.
Best dining experience we had in New Zealand. Seriously, if you find yourself in Queenstown on holiday, be sure to stop in here.
Our server, Jeff, was a consummate professional, providing thorough advice and explanations and keeping an attentive but not intrusive presence throughout our meal, all while maintaining a charming and courteous air of hospitality. Furthermore, Jeff went out of his way to make unsweetened black iced tea, special just for me (something for which I have hungered throughout our trip, but have not been able to find in any restaurant or cafe other than a Starbucks). It was a small gesture that went a long way to making me feel at home.
And the food! Oh, the food was exquisite. We started with the scallops which came on an amazing canvas of cauliflower three ways. The missus had the snapper with stuffed mussels, which was the best seafood she's had in a long time. And I had the beef two ways main course, which contained perhaps the best steak I've ever tasted -- simple and not overly seasoned, which allowed the amazing flavors of the local New Zealand beef to really shine. If you save up for just one steak dinner in New Zealand, make it here. Last but not least, the dessert was fantastic, with a deconstructed pavlova that put the perfect finishing touch on our fantastic dining experience.
We've had great dining experiences all throughout our trip in New Zealand, from cafes to dinner houses. But the Bunker was my personal favorite. I'd give it six stars if I could!
S.
Great cozy intimate dining experience! Waiter knew the menu well and didn't disappoint with wine pairing. Can't wait to come back and try the degustation!!
S.
Great service, excellent people watching, innocuous door you walk through to get there - who could ask for more 😅
A.
By far the best fine dining (very reasonably priced) restaurant in Queenstown. The ambience and service is fantastic and the food and drink exceptional. The Bunker rivals many internationally accredited restaurants and after many visits it has always exceeded expectations. If you want to impress friends and family or have a sensational dining experience do not hesitate to dine there.
G.
Nice ambient, good food and friendly service. Not many tables so was quite and fast service.
Very nice wine selections.
J.
Absolutely wonderful 6 course meal with wine matching. Waiter was truly awesome. Thanks so much for great evening with fantastic food and wine. (And glasses)
U.
If you have been to Queenstown NZ and have not dined here, you missed out. Get back on a plane and have a taste menu.
Seriously, we leave in Seattle and the food is AWESOME, on top of that, I'm Italian and a born food snob. If is not amazing, is bad in my book.
This restaurant is a little place in an ally, the interior is charming, the service is very attentive, but the food, well the food is just superb. I'm just in awe about the feast of flavor of food and wine. Really enjoyed it!!!
A.
Oh wow!
What a find down an alleyway.
Small intimate restaurant with a lovely open fire.
Didn't go upstairs to the cocktail lounge.
Staff were wonderful explaining the menu and wine.
Very friendly, great atmosphere and the food is to die for.
Would highly recommend and would come back again.
Thanks guys for a wonderful experience
V.
Never fails to impress and create great memories. Every time we come to Queenstown we manage to get the couch in front of the fire upstairs and work our way through the cocktail menu. Staff are always incredibly accommodating- we’ve had kids with us a few time for a late afternoon start and the staff will make up mocktails -it’s still a lovely cosy atmosphere. Great music, very intimate... just love this place. Thank you for delivering yet again.
T.
Had dinner here Saturday night and the service was absolutely amazing along with the food and cocktails. Fine dining at its best. Venison was spectacular!
G.
Best cocktails and great service! We asked the bartender to make us a shot describing flavors we liked and he created the best shot I've ever tasted. Great atmosphere
B.
One of the best bars in queenstown with Indoor and outdoor fireplace, grab a mulled wine and sit by the warm fire!
I.
This was such an amazing find in Queenstown. Such a wonderful little space with amazing food and an amazing wine list. We only had 6 nights in Queenstown and came back to this restaurant twice! Can't speak highly enough of the place!
K.
We had a great dinner. Good food good dessert and exceptionally good service. The gentleman who served us was smiley, joyful and most helpful. The price was reasonable too. We had a great night!
A.
We went here not knowing what to expect, and our expectations were exceeded to say the least. This restaurant has the best food New Zealand has to offer. We started with the duck parfait, and it was the best dish we have ever had. Then, we ordered the duck main, and the lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection. We finished with a fantastic pina cotta dessert. We had an old fashion cocktail, as well as the pink diamond. The cocktails are just as amazing. I can not recommend this place enough! It’s perfect for a date night. Also, the service was expectional. Thanks for a great night!
M.
The best degustation experience in the country to date. Service was simply impeccable and only surpassed in quality by the food. A restaurant not to be missed and very reasonably priced for the overall experience.
M.
It has been more than 2 years since i visited Queenstown. I can still remember the taste of the steak at The Bunker.
It was the first time in my visits to fancy restaurants where the chef recommended the steak to be rare instead of medium rare. I was surprised at how confident the chef was and followed his recommendation.
I have to say, the steak was indeed the best steak i had ever had!
T.
Warning: the markups on wine are crazy!
That’s why the 4, and not 5 star.
The food was delicious, with a wide variety of different meats to try. We particularly enjoyed the meats that are hard to find elsewhere.
The space was dark and alluring. Great for couples, or close friends (definitely not a work venue. But this is QT, who the hell is here for work)
T.
We made a reservation at The Bunker prior to travelling to Queenstown. We arrived at the Bunker to be taken upstairs to the second dining room, from the moment we arreived the service was impeccable. The menu was explained to us and we went with the Taste of The South menu which was amazing. The food was fresh and cooked beautifully. We had a great experience from the moment we walked in up until the time our cab arrived. We will definitely return on our next visit to Queenstown.
S.
Great dishes, highly recommend the lamb for mains and scallops for entree. A bit expensive for what you get, but probably the best and most priceworthy place in Queenstown. Friendly attentive staff. Great wine menu. Paid around 100 nzd for entree main and 2 glasses of wine.
K.
I wish I could rate more stars! This by far was the best overall dining experience while abroad in New Zealand. Every course was DELICIOUS! Awesome service and cozy settings.
S.
We came here for Easter dinner to conclude our first day in New Zealand. We had the tasting menu with meat option which was delicious. Four courses of perfectly cooked meats accompanied with delicious sauces and sides, followed by dessert and a cheese course. There was an option to pair wines with each course but we didn't go for it. This menu was $120 each (or $180 with wine) . The waitress who served us was very courteous and knowledgeable about the dishes. Unfortunately we were occasionally served by another waiter who didn't explain the dishes to us.
There is also a la carte option with one vegetarian main.
N.
Amazing. The chef made us our own vegan meals which were amazing. The waiter Jerome was super friendly, the atmosphere was great, really cool place.
S.
Food is superb. If you want to treat yourself this is the place to do it. Great service. Extensive wine list but not a lot of choice if you buy by the glass instead of by the bottle. Highly recommended
T.
Exceptional service. Beautiful food and a lovely, warm atmosphere. The staff are fantastic and we can see why this is Queenstowns #1 fine dining restaurant. Cheers for the lovely anniversary experience. Tony and Karen Fabris.
J.
My partner and I had the degustation menu. The food was to die for. Our waiter was extremely friendly and polite. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Queenstown!
T.
Absolutely amazing dining experience. I had the Peking duck dumplings to begin which I would say was the highlight of the entire meal. Then the Spinach, almond and ricotta gnocchi for main which was also delicious. To finish the Petit Fours which was a lovely sample of their dessert menu. The atmosphere was really cosy and relaxed which I enjoyed. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Queenstown as it really is a must do.
J.
Food was amazing! The ambience and service were also fantastic. We had a wonderful evening and would easily recommend this restaurant to others. Thanks for a great night!
J.
The food is spectacular, i won't bore you with the details as you won't go wrong with the menu. Likewise, the wine list was hand picked. The purpose of this review however, is to comment on the qaulity of the service in resturant and their upstairs cocktail lounge. Wonderful people!
D.
Food here is great dining and then head upstairs for a drink
D.
Great meal, and I am a big fan of the game meats. Had the boar and deer. Service was top notch, and just a great evening out. You will not be disappointed by a dinner here.
S.
Brilliant service, awesome food
J.
Third visit in as many years, and the quality and experience have been outstanding every time. The highest quality New Zealand style cuisine with incredible service. We will be back!
F.
We were super excited to score a last minute reservation here. The tasting menu was fabulous, service was excellent. Wine pairing was very good - definitely do it.
J.
Utterly incredible, great food and a flawless selection of drinks.
W.
Absolutely amazing experience coming here, had our small group after getting married and this place exceeded expectations!! Big thanks to shano who did an amazing job catering the table and explaining all the dishes, very professional :)
T.
Walked in here on St Pattys day around 9pm — however nothing St Patty’s related going on except for Lewis’ green suspenders. My wife and I decided to stay and order a cocktail, and Lewis made us some fantastic drinks. Him and Jamie were quite the characters and their banter was hilarious and we decided to stay for more drinks. Jamie made us some bartender choice cocktails which were also really delicious (some new drinks called The Margarette and Sir Taylor). He included a citrus fire show at no extra charge. You can tell that Lewis and Jamie both care about the craft of making drinks and helped us have a great final night in New Zealand! Cheers fellas
S.
Excellent food and service here at the cozy Bunker. An open fire completes the experience on a cold night. There's a cocktail bar upstairs as well with outdoor had fires if you want something different. Can highly recommend.
A.
My wife and I had an amazing meal there. Very dim light and intimate. The wine was great as well as the service, we were very well taken care of.
S.
Bravo. Kudos. Excellento.
A perfect Hidden GEM. Please do yourselves a favor & GO and eat at this place. The service & food is amazing. We went for the 5 x Course Degustation Menu & each course was full of flavors & beautifully presented.
Everyone in town will talk about Rata, Botwana Butchery but not this establishment. I must say this is the hands down experience you can have in Queestown apart from other two named above.

One of those great places hid down a side street. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Inside is an intimate small setting with great food. Pleasant staff serving beautifully prepared food. Should make a reservation.
C.
Stopped in the bar before meal enjoyed the live entertainment. We had a large group but the restaurant was able to accommodate us with a late sitting. Food and service was excellent.
P.
A fantastic Jem in Queenstown the food fantastic the staff outstanding . We were in Queenstown for for only 4 days.We dined there twice. Firstly with the degustation and then a la care. The presentation was superb the flavours amazing. Well done !!!

This small little gem hidden away, is a fantastic find! The food is a flavoursome and a delight on your tastebuds. The small little room offers a warm and cosy atmosphere with a cocktail in hand (the pink diamond a must try) you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable evening. This is the perfect place to warm up on a cold Queenstown night.
M.
Venison was to perfection. For the rest of my life, I will rate others against the venison cuts i just had. Thank you Bunker!
G.
Best spot in town! Award winning food in a perfect rustic setting, check out the martini's too!
b.
Wonderful staff do a amazing job dealing with busy Queenstown night life, the bar manager does a outstanding job making sure everyone has a wonderful time. Love this place and can honestly say never had a better old fashioned whiskey than I've had here
N.
Good food and nice ambient.
S.
This place is hidden in one the narrow laneways. Try and have a drink in the bar first which is kept warm and cozy with the fire place. Dinner in the restaurant is very tasty and the service is faultless. Wine list is also good.
C.
Great atmosphere & busy, even for a Tuesday night & not in ski season. Still has amazing food, wine, service & staff.
Thanks again ❤️
** First visited 2007.

One of the best restaurants in the COUNTRY. Definitely the best value for money also. If you're in Queenstown I would highly recommend this restaurant
M.
Intimate and cosy cocktail bar with classy atmosphere, professional and attentive staff, extensive cocktail and wine selection. Highly recommend for those seeking to cruise through the night in style.
J.
The degustation was INCREDIBLE. Best dinner we have ever had and a beautiful representation of New Zealand flavours. The service was exceptional and the setting was romantic and cosy. Thank you!
A.
Great tasting menu. The waiter Shane was very knowledgeable about the wines and food and friendly. The Risotto of the day was one of the best I've had!
N.
I was about ready to declare Queenstown, New Zealand a miss when it comes to culinary experience...but I decided to suspend my judgement until I dined at the Bunker Restaurant.
Highly recommended by a friend, I had equally lofty expectations of the place. The Bunker didn't disappoint. In fact, the Bunker exceeded my expectations!
Despite it's nondescript location (it's in the back alley with no flashy signs to guide you) everything about the Bunker is exceptional.
The food is seriously out of this world! The balance of unexpected flavours that just work combined with superb presentation made the whole experience truly unforgettable.
For starters, I had the house made lemon gnocchi with roasted Fiordland crayfish, pan seared prawn tails, baby spinach, marinated fennel and crayfish beurre blanc and I can tell you now, I was lost for words. The crispiness of the crayfish combined with the tangy gnocchi and fennel made the dish pretty exceptional.
For the main course, I opted for the crispy skinned Stewart Island Salmon fillet with kina and coriander risotto, prawn salsa and capsicum cream sauce which was cooked to perfection! For dessert, I chose the sticky date pudding with ice cream - a perfect end to a wonderful dinner.
The whole experience made it even more special, thanks to the highly attentive and friendly staff. The Bunker is one place you just have to go back to again and again. Which we did. And enjoyed the experience even more each time. Highly recommended! Make sure you book in advance as the restaurant can only seat about 14 people.
t.
