I'm writing this as my 200th review mainly because this restaurant deserves each of these 5 stars. Excellent location as we were staying at the hotel so very convenient in terms of commute! I had a memorable dinner here with my cousin for her birthday and we were very pleased with the service, meals (I had the pork belly then the steak with roasted gourmet potatoes. My cousin had the lamb ribs and market fish), and ambience. I didn't have room for dessert unfortunately but we had a drink at the fire pit after dinner. My only feedback would be that the potatoes could have been a lot more crispier and that we could BYO. A lot of the time, my ideal wine isn't on 99.9% of the wine lists at restaurants in this country so am always on the lookout for places that have BYO so that I can enjoy my favourite wine with my meal. Other than this, I can't wait to eat here again at Wakatipu Grill and am looking forward to my next visit.

I didn't really like the lamb ribs because the meat was too fatty and the salad on the side was not nice either. But except for that, everything else was wonderful!! We really enjoyed socialising with Hash and Phoenix at the bar by the fireplace.

We visited Wakatipu Grill in late-2019, during the Christmas season. Their 3-course dinner menu was lovely. The appetizer – the baked ciabattas – were crusty, and the spiced butter spread on top was creamy and flavourful. For the entrees: The cured blue cod – tender and smooth. The pan-seared salmon – so succulent, and the sauce was sublime. The turkey breast, however, was overcooked and rubbery. Broccolini and garnishes tasted old. Dessert was fabulous – we love the pudding platter, the chocolate mousse and that creamy cherry mascarpone trifles. Overall, we were pleased with the dining experience.

We went for our anniversary dinner there and oh boy the view of the lake, the ambiance and the food everything was on point! We had a lamb rump with truffle oil fries and a couple of pizzas. Everything was utterly delicious. Big shout out to the staff as well for making everything better for us. Can’t wait to go back again. Cheers!

Beautiful food (beef cheeks, pork belly, venison ribs & lamb shank was delicious) and service. Olga was wonderful and provided the best service we have ever experienced. She’s a real asset! We will be back

Ate here at our anniversary. We were served by luciana from Argentina! Her service was lovely and the food was amazing! We ate Lamb and wagyu with chips and broccoli and it was 10/10. The soup of the day was very nice aswell!! Thank you Luciana for the service and the lovely experience dining with yous. Eric

Steak okay, pork belly was 5 star, truffle fries was amazing, lamb was exceptional, market fish was great too! Overall great experience the manager was so professional and easy to have a conversation with, also very helpful!

Celebrated my birthday with both high tea and dinner at Wakatipu Grill. Good view, good food, made even better with amazing service by the service staff. Thank you Hilton Queenstown for making my birthday an unforgettable one.

Our 10yr wedding anniversary Dinner was made extra special here with some little surprises from the staff - don't think it was for our anniversary I think they were just being generous - bringing us a new canapé to try while our main was being prepared and then a pre dessert dessert (!! Love this new concept) their evening menu was inventive and fancy. I had the fish which was salmon with some fancy sauces etc and my husband had the eye fillet with a mushroom tart and beef tongue in some sort of pasta pillow - really need the menu to explained it well. But the highlight for me was the personal touches, service and the chocolate sponge dessert which was a surprise and delight with every mouthful.

It was my girst time to go and have dinner in such a restaurant and belive me it was awesome, service, people,environment,food all things is best and they created a beautiful and rememberable experience for me. I would recommend to go and try that once.

The shop assistant in UGG recommended this restaurant to us and it was a lovely experience dining here! Beautiful views, less tourists, great food!

I just had the most succulent,melt in your mouth merino lamb,it was cooked to perfection,they definitely stand by there award winning reputation I recommend it to everyone who dines here.on top of the very accomidating service.

Good meals but definitely not as good as we remembered, however they did give us a free glass of bubbles. Must be covid related so giving them the benefit of doubt

Beautiful food, fresh and seasonal.. Servings small for the pricing but the service was exceptional. The fire pit is a great spot to sit for a wine beforehand and watch the sun go down.

Beat part about this spot is it's away from the Hussle of QT and the ferry is right outside, so you can always get back easy enough with a great view.

Delicious food with awesome views of the lake. During summer worth to go earlier and have some drinks by the lake. A bit overpriced, though...

Very friendly staff and great service. The menu can be a bit off putting if you like clear reading and simple descriptive information about what you are about to eat. A lot of fancy pretentious words to describe simple common ingredients. We had the chicken dish and ribeye steak, with sides of salad and fries. The food was good but nothing to write poetry about. While the steak was great, the chicken was a touch dry and very salty. Salad was quite wet and salty too. Good deserts and coffee made up for the average chicken and salad though. The place is modern and had nice atmosphere with comfortable seating, and we did enjoy our time there but we think it was overpriced for the experience.

The food is good/great, and our server was very friendly, and they provided a few comped items, which is always nice. However, we were nearly shunned for not having a reservation, despite the restaurant having so many tables empty. It was very weird. They told us one hour twenty minutes minimum to be seated, but then were able to seat us in under 5 minutes. That all would be fine except that there were empty tables throughout our entire time there. Anyway, it's a good place to eat, and you won't be disappointed here, but do make a reservation.

Went hear for breakfast as part of our stay at the Hilton ($29pp). There was plenty of pastries, juice, coffee, cheese and breads. There were also eggs, hashbrowns, mushrooms, tomatoes all the breakfast essentials. On top of that there was rice and curry, and samosas so plenty to choose from. You definitely won't leave hungry. And there's a beautiful view by the windows. Service was excellent!

Absolutely loved this place. Was the best dinner out we had in Queenstown and would have loved to have finished our holiday here rather than Lombardi which we didn't enjoy half as much! Service was lovely, the two ladies who looked after us really made sure we were comfortable and were attentive. The atmosphere was impeccable and the food even better, both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here and will be back when we are in Queenstown next!

Good is OK, not great. The service is terrible, but we did come while there was a big party in the room. The view is pretty awesome, the outside terrace overlooks the lake. It's a convenient place to have dinner of you stay at the Hilton and didn't want to go out.

We have dinned here many times as locals. It's far from cheap and we best recommend outside the tourist peaks.. but the location, atmosphere, food and silver 5 star service is magnificent..... We even had our wedding dinner there!. Parking is a nightmare.... take the water taxi if you can...

Being Coeliac it was great to see there awareness around this and that the food on offer is very high class

The food is ok. The ambience is great. Our wait staff was warm and friendly. They messed our order once but were quick to get the correct one when told about the error. This is the closest place to eat for people staying at Hilton Queenstown.

Incredible food, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. Very accommodating for the two young children we had in our group too, nothing was a problem. Definitely recommend!

Found out about Wakatipu Grills's High Tea brunches. Matthew, the Manager of the restaurant was very friendly and helpful from the first email enquiry. We had wanted to host a wedding rehearsal brunch for our family in March, and Wakatipu Grill warmly accomodated us and our families. Service was excellent, yummy food, great atmosphere and views of the lake. Thank you Matthew and Wakatipu Grill!

Amazing place for couples and family. Nice view and recommended to book the table with lake view.

The rib eye was incredible (5/5). On the pricier side ($42) but well worth it. The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. Beautiful setting. Ambience missed a certain je ne sais quoi. Now wow and slightly overpriced but recommended. Totally enjoyable.

The food is lovely and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit of a pain, so get the ferry if you can as others have suggested

Service was ok. Avoid the venison as stringy and bland with rubbery skin on a over-sweet base.

Yummy as breakfast! All you can eat and it includes coffee, drinks etc. Dinner is nice as well. But the breakfast is the thing to go for here.

Very nice location, food and service very good. Worth getting a water taxi over from Queenstown if you're not staying nearby.

Silver service ans food is amazing. Ezcellant fire pit outside undercover looking over and into Queenstown... hidden away so tou have to know where to go to find it...
