R.Their branch ‘look’ really good, taste was ok-ish, serving size was generous and everything was well-cooked. But, somehow they missed the mark in every way.
For example: the vinegar was a bit strong for their poached eggs, the baked beans could add a little extra salt, the hash browns was a bit ‘moist’. The bacons were cooked ‘perfectly’, not too dry not too oily but there is just something missing about them but I don’t what it is.
Coffee was great thou, good atmosphere.
Hence the 3 stars.
Might revise the rating for their lunch/dinner menu in the future.
T.Have been here a few times recently. Each time the food has been delicious, served promptly, and some great recommendations from the bar staff about suitable drinks.
One time, we even ended up buying a bottle of an unusual rum to take home which was recommended and absolutely delicious!
They always check regularly if you need anything else, so our glasses are never empty for long. Premises are clean and nicely set out too
M.Lovely food and lovely people. Korean chicken burger with fries are so crispy and the pretzel bap is amazing. The beef cheeks are also nice and the pies can be shared between two people. Three of us ordered one dish each and it was very filling and too big so asked for a takeaway box and they happily gave it to us. Don't want to food to go to waste. Next time will order one between two people if getting the pie, as it's those tall double-height pies. Best new year's eve dinner ever.

A.Amazing Service, great chilled atmosphere, had brunch with my family and the food was exceptional... this is our new regular.
A.We visited here a few weeks ago. Not sure the location is the right spot. I would've thought in the actual shopping area near Countdown would be more appropriate. Still, it caters to the newest residential areas I guess. As a restaurant I thought it lacked appeal in comparison to the city branch which has alot more character. There was no ambience. I can't pinpoint exactly what it lacks but there's something missing. There was plenty of seating with two outside areas, one for smokers. The doors were open as it was a nice day. We were seated in the restaurant side as we'd requested. After our meal we went into the bar area. The bar stools need replacing. They're practically the same size as the table so you sit well above the table. If you're tall like my brother is at 6'5, you're bending over it. Anyway, the menu offered a small plate menu before 5pm. They had dumplings for $1 each, so we ordered enough for six people. You also had to pay extra for the sauce at $2. The chunky chips was a very generous portion, not greasy and served with tomato and aioli. To top it off our desserts were again, very generous servings. Although, you had to wait until 5pm for dessert! Creme Brulee with berry compote and ice cream, Sticky date pudding with baileys and butter and the trio icecream with berries were delightful. Food wise: the portions presentation, cost were more than reasonable. We were all very happy. Drinks service to the table was also ok, the service was attentive. However, you would think when serving drink orders they would also clear the table of the dirty plates at the same time. We found we were always prompting them to do this. Initially, when taking drink orders they wouldn't take away the dirty glasses so our table was filling up with dirty dishes. There was a young duo performing, a guitarist and singer. As muso's ourselves we felt they lacked soul with no connection. Her voice was nice, a bit soft for the songs they chose and you couldn't hear her over the guitar. Still, our toes were tapping and with practise and confidence I'm sure they will grow. Overall, it was an 'OK' experience hence, the three stars.
K.Highly recommend :) We ate 4 different meals from the lunch menu, the choices, presentation, and flavours were varied, interesting and showed attention to detail, which we enjoyed very much.
Living in rural Waimak we had not visited before. We met up with elderly family members on their travels so booked from a Google search.
I was grateful and moved by the attention to our request on the booking notes. My Aunt has difficulty hearing, even with hearing aids, so I asked for a quiet table. Not only did they reserve a quiet table, they also turned down the sound in that area. I was touched by their consideration.
All the waiting staff were friendly, helpful and kind. We dined and chatted for several hours, and I could not rate the staff higher for they way we were treated.
So, food excellent, service even better :)

I.Great service, food was fantastic and the staff friendly. I did not have to ask for a doggie bag, the young man saw that I left some of my food and brought me a take away container. Will be back for sure. Well done guys
R.This was my first time visiting the Pedal Pusher. The interior is very nicely set out. It seems as though they have two sections, one for families with children, which gave my partner and I some quiet time. The food itself is amazing too. We went for brunch and got the eggs bene and tiramisu pancakes. Highly recommend both! The presentation was lovely as well as the food. Highly recommend!

M.I come here on a regular basis for a coffee and some niblles. Also have had a dinner and an a breakfast recently. The food and service are of good quality but think the menu is very traditional and does need a bit of an update in the choices that are offered.

A.Food was delicious, staff friendly and the environment was nice, it was slightly pricey for what we got. This on the left is a roast veggie salad and it’s mostly lettuce, would have liked a bit more roast veggies otherwise was a nice experience.

N.Really nice cafe/bar. We went there for brunch whilst passing thru Rolleston. Glad we detoured to this cafe as was really nice. Decor was fun and tasteful (keeping with the theme of biking). I had eggs benny and hubby had the big breakfast. Both were really tasty and plenty of bacon really well cooked. Yum! Only tiny thing that let it down was that poached eggs were a little on the hard side, but other than that, all was delicious. Would definitely visit again.

S.Great service but meal was a bit disappointing . Ordered the quinoa roast vege and smoked salmon salad. The vegetables were cut into tiny pieces and the smoked salmon was smooshed through the salad. Not to appealing to the eye. Maybe it the vegetables were more of a rustic cut and the salmon in bigger chunks it would of appealed to me more.
M.First time dining. Our waitress tonight was awesome! Very professional and really easy going, she made our night! Food was perfect, kudos to the chef Calamari was cooked perfectly, the chowder was delicious and the bar man made a great expresso martini to top it all off. Already planning our next visit.
A.Like walking into Cheers, where everybody knows ...at least who you are, love it! Super friendly, the service comes to your table for drinks refills, the most delicious food options and great chilled environment. Sunny outdoor areas and dog friendly. I highly recommend.

P.Took my wife there for a mother’s day breakfast. They had reduced breakfast menu so my wife couldn’t get what she wanted. They did offer all the mums a free glass of champagne, unfortunately my wife doesn’t like champagne and wasn’t offered another choice. Finally they got my order wrong and gave me the wrong type of eggs. Staff were very friendly but food was average.
R.The staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived as a party of two instead of three we were offered a smaller quieter table.
It was a hot day though the restaurant was pleasantly cool we both ordered a salad. Which though tasty had too much lettuce and the egg in my Ceasar salad had just come straight out of the fridge I was expecting a warm if not hot poached egg.
I had requested no bacon which was not a problem.
B.This is a lovely place. Parking right at the door. The only reason I've given 4 stars is that I ordered a hot chocolate which didn't taste like chocolate at all. They offered another and mixed it differently but unfortunately the taste didn't improve. I was not charged for these two drinks but I am pretty sure that perhaps regular cows milk wasn't used or what they did use was past it's best by date.
B.I really like they way this restaurant is set up. A family tables area separated by the bar from other dinners. Makes dining with young children (3 & 1) much more enjoyable when your not worrying about your kids. Plenty to occupy them, tepe, duplo, selection for all ages as well as crayons and colouring books. The food was yummy, I had a Beef Burger and my husband the Salmon which he really enjoyed. Will be back here again.

S.Restaurant quite busy today. Waited 40 minutes after ordering. Beef Cheeks tender and tasty. Waiter attentive although busy. Due to a small remark of not being that impressed with the Bacon Sandwich, the head chef surprised us with a delicious dessert on the house whipped up by himself. Most impressed.
R.Not being from Christchurch, and last having visited quite some time ago, I was surprised at the growth of Rolleston. This restaurant was a seriously good find. I recommend you try it if you're in the area. I had the Thai beef salad for lunch and absolutely loved it.

J.Really nice little spot even if it is a little expensive to get a pint. We had work drinks and there was a drink for everyone. From the six dollar prosecco to the craft beer in a jar and even a lager.
We needed some snacks so we got some wedges and the charcuterie board. The wedges were awesomely crunchy and the popcorn fried chicken on the board was delicious.

We were very impressed by the vinters knowledge and ability to share vineyards ethos. So good ,and service at the restaurant was highly commenable. As a consequence of our experience I felt confident to recommend the pedal pusher to some of my customers who were returning to Ashburton from halswell.They went for lunch on their way home and a week later when I met them again they,without prompting said how much they had enjoyed the food and service. So well done we will continue to enjoy and promote your product☺☺☺☺
