Was hot outside so to come into a fresh,and clean restaurant with the air conditioning on was re-freshing,the chefs were polite & helpful steak cooked amazing,desserts were beautiful especially the apple crumble and custard,raw fish was terrible tasted like vinegar,the pizza was beautiful and we'll presented,my 7year old punished the oysters they were devine. The staff that showed us our table was lovely,due to covid she made sure we were following protocol at all times,emptied our tables when needed to,and greeted us on our way in & just as we were about to leave,her name was Liz,Thankyou Rotorua valentine's for giving us a beautiful exsperience of your restaurant we will be back to dine in again soon. from a happy and full customers from windy wellington.

Nice atmosphere and good value for money if you have a big stomach! Great seafood and dessert range although the oysters were small and you sometimes end up eating little bits of shell... There's a step near the food that's funny to watch people almost stumble over it haha. All and all you should go once I promise you that you will leave feeling "full as a bull" just be ready to bump into people over and over again.

Arrived just before 7pm left around 8.45 . Would be one of the best dinners I've had for a very long long time, as was expected the seafood was fresh , the seafood Chowder was full of seafood and not like soup . While we were there couldn't help but notice that the table's were wiped and disinfected.

Great variety of salad that compliments the yummy creamy fish well, butterchicken and meat is tender. I would say quality of the seafood has declined, also the raw fish had a different taste which can be improved. The staff were very welcoming and helpful on what flavours and ingredients were used to create the meals, it was wholesome because you could feel the passion of the food they prepare

We chose valentine's Rotorua for our wedding anniversary dinner with our family. The absolutely best meal and service ever. The choice of food was top quality, all credit to head chef Simon and his fellow cooks. Liz and Savita our wait staff were so lovely and helped make our evening. We all had an absolutely fabulous evening, thank you.

I found the buffet meats to be cold and semi tasty, it was a pleasant atmosphere and very quiet. The hostess was awesome, but still I feel a little pricy for the quality and quantity of the food.

Located in the town centre, this franchise has very good food, many different dishes to choose from, and good value for those who have a good appetite and your average family. Staff are super friendly and helpful as well. Definitely will come back.

This place is wonderful. It has upped its game from years ago. I think there are new owners. We are celebrating our combined birthdays there tonight again. It is practical because it caters to everyone's preferences. The food is fresh and the service is great. I am from out of town but it has become our go to place when I am up here visiting with family. We have been there a few times now and it has always been an excellent experience.

After a short wait to be seated, we enjoyed a delicious meal. It was a self serve meal. Each dish was clearly identified. Although there were multiple groups, the noise level was low and we were able to have clear conversations. The staff were attentive and friendly. It has good toilets. Parking is good. I would like to eat there again.

Booked a last minute birthday function at Valentines Rotorua and they were more than happy to accommodate our group of 28! The front desk lady (forgot her name) was amazing! She happily rearranged the tables for us and let us set up a little early, her customer service is amazing. The 2 waiters that we had were phenomenal! We weren't rushed out of the restaurant which was amazing and could continue with our formalities and leave when we wished. Food was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!! As an Aucklander, I have come to visit Rotorua Valentines often as it does not disappoint. Thank you very much for your hospitality and for putting up with our group under short notice!!

Don't go into this place expecting anything other than simple, unflavorful, mass cooked dishes to be served at a buffet. After all, that's why people come here. None of the dishes are particularly good, but it can't be said that any of the dishes are particularly disgusting either. Overall the food is simply okay. Nothing more nothing less.

Hmmm. Tough one this one. Ok let's start with the good. We went there 4 of us about 2 months ago when there was no restrictions. Food was Briliant. Plenty to choose from, all fresh and the seafood section was a great mix. You could just spoon what you wanted be it prawn cocktail, coconut fish or huge tiger prawns. At $38 it was a well priced meal for such a huge selection. So they do know how to put on a good spread! Hmm yesterday. Level 3. Gloves and mask required. That's ok. I accept that. The beef strog and butter chicken were standout. The rest shall I just say needed some serious intervention to get right. Serving brandy snaps with fake yellow cream....come on. Dry bread pudding. Lumpy custard. Real chef 101 first year school teaching this. So price is still $38 but this time I'm thinking.. I'd rather have spent 50 and ate at one of the many top rated restaurants. There's a huge choice in Rotorua.

Every bite was amazing. The new chef from the gondolas definitely knew how to cook everything perfectly. The dinner selection was varied from seafood, salads, roast meats, ham, pizzas, garlic breads, soups and breads. The butter chicken was my personal fave. The desserts were yummy! Awesome night out with my mum and nana. The diners were also patient and friendly. All around wonderful experience.

I seriously don't know how this place makes money. Price per head for the buffet was pretty good. The variety was awesome. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying or visiting Rotorua.

It was a great experience as per usual. The food was delicious so much variety and the staff super friendly and attentive. This has become one of our regular dinner venues when we come to Rotorua. See you all again real soon!

Treated my Son & Family to dinner here for his 27th birthday. The birthday cake was absolutely delicious. However, as a seafood salad dish lover, I have no choice but to give my review as 'not my cup of tea'... and $18.00 for a jug of 'fizzy'..oopsy on the wallet! Try the endless glass option instead. Other than that..it was ok. My grandchildren loved their desserts and the CS Attendants were lovely. My sons loved the meat dishes and the desserts. Family critique is.."We seriously suggest they improve on the seafood salad recipe arrangements to get 5 stars. 😉

Tastey food, great selection across the board, enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak by head Chef Mark, which we highly recommend, as well as the oysters which were delicious 👌🏽 great service by all, but a special thanks to our waiter Shiv who took great care of our Whanau of eight, he was friendly, polite, attentive and helpful when my Nana was trying to figure out how to use the coffee machine haha. The staff is very attentive and polite, the Chef's wonderful, but they could only put signs for people please not to put their hands on the buffet food, I found it disgusting when I saw. I loved the environment, food and I intend to return, but I hope don't witness any dirty attitudes from customers

They has fresh Oysters and their dessert bar is pretty good. They have a variety of food, some of which is not very good. The restaurant is large and spacious with good parking behind the building. The service was really good at the beginning but peetered out a bit. Went for a moko birthday and that was a couple of days ago and they wouldnt acknowledge that, unlike other places that would. The seat I was at was uncomfortable for me, I swapped to a padded seat. Would I go again? yes if that is where the mokos want to go

Xmas Lunch 2020, Savita was wonderful during all communications prior to the day and just a joy in person. Meeting place for myself from South Auckland and my brother from BOP, we both had a fabulous time, well worth the trip. Great selection of food and waiter Shiv was awesome. We were up from Wellington and it was my daughter's birthday. Bit disappointed as there were not 3 plus the birthday girl so all they offered was a non alcohol drink. We visited Valentines with some misgivings based on past experience and reviews. Much to our surprise it was very good. Clean, spacious, very helpful and courteous staff and a good selection of food. It has no Michelin stars but we weren't expecting sophisticated food - we enjoyed it and the grandchildren had a ball. We arrived at 5:45 pm which may be a good time to do it.

We went to Valentines a few months ago for breakfast and were happy with the selection, freshness, quality and price. We weren't as impressed on our recent evening visit. We arrived close to 8pm, on a slow evening. Most of the hot dishes looked as if they were put out when they opened and only stirred over to refresh instead of being replaced. An exception was the hot roast ham which was excellent and continuously replenished and the garlic bread. The salads were unexciting. A standout were the deserts which were great with a good selection. Overall it was ok for the price but I expected better.

Reopened recently. We actually went twice for lunch and dinner about a month apart. Lunch was well worth the price. Food was freshly made. The variety was okay for the main dishes. The desserts were wonderful. They probably had more dessert options than main dishes. Dinner was the same exact dishes as lunch. We feel that for the extra price you pay for dinner, there should have been more variety. The one extra thing they had for dinner was Made to Order Steak, which was pretty good. So that may make it worth you extra pay. But they may offer steak to order for lunch as well and we just didn't notice it when we went. Overall, it was worth going for the occation that we went and we enjoyed it.

Had dinner here last night , went on a monday at around 7 PM... quite disappointed ... service was fine staff was fine that wasn't the problem.. might of been our timing but the food was dry , chips were hard and dry , seafood didn't seem fresh , bbq ribs were way dry and hardly any meat on them ... everything I looked at I had to hesitate cos it didnt look fresh or appetizing sorry to say. Probably won't go back here again but hopefully they will try to keep their food fresher ...

Its level 1 today and so I shared a meal with my wife here tonight. The meal quality was above average but the range was limited as they restart the full restraunt. We go for lunch because it is affordable, there is a variety to choose from and the staff are awesome. Food isn't always great, Infact it's very inconsistent. Today the ribs were super dry, but the raw fish was the goods, and who doesn't love a choc fountain! Keshia the waitress was smiley and helpful and very friendly... she saved the day!

Thought we'd give Valentines a try, after reading through reviews and hearing it straight from the mouth - Overall some of the food was alright but not all, I wouldn't trust the Seafood here as they weren't fresh when we went in and they just kept refilling everything, even though some of the pottery need to be replaced itself, sorry but everything should of been replaced with clean stuff before being refilled. That's how people get sick!!!!

While we did have a good meal here one concern was the presentation of their chilled oysters when one batch they had put out was warm and when queried they stated that person responsible had used hot water to rinse so they weren't dry, if incorrectly prepared they should not have been put out for consumption hey Kitchen Rules must say something to the so called professionals. Bit disappointing wouldn't you think. Got to say the front line staff were very good and did listen & passed on the comments as others did follow up on the concern. Hope this does get back to the franchise as it really does say don't drop the soap, keep on top of your game. Cheers4now

It was ok. Raw fish was very dry and thick. If you would like a lesson in making raw fish please let me know. Oysters were undersized, moose was too thick not nice at all, otherwise had a lovely waitress and left with a full tummy .

Nearly didn't go after reading reviews but my daughter insisted she loves valentines! Don't let the reviews put you off, I have been to many valentines and this was by far the best. Great food made better by excellent staff. Very polite and cleared plates and refilled water right away! Clean and a great family atmosphere. Will be back if we come back to rotorua!

Valentine's Rotorua is making a come back!we dined here sunday for dinner and Every single staff member had exceptional customer service skills and the food was awesome fresh, tasty, and I love love love that they have brought the steak back without it i probibly wouldent come back only because i feel like it makes more variety as not everyone likes seafood. There was a birthday on and the staff sung happy birthday to them with smiles on thier faces. All the food was rotating fast and the chefs were lovely and polite. The manager even came to our table to see how our meals were wich was awesome. Thier dessert was stand out many different flavoured cheese cakes that every one was enjoying, pavalova ice cream jelly mouse apple pie fresh vanilla custard bread and butter pudding i could go on and on this valentines is stand out and the best valentines i have been to in 10 years. Good on you guys excellent work!

Table for 2 with no booking, no problem. Friendly staff and tables cleared regularly. Reasonably priced at $26.90 for weekend lunch. Enjoyed the seafood. Made a yummy Caesar salad from scratch incl bacon bits / croutons / caesar sauce .. vege korma with rice and popadoms .. fish & chips with salad, cheese and crackers, then I had apple crumble with custard, cream and ice cream .. there were lots of other things but I only like eating things that go with each other. Fantastic if you can't decide what to have for lunch like we did. Will definitely be back!

Went to this restaurant about 4 years ago and after being to other Valentine's and receiving bad service and bad food, we we're pleasently surprised, this was by far the best we'd ever been to. There were loads of choices, food was great and well priced. We are back in Rotorua in December and will be coming for dinner for the only night we are in town, we are hoping we receive the same service as last time. Here's hoping, see you then!

This is the second time I've been here. The first time was for dinner wasn't very impressed the hot food was cold. This time round was for lunch. Food was so much tastier and more inviting. It cost $28.90.

Well who would of thought. Two kids under 5 and myself ended up being cheaper then Mc Donalds. Boys had sweetcorn pizza and nuggets and soup. They then had Ice Cream and wrapped up sweets in their napkins. They loved it. Best spent $6:00 each child ever for lunch. And we took the time to relax and enjoy. Need to change and explore Valentine's as it was a true bargain.
