Right by the park dog friendly cafe, great stop on way through for breakfast. Had the bacon Benedict which had generous amount of bacon, herb rosti, grilled tomato and a homemade hollandaise. Perfect poached eggs. Dad had a cheese scone which looked delicious and he said was good. Daughters iced mocha was enjoyed, coffee was nice even though was served in takeaway cup.

Wow what an amazing spot and the best meals . We ordered three breakfasts and large meals arrived quickly. Delicious , five star service , food and location . My 6yo devoured the French toast relaxed atmosphere and one of the best ice chocolates iv tasted 😃 we will be back

Fantastic location in town and close to the water, we had an amazing brunch the other day, burgers are to die for, we go there regularly. Only downside is that the seating areas feel very neglected looking and a makeover would be tremendous. Doesn't stop us going there but it doesn't lure you in if you don't know the place which is a shame.

The food was delicious but had to wait an hour and a half for the food to come. When we had ordered we were politely told that the wait would be 40-50 minutes, we had agreed and waited. In the time that we were there our table was cleared from the smooties we had finished and people that had turned up after us had received their food in a short period of time.

Watch out for the really aggressive seagulls that pounce on anyone's left over food. A smile from wait staff wouldn't go amiss, and getting the correct plate when one of us ordered gluten free is essential! Food was OK.

Love this place everytime on our way to the Coromandel. Breakfast was tasty and the chips were cooked just right, the only thing that put me off were the aggressive seagulls which is no fault of the restaurants but a little gross when they are flapping at you while eating.

Had a good breakfast at The Pepe, took a little longer than what we were told but they made up for it with free slice. The kids had the waffles, expected them to be a thick waffle but came out like a thin pancake in the shape of a heart. Otherwise everything else was good.

The food and Coffee were both tasty, and the price not too steep, but a little on the high side. The Brie and chicken panini was served with a nice chutney and also salad which made for quite a cost-effective tasty small meal. Interestingly, my latte was served in a large glass cup instead of a mug with a handle. I was pleased that the latte was made to my specifications of only a single shot, as plenty of places I've been to tend to make the latte too strong for me. Although the coffee itself was not hot, it was warmer than lukewarm which is also an improvement on most cafes. I was pleased to see that there was a selection of sugars available, from sweetener to White to regular to Raw. I much prefer raw sugar, and a number of cafes I've been to recently do not provide raw sugar, so it was nice to have that option available again. The slice of carrot cake was a reasonable portion, and was still moist even after a long day of being in the display cabinet. It was served with a good amount of fresh cream. The young woman who served us was pleasant but not chatty or interactive. The ambiance of the cafe is fairly bland and indistinct, and I didn't feel particularly welcome there as such. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered. There's quite a nice view out towards the lagoon through some of the windows. The cafe itself is tidy and simply decorated, with some need for a spruce up being required. I think the staff could do better to be more friendly, engaging an interactive. Overall, worth a visit. The cafe staff strongly recommend that patrons don't feed the seagulls and other large seagoing birds, as they can be very aggressive and cause all manner of problems. You have been warned!

Gorgeous, from greeting when we arrived to saying farewell at the end, awesome. The food was just delish. Hubby had fish and chips and I Thai green curry, yummy yum yum. Highly recommend this place. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Pepe is a really good seafood restaurants. They offer delicious fish of the day and a nice a la cart menu. The oysters are very fresh and are really yummy. The restaurant has an easy style with not to much decoration. The service is very friendly and ask for any requests.

Good service, not great, food was lovely, I like bigger pieces of mushroom in the arancini, the feta just melted through. :-) Decor has the masculine feel to it, very pleasant with alfresco dining and a beautiful sea view if you want it. Reasonable cost and didn't take for ever to arrive.

A very unusual thing happened here, we ordered a bowl of wedges for the kids and it came with enough sour cream so the last wedge got some. Great value for money. Good coffee, and you can see the kids on the playground.

The Food is average. The milkshakes and ice chocolates are just milk with a bit of flavor in there and ice mixed around! We try not give up on it, but the meat in the nachos we had today tasted like cat food. Even with the sour cream and avocado. Staff are nice.

The coffee shop on the main road getting to Tairua town, nice and friendly service. Food was good. I order Fish and Chip on the first day which was nicely done. The next day, I came back and ordered the smashed avocado. Small shop, friendly staffs, good coffee, nice and clean, and have a great view of the beach

If you are not in a hurry, and want to relax. This is ok. They get busy, so service is a little slow. Pues are yummy. And toasted sandwiches are good . I did not think it was expensive. They have a proper coffee express machine. So coffee is good.

The mussels were really tasty but a little small. The loaded wedges were also quite good. The mince and cheese pie was different - more like a bolognese sauce but I didn't mind it. The service was pleasant.

Had the opportunity to dine here for a quick bite to eat a handful of times now. Friendly service. Food is always well presented and generous proportions just seems to lack flavour! Especially the baking. Lots of places to sit indoor and outdoor. Just remember you're at the beach and you're sharing your spot with opportunist seagulls lol who will happily clear your plates for free! Don't mind them. Enjoy the beachy breeze and a wander thru the quaint little town! Looking forward to our next visit all the same.

Stopped in today again. Fast and friendly as usual. Nice view from the back of the water and reserve. The food was very good for what you pay. These guys charge a very fair price based on their location and quality of food. Some other places in Tairua are far too expensive and just there to gouge tourists. As usual I will stop in again on my next trip up.

Coffee was great. Food was generic Cafe style of yesteryear and will keep most people happy. Would recommend to older people and families. I went with the full breakfast, they forgot the bacon and all I got was a generic precooked sausage, some dried up mushrooms and some sort of jam on the plate. The Eggs were great though.

Review 1- Amazing food prepared by the chef working Tuesday 24/07/2018 best food I have had, a lot better then any of the food served in Auckland 5 star! The lady working at front house was super kind and friendly will definitely be coming back here such great service! Review 2- amazing quality food. Payed 50$ and left with more than enough food to feed a family, not to mention that chef is going places! Really gives this cute little town a well deserved reputation. Thank you!

Great location, easy access. Wennt with great grandma and had no issues getting up and in with the mobility aids. Also had 2 kids under 5. All the food and service was top notch. The big breakfast was one of the best I've had.

Well it ain’t all bells & whistles, but as a value-for-money establishment offering very palatable food, a good place to go. The decor’s tired (shop’s been there a long while I’m sure) but the friendly staff & quality of meals supersede this. Unfortunately the place felt tired. There was a distinct lack of pride in the presentation of the buildings and service areas. Beer shelves weren't stocked there was half eaten food at the service counter and staff were eating behind the counter. This was a return visit because i enjoyed this place three years ago when i was in town. I hope it finds the passion to reinvigorate itself by next time I'm in town
