Not just glorious pies, but great range of basic delicacies too. Great coffees too. Excellent, well-patronised facility in the centre of the CBD of Taupo. Inside seating great any time of year, and nice outside seating with simple views and fresh air. Two minutes walk from public toilets and less than ten minutes walk to the beach. Pleasant, courteous local team members 😊 💖 ... absolute stars on a busy day.

Got a steak and cheese and a Venison bacon mushroom cheese. The steak and cheese was okay, nothing special. The venison bacon mushroom, couldn't really make out the taste. There wasn't really a strong taste of venison, so yeah nothing special imo. Wonder if the other pies are good, my overall experience was pretty average to be honest.

The pie pastry is crispy. The filling is tasty. I had the seafood pie and it came with various seafood inside such as shrimp, octopus and crab meat. The steak bacon cheese pie was a little bit too gravy for me. The pancake was okay. Overall, it's a good choice of breakfast for winter.

I had a "highly commended 2018" steak-bacon-cheese pie. Now I've eatin alot of pies on my time on planet earth.. But that pie was bloody awesome. This neat little bakery/Cafe deserves a visit when in taupo ... Even my thick shake was yummy as...

Amazing food, clean tables. Food tastes like the bakeries of old. Delish and large pies. Cutsard pie was the best I've had in a long time!!

The pastry is flaky and still has the taste of a pie (some bakeries made it too flaky like a croissant). The filling was full of flavour and meat. Mince pie, venison (the ingredients complement well), and the bacon egg and mushroom was all very very good. The awards they got aren't fake news!

The pie here lives up to its name of NZ Pie Award winner! Tried 4 types of pies and they were all really good. The Steak and Cheese and Venison is a must try.

The venison, bacon, mushroom and cheese pie is just devine! So is the butter chicken. The pastry is nice and flakey and there is proper meat inside. Would definitely recommend.

Only bought a single chicken sandwich (just as well anything more and I probably would have burst) very filling, totally blown away by the fact you could actually taste the seasonings salt/pepper unlike most bakery sandwiches and was very delicious... My mate got a steak pie and amazingly it had steak in it and not just a token piece but actually full of it... Both of us were highly impressed with the quality of the food at a reasonable price ... Also greeted by a very nice and pleasant young lady who gave great service. I would actually rate fast and fresh 6 out of 5 stars, and will definitely be going back again. 😊😊😊

I like to think that I'm a bit of a pie expert so i was keen to try this place especially since it won a few trophies in the pie awards. I had a mince & cheese and a mushroom, bacon & cheese. I can't say that they were the best pies that I've ever had but they were up there. The ultimate test for any pie is... Would you go back there to buy another one? In this case I can give a definite... Yes, no hesitation at all.

We had a range of pies and everyone loved what they ate (chicken and cream, steak, seafood). Pies were juicy and fresh. However, they took ages to clean the tables and we ended up cleaning those by ourselves which costs them 2 stars. Table next to us had the same issue and they ended up cleaning their table as well.

We tried the award winning venison, steak and cheese and the steak pie. They were utterly amazing, worth the accolades. The base and top pastry was perfect and the filling meaty, rich and thick, without being over seasoned. These people know their craft!
