Best Nepali food I have had till now in New Zealand. Food and staff both were amazing. Truly authentic Nepali taste. Can’t afford to miss this when visiting Taupo next time.

We were so impressed with the service we received at Indian Affair. We were greeted at the menu board outside and asked if we would like to wait inside for our takeaways. While we waited, we ordered a glass of wine and beer and the hosts bought us a lovely taster on the house. This was very lovely and the friendly service was appreciated. The food we took home was fresh and delicious! Thank you for an outstanding experience Indian Affair.

By far the best place to try Nepalese and Indian food in Taupo. Authentic nepali test and the staffs were very friendly. The whole experience of eating out was superb. Delicious food and owesome service. I visited this place with my partner last week on my birthday. Anish manager welcomed us and recognized us from our last visit. He is very friendly and has excellent customer service skills. He recommended us good food. Food came quickly and full of flavors. Stopped here for lunch while passing through Taupo. Had the best Indian dishes I have had ever in NZ. A bit pricey when compared to other restaurants but it is a tourist spot and the taste of the dishes were awesome. Very good value for money. Everyone wanted more.

I visited indian affairs today. We loved the food specially punjabi chicken rara. We tried it first time and it was quite good. Everything was super delicious and up to expectations. Owner was so humble and polite. Thank you. And definitely recommend.

While shopping in Taupo, hubby and I happened to be passing this restaurant, when we paused to check out the menu outside, and were invited by one of the ultra friendly and helpful staff to come inside for lunch. As we are fans of Indian cuisine, we decided to give this place a go, and were so delighted we did, as the food surpassed our expectations with its delightful flavours and textures. We had never tried dosa before, but will certainly be sampling it again, as it is not only gluten free, but full of flavour, and the pancake had a light, crispy texture. The dips were amazing, and the dosa fillings so yummy. And, to top off our enjoyable experience, the staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful, and the prices were quite affordable. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will be back!

Tried these curries when my husband and I were staying in Taupo.Ended up going back several times.Staff always very friendly and a real pleasure to talk to.Lovely clean place and the curries were fantastic.Unfortunately family matters meant we had to leave Taupo immediately and we had to return to Whangarei but I'll never forget Indian affair and their superb curries. All the best for the new year Indian affair and staff from a couple of golden oldies from Northland.

Amazing staff to start with, great food. They made Masala Dosa for us on special request being the restaurant already busy. Made sure while we were waiting for our order, every person from staff kept asking us if we need anything else before that and we actually tried Masala Chatpati as well which was good as well. They even threw us free Poppadums 2 times while we were waiting!!! 5 star staff with 5 star food!!

We happened to walk past Indian Affair in Taupo at 10am on a Saturday morning and saw diners eating Dosas. We went back for lunch and enjoyed the best Dosa I have ever tasted as well as Panipuri to start with which Anish our waiter recommended. Forget Butter Chicken and enjoy traditional South Indian and Nepalese food at Indian Affair ( they do do Butter Chicken etc too). We will definitely make the journey back from Tauranga to experience this wonderful food. Come for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

My partner and I have just had a few days spent in Taupo this week. On the first night we walked round town finding something for tea and the smell of Indian food was drawing us in and we spotted Indian Affair on the corner so we went in. The lady greeted us so warmly and the food was just absolutely amazing! We just got the butter chicken deal but it was the best we have ever had anywhere! It was so good that we assured the lady that we will be back before we had to head home. Some takeaways you dont feel like twice a week but we honestly wanted it every night it was so good! We weren't overly stuffed but.we were very satisfied so we went back 2 nights later which was also our last night in Taupo. My.partner rang through our order from the motel and we walked round to pick it up. The same lady greeted us so nicely and definitely remembered us. We were also welcomed by her little boy who was just awesome! He was a great little salesman and so friendly. After we left he ran to us down the street and high fives us and gave us a menu. He was so cute. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. It was nice and cosey dining in and the staff were just wonderful with a nice personalised service. They made us feel welcome. We will definitely come back here again! I hope they see this review and will remember us :)

Best food in New Zealand so far. I have been to 25 plus Indian restaurant around North island i can rank it at no.1. Best Nepalese and Indian cuisine really soft and juicy MoMo’s and chicken tikka, Authentic Nepalese styled goat curry and chicken choyla which was the best among all. Went here for dinner two nights ago. Had the vege platter, naan, mushroom eggplant curry and dal makani which were all great. While ordering we realized they have dosa and momo! We went back the next day for lunch and had the masala dosa, paneer dosa, and chicken momo. Absolutely yum and authentic! Dosa was perfectly crunchy yet chewy and the masala potato filling was perfect. The momo were beautiful and handmade. Everything was so great we went back for lunch the following day. To top it off, the dosa are about $11-$13 which is great compared to the $18 ones I’ve seen elsewhere in NZ. Great service as well :)

Just ordered delivery to my Motel, which Indian Affair offers free of charge. What a stunning meal, absolutely beautiful. Full of flavour and delicious. And the Naan bread, yumm!!! We had a fantastic meal, and Om the manager said that if we got together a group of 10 people he would arrange a banquet for us. This is one of the most delicious Indian meals we have ever eaten. The menu is extensive and varied and caters for all tastes of Indian cuisine. We had the Asia platter (for 2) to start and this was absolutely delicious. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I listened in to other diner's commenting on their meal and all was positive. Been to the Indian affair a number of times over the years. We have been singing from the rooftops for a while on how great the curry’s here are . This visit we took some friends who have struggled to find an Indian that they like ... that struggle is now over and they said it was the best curry they have had in New Zealand. My wife and I looked around Taupo for a place to have dinner. We were feeling pretty hungry after some mountain biking. There were a number of places that looked good, but for some reason, Indian Affair took our fancy. The owner, whom we soon got to know as Gomah, met us at the door and was very friendly and welcoming. We soon got to know her husband, Om, and all the staff were just as friendly and helpful as the night progressed. We ordered a mixed platter entree, and Punjabi chicken main with some buttered naan. The mixed platter was an impressive portion of delicacies of wonderful taste. Immediately we were impressed. As for the Punjabi chicken and buttered naan they were absolutely delicious; full of flavour. The buttered naan is to die for - definitely the best we've ever had anywhere - mouth-wateringly delicious! We noted the authentic, traditional music, which was really melodic and relaxing and set the scene for a lovely evening. Rather than giving another eatery a go on our second night in Taupo, my wife and I chose to return to Indian Affair - yes, we enjoyed it that much the previous night! - and again it did not disappoint. We ordered butter chicken, just to see how it compared with previous experiences. It was divine, full of flavour, not bland and artificial as some can be, by any means, and probably the best we've tasted, ever. The buttered naan was again a go-to and did not disappoint: indeed this is a mouth-watering delicacy. Indian Affair is an absolute gem and we will definitely head there again without a doubt next visit to Taupo. Best regards, Paul.

I love Indian Affair restaurant! We dined here on Oct 1, 2018. The waiters were friendly and attentive, and made some great drink recommendations when we wanted to try a local beer. The food was EXCELLENT - full of flavour, the meat was tender and the servings plentiful. I had the goat korma (mild) and my husband had a lamb vindaloo. The waiter took the time to ask how hot he wanted it, and it came out perfect. The naan bread was lovely too. I will definitely be back and recommend it very highly. The price was very reasonable too.

We had late lunch on a quiet afternoon there. The staff was welcoming and very friendly, despite our tired campers' appearance. Not many people eating in, but several people came to order takeaway. The food arrived very quickly (10-ish minutes), however one dish was non-vegetarian despite the order being vegetarian. We notified the waiter and she handeled it very well. She took our complaint very courteously and brought us the actual ordered dish in five minutes, in addition to letting us have the wrong dish if we liked. The food was delicious, naan was crisp and well buttered and rice was plentiful. Lastly, the lunch offer (until 15 oclock; we got it even though we arrived 14:45) of 14 $ per any main dish was a very good price in that area.
