Absolutely loved dining here. Great selection of meats, vegetables and sauces. And for kids with a fussy appetite they have a classic fish n chips menu too. Don't forget the freshly cooked pancakes and dessert tray for those with a sweet tooth. Best all you can eat buffet in town.

This is THE best meat buffet restaurants in Tauranga. Staffs are friendly quality of food is just fantastic. Beverage prices are very competitive and they have every kind of drinks. One of my favorite restaurants. Friendly staff also. I came here during level 2 and each table had little cards with your table number, which you would take up with your (uncooked) meal to leave with your bowl so you could go back to your table and wait for your meal to be brought to you, which I liked better as there was more table service and interaction with the staff, as well as having some time with whom you went there with while you wait at your table, instead of having to wait in a tight group of people for your meal to be cooked. My sister and I came here last night also, yummy food although my sister ordered a milkshake and we left the restaurant with her feeling very sick (she did not feel sick before the milkshake). Otherwise, very yummy.

Went here on Thursday night to celebrate my birthday and my wedding. We arrived half an hour late with an extra 12-15 people, they were seated quickly and without fuss. The food was enjoyed by all and all the staff were awesome. We are going back tonight to enjoy again.

As always, Gegny's never disappoints! How can it, you make all the choices so the food tastes how you like it plus the chefs cook it very thoroughly and very quickly due the the heat they use. Great experience and lovely staff. They will even make you a Mickey mouse pancake if you ask. 10/10

We went on a Monday evening when there were few people in the restaurant and had a very enjoyable time in quite surroundings. The food was delicious and we enjoyed being able to experiment with different combinations of ingredients to make our own dishes. We found that it was best to have small dishes of food so you could go back for more and try something different. There is a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff are wonderful. I really enjoyed and recommend this dining experience.

I really liked this place. Food is amazing especially I love their pancakes and ice cream stuff. For food I use sweet chilli, sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, little bit of garlic, lots of various veges(for better flavors) and main meat or seafood. These combination always works =) Even I can eat only small portion of food, still it was worth it. Good for couple, family, friends, and everyone. I am willing to go here again.

We came here for a 40th birthday party and during lockdown level 2. The place was still filled with people and I could see why. Gengy's is an all you can eat mongolian restaurant where you get to customise your own meals. They had a really good selection of actually fresh ingredients. There was fresh salad and soups at the ready also. I really enjoyed this gengy's, I've been to the Hamilton one also, however this one did the small things like having recommended sauce recipes which helped you make the most of your meal. Great service and very welcoming for events and general get together's. Thanks team.

Not everybody appreciates Gengys but for those like me that knows what food combinations go with other foods then Gengys can't be beat. You choose whether you want chicken or marinated chicken or hot chicken (and the same for beef and pork) plus a wide selection of seafood, you mix it with all manner of other food to be cooked such as baby sweetcorn, noodles, cauliflower, onion (and a huge selection of other veges) then you choose how much of the sauces and oils you want (oils such as olive, chili, sunflower, garlic, then white wine, oyster sauce and so many more to mix), take it to be cooked then after that's cooked and handed to you, you add other bits like chips, chicken nibbles, potato or kumara wedges just to name a FEW of the selections available. Plus there's usually 2 types of soups and dinner rolls to start off, then there's pancakes and ice-cream for dessert...... and this is all you can eat ! Service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. If all you're after is a steak and a few vege then this is not for you because it has a LOT more to offer. Family friendly hungerbuster that's better than Mac A's any day.

Nothing compares! Went on second-to-last night of our holiday and regretted not having been gone there earlier. Went again the next night. I love the Mongolian style dinners and have been to many different restaurants throughout NZ. This one was the best by far! Super-friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Can't wait to go again next time we're in Tauranga. Great for the kids and adults alike.

Really great place... my advice is to do small amounts to try out the right amounts of ingredients. Great pancakes idea. $1 birthday but read the fine print. My only gripe was that there had to be 3 other full paying adults but a senior citizen doesn't count. That wasn't mentioned anywhere. Other than that. Fun yummy place

What a great experience! So loved that the chefs cook your food in front of you. The dining area was immaculately clean. Never had to wsit for empty, food ingredient trays, sauces, oils to be replenished and the wait staff were awesome. Gengy's also has a pretty mean seafood chowder in their soup selection. I also like the fact that I can get my dessert pancake made to look like Mickey Mouse :-)

If you go in, wise to start out slow with the all you can eat.. I made the mistake of fulling my bowl to the top as I was really hungry.. I only had 2 plates and a small pudding.. If you start out slow you can workout what flavors you like.. They have a pamphlet about this, best to read it before fulling your bowl and not getting the best flavor experience 🙂

Consistently love coming to Gengys for dinner with friends and family and I'm always impressed. Gengys has a unique dining experience where you get a buffet plate of raw food and sauces etc then they cook it in front of you. The restaurant, on weekends at leased is packed with people yet they still manage to maintain good service and time. The pricing I believe is fair for the quality of food and service you receive and on your birthday you dine for only $1!! I would highly recommend Gengys for a good meal in Tauranga!

Gengys Tauranga is far superior to Hamilton and Rotorua. Rotorua just has a better crowd of patrons. Tauranga has the most on offer as regards menu and also it is set up the best for ease of dining. Tauranga Gengys employs the most chefs with the largest bbq and most service staff. They carry the largest range of beer and wine. It is quite loud, buzzing with happy customers and people enjoying conversation. Never any fights or drunkenness!! A great meal. More than you can eat!!!!!!

Great place. Good food, very prompt. Nice service. Good luck trying to eat them out. A range of options. Loved that it's a build your own meal (you pick each element of your meal, make your own sauce and then they cook it for you live - doesn't take long). Great concept, easy to get on board with. Would recommend. Not sure the price as I wasn't the one that paid.
