Generally good food with french influence, however I'm always pretty disappointed when a cafe serves canned whip cream. The service could be improved greatly, there was no welcome or info on how to order (table service or up at the counter), in addition we had been given our meals and finished them before our drinks arrived. So, food is OK, experience is a bit poor. Edit: after we reminded the team they made the drinks. I had ordered an iced latte, this is advertised as coming with whipped cream, it dosen't. I actually think it is better without (particularly since it would have been canned... but still. Not as advertised.)

I can't speak highly enough of this place. We've been a couple of times for lunch and always enjoyed it. We came this weekend for dinner and we're disappointed. The food was delicious. We had 3 starters ( it was a special occasion) and they were all delicious and we both loved our mains. Cooked well delicious flavours and hearty portions. The wines were lovely as well. We never felt rushed, were well looked after and the restaurant had a really nice relaxed ambiance. Can't wait to go back again. Will be recommending to everyone. Thanks for a lovely night

Rather a nice stop for a taste of genuine french ambiance. Menu is very limited but what we had was nice. Suspect they would get much more repeat business and becomes a destination with a wider choice. Definitely recommend though and the surprise shop next door was a real bonus.

Been here for a light lunch with a group of people for a field day nearby, taste really french and love the great toast with all sort of cheese. Recommended. But the place is a little small for a group of 40+ people. There is an covered outdoor table setup but it was drizzling and a bit cold so we haven’t seated outside.

We came across The Trading Post when looking for somewhere for a light lunch while passing through the area. This lovely place is quite delightful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had the brie and mushroom filled croissant and sourdough avocado toast. Both were generous and delicious.

Great find, super cozy cafe, restaurant. Lively rustic garden to sit in. Food was lovely with a French style. Good value. We had croissant eggs Benedict, very yummy! Great place to go with kids as they can run about the garden. Friendly staff.

Loved this restaurant. We were a group of 10, all our meals arrived at the same time and the food was amazing. I had the duck as a main and loved it. We also shared the four serving platters as a starter, all were incredible. Would definitely come back.

The meal was excellent, just starting a new business need to get established staff interact well with diners, reason for three stars need one more staff member maybe when up and running smoothly. Highly recommended.

Don't regret dining there but unlikely to be a regular choice. Not a fan of the pricing system as I tend to go for more than one entree and they price a fixed amount for two or three courses with some priced sharing options. Food was flavorful. Limited options. Small servings so relatively expensive for the quantity but I was ok with the pricing. Lamb was not as tender as expected. Chicken terrine texture not what expected but I have no experience to know what to expect. A bit cramped and could hear other people if you wanted.

I'm pretty sure that was the best coffee I have had in the Bay of Plenty....in the country... except for Wellington. We just had coffee and pastries out in the garden, the weather was nice the service was great. Oh and they opened the doors early for us.

Ate THE best prawn salad ever. It was so tasty. My companion had the green Thai curry, also with prawn, which was nice but a bit too bland for both of us. Will definitely come again. This place is a little gem and the staff very hospitable and friendly

Small restaurant with only about 6 tables, French bistro style, friendly staff, at the higher end price wise but a very enjoyable dinner. Recommended to book. Brunch menu for the weekend looks like we're going back.😋

Yum, Great food and friendly service. Lovely cottage atmosphere and easy parking. Just off the end of the Toll Rd and easier to get to than going into Tauranga from Papamoa. Have eaten here many times over the past 6 years and have consistently had great food.
