A pleasant surprise. The coffee was ordinary, but the food was excellent. The ribeye with mushroom sauce was nicely done, and the snack sized seafood mornay pizza was a hood size, and a reminder that proper pizzas are still available. Friendly staff, clean and sensible parking nearby. I've already recommended to others.

Easily the best restaurant in Timura. And it’s not difficult to see why. Their pizzas are tasty. Recommend the lamb shank sandwich too! The restaurant is right at the back of a church with ample parking spaces around it.

Such a great little pizza place - if you pass through this town, stop here! They have good WiFi as well. Free bottle of water is a nice touch. We ordered the APRICOT CHICKEN PIZZA and it was SUPERB! If you have a craving for pizza then you definitely should try this. It is such an interesting design concept - they are part of a church. It was a bit hard to find via google because Elizabeth street from the main road didn’t seem to connect. But we looped around. Photos from March 2018.

Freezing cold late afternoon and we got to sit in front of the wood burner to defrost. Lovely coffee and cake selection. Great selection of vegetarian meals too. Local artists are featured on the walls and works are for sale. Something for everyone and all ages. Will definitely add this spot to my reliable places to stop in at in Timaru.

Easy to find and park for an out of towner using Google like us. Friendly staff and excellent food. Only thing that disturbed me was the tables so close to the entrance to the hall to go to the lou. I felt intimidated walking past the folk seated there eating. Other than that, I would definitely recommend Zest.

Ordered the ribs. They were delicious. The portion size was great. For some reason I expected small ribs with minimal meat (probably from bad experiences with other restaurants). But these were definitely worth the price. And the sauce was amazing. Those ribs were drowning in that sauce. I used some with my fries (delicious too btw). 100% would order again.

Had pizzas at Zest today after driving from Dunedin. The pizzas were great. Just the right toppings, the crust was tasty but not too doughy. Though very busy the place was not hectic, even slightly relaxed. A warm and comfortable atmos. Good service and a good price.

This place is FANTASTIC! The food is so so so good. Interesting combinations -imaginative, tasty and well priced. If you’re in the area, you’d be mad not to eat here. It really is fantastic. Sarah, a waitress, is especially helpful and fun. In fact all staff are efficient, helpful and knowledgeable. They know the menu and give good advice. There’s no choice if you’re in the area... eat here, I can promise you, you will not be disappointed! We had morrocean chicken salad- yummy! Pizza - excellent!! Pasta - fantastic!!!!

The selection on the menu is generous to where everyone is going to find something enticing. Orders delivered find the portions also to be generous. The waiting staff are so friendly and helpful. Zest has is one of the best. The food is amazing, the service is always fantastic and the atmosphere is comfy and warm. We don't go enough and we really should go more, but it's always the best treat when we do.. highly reccommend to book in advance because they are popular.

Set in an old church hall , they have done a great job making the setting modern and comfortable, plenty of room inside. Seating available outside but would only be suitable on a nice day as no roofing but umbrellas covering most outside seating. The service is spectacular on entry the staff are on you asking your requirements, they are pleasant, friendly and professional. Serving lunches and dinners the menu has a taste for all appetites using local and the freshest ingredients also serving coffee and cake. The restuarant was clean tidy, roomy and fresh and the restrooms were the same. Set close to the city its walking distance to shops.When in it's worth a visit to Zest.

I've been going here on occasion for 17 years, from back when it was The Red Rocket. The pizza is always amazing, with good quality gluten free bases available, and the desserts and drinks are to match. I thoroughly recommend the Summer Barbecue, Greek and Apricot Chicken pizzas, and the staff make a nice lemon lime & bitters and affogato to finish the meal. Keep up the great work.

Excellent friendly service! Plus you won't get bullied into having to wait hours for your meal (so they can attract more diners at your expense). I have never waited more than 10 minutes. Nice friendly atmosphere with warm fireplace, plus a lounge seater if you only want a drink.

Pizza and church, 2 diametrically opposed objects. But both these objects have been smashed together within the city center of Timaru. But does it work? YESSS This Pizza Restaurant is situated in a freshly renovated church. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Standard gourmet pizza restaurant menu, pricing was quite reasonable. We had the zest special pizza which was quite good, also homemade lemon lime bitters. Shade sails are used quite cleverly inside to project a false ceiling, and also to baffle the noise, to suppress the traditional echo's with a church building. Overall a great experience. I am now a believer in church and pizza. Hallejulia praise the pizza. :)
