W.Fish n Chips and Chinese takeaways on Wilson Road, Waihi. They have some specials to choose from at the bottom of the menu. Ordered and waited for about 10 mins. You can also ring ahead to order. Chips, nuggets and hot dogs were lovely. The Tarakihi in the special combos were ok. Reasonable portions
C.Great burgers, fish, and chips. Everyone was really happy with the burgers. The chips were spot on, nice and crisp, not too oily. The fish was lovely and fresh with a nice fluffy and crisp batter. We went there right in the middle of lunch time and service was really quick even with a handful of orders going out between us ordering and getting our order. Awesome!
M.WOW Wilson Road Fish Shop....superb fresh-as fish (snapper), oysters & chips ! The best we can recall, raving while we enjoyed ! During our stay we were back to order the same again twice....each time consistently excellent plus.....thank you !

T.Everything we ordered was really nice, however, they stated that the snapper was fresh. It wasn't. Still tasted great, but they should have said it was pre-frozen.
A.Seating outside on sturdy seats able to hold my weight, with cheap combos such as 3 fish, 3 potato fritters and a scoop of chips for $17.
They still use newspaper to wrap up the chips and will gladly take clean newspapers.
Potato fritters were huge, fish were very fresh.
Handy to the gift shops and the beach, well worth the visit.

C.I grew up in Waihi Beach, but moved up to Auckland for my career. The most exciting things about a trip home are the peace and quiet offered here and a good feed of fish and chips from Sally down at the Wilson Road Fish and Chip shop.
