Love this place. It's a small, laid back spot. The man who took our order was so pleasant and helpful - all smiles and funny. His service was fast and efficient. The pastries are very good and breakfast was well prepared and tasty. I love the "coffee in a bowl" (extra large) coffee. The coffee service here is the best we've had in our NZ travels. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and there is free wifi. Outdoor seating had fleece blankets in the winter - a nice touch.

Authentic Chinese food with really good "wok hei" (fragrance of the wok). It's a small cozy place that also serve fresh juices. The wok fried lamb is quite good. Will recommend the fried noodles/vermicelli as well. Servings for main dishes are good for 2 to 3 person.

Another great find in Wanaka! Tucked away on a corner site that you might struggle to find a close carpark but worth the walk. A few tables inside with alcohol available. We ordered several dishes and the portion sizes were bigger than expected. Quality of each dish was fantastic and each one delivered on taste. We noticed a family of 5 adults and 4 children had buffet styled meal on their table which looked amazing. We had a pot of green tea to wash our meal down which was refreshing. It was very busy with take a way orders as well being made or collected but our food came out with no long wait time in between courses. Over indulged but it was worth it. Peking Duck is available but you have to call prior for them to prepare it.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing staff, family run business and they do amazing! Great service and the food is delicious! Wait time is not long at all. The fried squid is the best I’ve ever had. We went here because our son was craving some fried rice, and they really delivered with some other dishes such as stir-fried mixed veges and Szechuan-style chicken. The veges were fresh and coming from Southeast Asia, the spiciness level was just right for us. Would return and recommend.

Customer service was 👌🏽 The ladies were very accomodating and hospitable, as we had to sit outside (during the rain) and they took care of our large group very well. Honest about wait times and food came out shortly after 20mins. Food was hot, decently portioned and TASTY. Sweet and Sour pork was moist and dumplings were delicious. Will 100% be returning on our next visit.

They accommodated us outside of normal trading hours and with kids, yet they managed great tasty meals and lovely friendly staff to deal with. Highly recommended and will go there again when in Wanaka for winter.

The restaurant is a very cosy and calm place, the staff is very friendly and they have a wide range of options, look for the menu on photos. I ordered the Chicken and sweet corn soup. It was better than what I expected and the first time I tried Chinese soup. This is the perfect example of "comfort food". Wanaka is a very cool place full of cafes, restaurants and pubs. If you want to avoid that, this is an excellent option.

For those complaining about dishes not coming out at once, this is the way Chinese food is served and is best or order 3 or 4 dishes and share altogether. Would recommend it.

Best coffee I've had in NZ so far, but the standard is pretty low lol. But solid, full bodied flat white with a nice flavour of you like the darker less acidic coffee bean. could've been a touch hotter, but I'm just being picky. Could've easily ordered another one. We had a late lunch 3.30pm after playing golf in Wanaka. My seafood chowder was wonderful and full of fresh juicy seafood. My wife's Pasta Bolognese was also excellent. Staff were very friendly and the coffees and hot chocolate perfect. Highly recommended.

Great Coffee, from Ozone roasters is amazing. The food portions are small. We ordered the Gusto 2.0 salad and it was very small, for $17.50. It was just vermicelli noodles and chicken. It tasted great but please, just a little more!

Had brunch twice now at Cafe Gusto while vacationing at Lake Wanaka. OMG! Had to slow myself down. Had the Bacon & Egg Bun with Hollandaise sauce, both visits. A spin on eggs Benedict at half the price. Probably a gazillion calories, but worth every bite! Friendly service. They also have coffee, beer and wine. Fresh juices. Good variety and prices for the area.
