Absolutely amazing! Sam was an excellent server, super friendly and his wife who works there aswell was an absolute sweetheart. The lamb was delicious fully recommend, best lamb I have ever had. As for the cheesecake, no words! Once again just the best!

Went for Waitangi Day dinner last night and ordered the eye fillet with Paris butter and it did not disappoint. Succulent, cooked to perfection and had a delicious chimmichurri glaze. Great wines too. Would highly recommend 👌

An amazing restaurant! They are very busy so you must reserve a table.
The stone grill method really brought out the real favour of the meat. We ordered beef, lamb and venison, all were really tasty. You can “cook” the meat yourself with the 400-degree stone, which was kind of good fun.
My friend ordered the blue cod and duck, both were good choices too.

We had a lovely evening here at WGK starting with the friendly meeting from Sam to the tasty meals we experienced. Certainly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Wanaka. Thanks again Sam for a great night and we will certainly be returning.

We walked in to this restaurant with high expectations as it was Top 4/50. It’s situated just opposite of the the lake/ parking. We came in quite late around 9-ish and it was almost fully occupied.
We ordered:
Clam Chowder - we were lucky to change our order from the mussels to the soup of the day, clam chowder. It was served with toasted bread and butter. This was so good! Loved the creaminess and of course the taste!
Mixes veggies - garlic stir fried mixed veggies (broccoli and some green leafy veggies). I didn’t really like this as it was so salty.
Lamb Shoulder- we had their most recommended dish for our main... it was slow roasted for an hr according to the server. It was BIG! (a kilo) of lamb meat with some bones, the skin was a little crispy but the mean was so tender. Unfortunately the meat has a very strong lamb smell and there were no flavors to the meat. They served it with a little mint paste and some sauce. We weren’t happy with this dish.. It’s just a big chunk of meat.
Freebies:
They gave us 2 cubes of chocolate ganache

The Te Mana lamb shoulder is the dish to get here and it is absolutely delicious. Full stop.
The slow-roasted lamb shoulder is what my YEA and I rewarded ourselves with after a day of hiking Roy’s Peak nearby.
It’s definitely a dish for two but if you are feeling extra hungry then no shame in turning it into a food challenge for yourself.
The meat is so tender and juicy as you easily cut through it. Each mouthful was wonderful. The root veggies were on point and the bacon cabbage medley was crunchy joy.
There wasn’t much table talk because we were just enjoying the dinner so much and having a “moment”.
The restaurant is easy to miss because it is on the second floor of a building and you have to look for that door that will lead you up a flight of stairs.
The restaurant decor in the dining room is very soft on the eyes and it has this modern minimalist elegance to it.
Cheers to the friendly and caring staff. They didn’t have any problem when we wanted to switch to another table as the sun was setting and the sunlight was blinding me from the window.
Come here for the slow-roasted lamb shoulder, it’s totally worth it!

Wonderful dining experience. Great food & wine. Must try the signature lamb (main) and pork belly (starter). Food portion is large, value for money. Please make reservation to secure your seat, however u may still walk in to try your luck 😉

Exceptional. You can smell the amazing steaks just walking up the stairs.
My sister had the steak on the 400 degree stone grill, that was so delicious. The best choice. I had the duck, the chefs special. The baby carrots were yummy and the brocollini, however the duck was a little on the warm side and needed a bit more flavour, perhaps jam with the citrus.
The blue cod was delicious, same with the cream brulee! Good wine selection. Nice views. Great service!
