D.The food was very delicious, most notably the chocolate mousse. That is one of the best desserts I’ve had in my entire life. You must try it if you dine here. Also try the steak with mushroom sauce - very good! The staff was very nice, although we waited over 30 minutes between our entrees and mains. Between that and no outdoor seating the night we went, I’m giving 4 stars. But the food is certainly 5 stars!
A.Good food and wine in a beautiful and peaceful environment. Well deserves its rating as the best restaurant in the area. With its own cellar door you'll also have the chance to try a variety of wines as a very low price. Recommended.

M.We were gifted the tasting menu GrabOne deal. From start to finish our meal and experience was wonderful. The staff was very courteous, and quick with taking away any finished courses and extremely helpful - quick to notice if we needed assistance (top up of juice or water). And the food was beyond delicious. Beautiful in presentation and extremely tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed each course (though the venison course looked better than it tasted for us). The ceviche and chicken dishes and cheesecake were especially show stoppers. And the grape juice was absolutely delightful - we each ordered two glasses! And even though each course on their own appeared petite, after six courses we were thoroughly stuffed. Such a beautiful location, very nice outlook of the rolling hills of Matakana. Really wonderful experience. We will be back for the hospitality and especially the grape juice :)

Overall the food was good however a couple of minor things that compounded.
The food was good however we both left feeling a bit hungry still. It was definitely a tasting menu not nessecarily one to fill us both us.
The service was fairly avg and a bit hit and miss. The main waiter we had was good, yet the other one it felt like he didn’t really care.
The venue is lovely and in a very picturesque setting. We sat outside and I’d recommend you do too during summer. It was humming and turned over the tables.
Would I go back - probably but only w a changed menu. They could go a bit further and make it easier to pair the wines w the dishes. It does feel a bit tired and could do w some “refreshed” views.

s.Plume is by far one of the best vineyard restaurants I have even been to. From the minute you enter this place it’s completely mesmerising. We were greeted by Farida and she was awesome. The service was world class and the food was amazing. Upon farida’s recommendation we tried the duck and it was superb. The lamb was excellent as well. I love the flavours and the uniqueness of their food. Deserts were delightful. The views were breath taking and overall experience was outstanding. It’s definitely worth visiting ! A complete experience

J.Went to Plume for an anniversary dinner with really high expectations as my wife had picked this one out a couple of months prior. Whilst the food was enjoyable and the restaurant was really nice, it was all just good, not amazing. Our waiter also seemed to lack any enthusiasm and didn’t really try to make it pleasurable evening for us. The other waiters were a lot better however. Overall, a little disappointed 😓
D.My wife and I had an absolutely amazing dinner at Plume. We were tempted to have the Indian Fish curry and a Seafood bake in a coconut shell. The presentation was divine and the flavours .... spot on the tongue and palate.
To finish, we had the Creme Brûlée - totally decadent. Great value, great taste, great evening.

M.Lovely venue with a view out over the vines and an open kitchen. They serve Runner Duck wines at just a small markup over the cellar door. We had the venison tataki and the crispy duck leg with mandarin pancakes, which were both delicious! They also put together a lovely cheese selection for us to take with us to enjoy by the fireplace at the place we were staying!

The Food once again and as always exquisite, the portion sizes perfectly suited for a tasting menu.
Perfectly timed service of each and every dish, allowing for complete enjoyment of company, environment and atmosphere.
With wonderful knowledgeable interactions with Staff, adding to the Plume experience.
Thank you Plume and your wonderful staff for such a Spectacular evening.

The food was also delicious. I had the lamb ossobucco followed by the chocolate mousse, both worth returning for. Thanks for a memorable evening Plume, we will be back.
A.Great Personal friendly Service. We had the tasting menu very interesting selection of foods. Also had a paddle of Plume's own wines. That's something I'd recommend to taste some of their delicious boutique wines. All In all a great way to spend 2 hours in a lovely country setting.

A.Amazing Food, Great service. This is an outstanding place to spend an evening. We have eaten at most Restaurants in the area but none beat Plume for true quality food, great wine and the best desserts. The staff are super helpful and friendly and know the food they are serving. The pricing is fair considering you receive premium quality food and service.
h.Came for lunch and Had a pleasant experience for 5 course degustation! The food was faultless :). The ambience of the place was warm and cozy. And your service was lovely as well! The food came out at a timely manner and the way it was planned out and arranged was great too. I really enjoyed having the lemon sorbet between the okonomiyaki and the tagine it was an unusually nice touch! Highly recommend this place to anyone especially for date nights !

J.This place was highly recommended to me. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed. The food was very average and quite expensive for what you get. The staff are nice, but service is quite poor. You can tell most of the waiting staff are inexperienced and look really young. After our wine was served (highlight of the experience, lovely wine), no one ever came back to our table to ask if we needed more drinks or check on us, we would only see the waiter when the food was served and dishes collected.
Overall I expected better food and better experience.

Thank you for accommodating our group of ladies who were vegetarian and non vegetarian. Compliments to all the kitchen staff and management who were very friendly and flexible. J.Delicious lunch! Took my father here for his 91st birthday; an easy 30 minute drive north was better than fighting Auckland traffic and parking. Wonderful menu, tons of selections, perfectly cooked and artistically prepared and presented.
A.We were so happy we decided to come here for my father-in-laws birthday celebration, we were NOT disappointed. We were a group of 7 people and when making a reservation i spoke to Josip. I did mention we had an autistic teenager who liked a lot of space that overlooked the gorgeous views as this keeps him calm. Our table setting was ideal. The restaurant was completely packed but our table was set outside exactly the way we wanted. We were a bit late but still wanted to do a quick wine tasting. Knowing it would be difficult to do so with our autistic teen, they brought the wine tasting to us (Thank you Farida, you are an absolute delight). The servers were super warm and friendly and well the food was delicious! We pretty much tried everything from the menu from entrees to mains and desserts (tiramisu is to die for), massive thanks to the Chef. Not once were we rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the 3 hours we spent there. The Dark Velvet Red 🍷 was a clear winner in our books. We will surely be back and highly recommend everyone to give this place a go.

Really worth a visit
M.Staff were great and a nice vibe. Venue is sadly often closed and the food was average. Curry had too little spice and too much tomato for our more auckland Indian tastes. Overall a nice experience but we found the pizza at the Gelato place down the road more enjoyable for the price.
C.Love this spot been going here for about 10 years now at least a couple of times a year. Chef is awesome guy.. has been there years. Get the Peking duck pancakes main and share that as a starter. Wine is good ... get there early and do a wine tasting before dinner.

The flavours were perfectly balanced. I enjoyed a glass of Runner Duck "Passion" (Syrah) Red Wine. Wine Tastings are available throughout the year. Phone directly to find out more. The restaurant is set amongst undulating landscapes & the views are mesmerising! If you want to savour the experience a little longer, I thoroughly recommend booking an overnight stay in the newly appointed Villa's on site. You won't want to leave!
M.11 of us went to plume today for their degustation lunch. I had purchased grab one voucher however even if we had paid the full price we would have been totally delighted with the meal. The staff were excellent and very friendly and polite and we had a wonderful time thank you
D.Having just read the in the Saturday Herald, a couple absolutely scathing the Plumes Winery, for their food, and rude staff etc. My husband and I go there quite regular and travel from Auckland. The Director/Manager, Staff are friendly, helpful and very efficient. As for the food being over cooked etc, absolutely amazed by their comments. That is why we travel nearly an hour, because of the delicious food, ambience etc. We hope more regular customers will. also comment on this article. It will certainly not stop us from visiting soon. L.As locals this is our favourite and go to restaurant. We have been to Plume numerous of times and we always get a great meal and wine whether it is lunch or dinner (and the platter at lunchtime is the best one around). We also had our wedding here and anyone looking for a beautiful venue for their wedding, along with fantastic food and good service I would highly recommend Plume! We have had such great feedback from our wedding guests saying how amazing the food was (it was all cooked to perfection) and what a stunning venue it was. Staff were really friendly and Farida was great at answering all my questions and fast at replying to emails! Along with letting us have all our wishes and things we wanted on and for our big day. Number one fan, always up for a meal and wine at Plume!

The surroundings are excellent, however with the sun beating down, made it a rather hot venue.

E.I have to give 5* to this place, excellent service manner and the wine is delicious as well. Food was presented beautifully. We had the 5 course tasting menu for dinner with some extra bits of surprise. The rose water panna cotta was the highlight of the night. You feel a bit of indian influence in the menu, for example the tomato soup is flavoured like a butter chicken. Just a small note on the venisson tataki, if you have a slightly thicker cut and probably season it like tataki with citrus soy (ponzu) I would order again.
A.Summer tasting courses really doesn't worth to try. Very small portion, taste not good as well; one small spoon ice cream is also included as a course. I bought it on grab one, marked half price for 2 people $109, original price was $218. I don't think anyone would pay for $218 for that price. Even 109 is not worth to try.

The service was excellent and Sebastion was our matre de very professional and helpful in every way. We found the ambiance very comfortable and enjoyable.
